OPERATION AND SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS

  • Read this user manual thoroughly before using the unit. Keep this manual for the entire usage period.

  • Mishandling the unit can cause it to break, harm the user or damage their property.

  • Before switching the unit on make sure that the operating voltage of the coffee machine corresponds to the mains voltage.

  • The power cord is equipped with a «Euro-plug»; use it with a socket that has a reliable grounding connection.

  • To avoid fire, do not use adapters for connecting the coffee machine to the mains.

  • Only use the coffee machine for its intended purpose.

  • Do not use the unit outdoors.

  • Never leave, or keep the coffee machine in places with the temperature below 0°C.

  • Place the coffee machine on a dry stable even surface; do not place the unit on the edge of the table.

  • Do not place the coffee machine on hot surfaces.

  • Keep the coffee machine out of direct sunlight.

  • Do not use the coffee machine near heat and moisture sources or near open flame.

  • When installing the coffee machine, leave a free space of 10 cm on each side of the unit to ensure its effective cooling.

  • Do not let the power cord hang from the edge of the table and make sure it does not touch hot surfaces or sharp edges of furniture.

  • Be careful while handling hot water.

  • To avoid electric shock, do not immerse the coffee machine, its power cord or power plug into water or other liquids.

  • To avoid injury, keep your hands away from moving parts of the unit, such as the coffee grinder and brewing unit, during operation.

  • Do not move the coffee machine or remove protective elements (e.g. do not open the right door) while making  drinks or washing.

  • Use only the accessories supplied.

  • Do not switch the coffee machine on if it is empty.

  • Fill the tank only with clean water, it is recommended to use water additionally cleaned with domestic water filters.

  • Before switching the coffee machine on, make sure that all removable parts are installed properly.

  • Never leave the coffee machine unattended when switched on.

  • Do not touch the power cord, the plug, or the coffee machine body with wet hands.

  • To avoid burns, do not touch hot surfaces of the coffee machine (adjustable coffee spout, boiler) during coffee making or right after switching the unit off. The surface
    of the heating element remains hot after use.

  • Let the unit cool down completely before cleaning it or removing the accessories.

  • Do not remove the adjustable coffee spout or the brewing unit during coffee machine operation.

  • Unplug the coffee machine before cleaning or when you are not using it.

  • When unplugging the unit, pull the plug but not the cord.

  • Do not switch off or unplug the unit while making drinks or cleaning the system.

  • For children safety do not leave polyethylene bags used for packaging unattended.

Attention! Do not allow children to play with polyethylene bags or packaging film. Danger of suffocation!

  • This unit is not intended for usage by children.

  • Place the unit out of reach of children during operation and cooling down.

  • Do not allow children to touch the unit body or the power cord during operation.

  • The unit is not intended to be used by people with physical, sensory or mental disabilities (including children) or by persons lacking experience or knowledge if they are
    not under the supervision of a person who is responsible for their safety or if they are not instructed by this person on the usage of the unit.

  • Do not leave children unattended to avoid them using the unit as a toy.

  • Do not use the unit if the coffee machine body, the power cord or the power plug is damaged.

  • In order to avoid liquid getting on the electrical connector, in the event of any malfunction or if the unit has been dropped, unplug the unit from the mains and contact any authorized service center.

  • If the power cord is damaged, it should be replaced by the manufacturer, a maintenance service, or similar qualified personnel to avoid potential injury.

  • To avoid potential injury, do not attempt to repair the unit yourself. Do not disassemble the unit by yourself, if any malfunction is detected or after it was dropped, unplug the unit and apply to any authorized service center from the contact address list given in the warranty certificate and on the website www.rondell.ru.

  • Transport the unit in the original packaging only.

  • Keep the unit in a dry cool place out of reach of children and disabled persons.

THIS UNIT IS INTENDED FOR HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY. COMMERCIAL USAGE AND USAGE IN PRODUCTION AREAS AND WORK SPACES IS PROHIBITED.
BEFORE THE FIRST USE
After unit transportation or storage at low temperature keep it for at least three hours at room temperature before switching on.
– Take the coffee machine out of its packaging and remove the packaging materials.
– Check the unit integrity; do not use the unit in case of damage.
– Make sure that the operating voltage of the coffee machine corresponds to the mains voltage.
– Before using the coffee machine for the first time, wash all removable parts (1, 4, 12, 13) with warm water and neutral detergent and dry them.

OPERATION PREPARATION

Read this manual before using the unit for the first time and keep it for the entire time you use the coffee machine.
– Check to make sure that the brewing unit (12), used coffee grounds container (13), and drip tray (1) are properly installed.
– Fill the tank (4) with clean water and install it in the coffee machine (pic. 1).
Notes:
– The tank (4) can be filled only with clean water at room temperature. Do not fill it with hot or ice water and milk. Failure to comply with this requirement will cause the
tank to crack and damage the unit.
– Add coffee beans (more than 30 g) to the bean container (10) before the first use (pic. 2).

Notes:
– The Container (10) is only intended for coffee beans, do not add water, ground coffee, or coffee beans mixed with dense particles to avoid damaging the coffee grinder blades.
– If the display (17) shows the symbol «Bean container is empty» « » – add coffee beans (more than 30 g).
UNIT OPERATION
Switching the coffee machine on/off
– Plug the unit into the mains.
– Press the ON button (22) « » on the front panel of the unit (fig. 3).
– When switched on, the coffee machine runs a self-diagnosis and automatic washing.
– When the above processes are completed, the machine will be ready for use.
– To switch the coffee machine off and put it into standby mode, press and hold the button (22) «
» for 4 seconds, which will start the washing mode.
– Disconnect the unit from the mains.
MAKING «ESPRESSO»
Notes: Warm the cups that you want to use first; to do this, place the cups on the cup warming tray (15), while water is heated in the boiler, the tray (15) heats up too, thus warming the cups.
– Set the temperature of the ready beverage to your preference, see «Changing the beverage settings». You can select the water temperature from 75 to 95°C.
The default setting is 85°C.
– Place a cup under the adjustable coffee spout (2) of the coffee machine and adjust its height (fig. 4).
– Press «Espresso» button (19) « » to make the beverage.
– The preparation process will end automatically when the coffee machine has made the programmed amount of drink.
– Press «Exit» button (21) « » to pause the process of making coffee.
– After finishing the process of making a drink, take the cup with the drink away .
– Press «Two cups» button (22) « » to make two cups of coffee. The symbol «Ð2» will appear on the display (17).
Changing settings while making a drink
– To change the coffee strength, while grinding the coffee beans, press the buttons (18) « » or (20) « » (pic. 5) to change the amount of ground coffee (9-11 g) that will be used to make the beverage. At the same time the display will show the process of changing the corresponding setting (pic. 6).
– To change the amount of ready beverage, use the buttons (18) « » and (20) « » (pic. 5) to change the water volume (20-250 ml) when the coffee machine starts to release water into the cup. At the same time the display will show the process of changing the corresponding setting (pic. 7).
MAKING «AMERICANO»
– Place a cup under the coffee spout (2) of the coffee machine and adjust its height (pic. 4).
– Press «Americano» button (18) « » to make the beverage.
– Press «Exit» button (21) « » to pause the process of making coffee.
– After the end of the cooking process, take away the cup with the beverage.
– Press «Two cups» button (22) « » to make two cups of coffee. The symbol «Ð2» will appear on the display (17).

Changing settings while making a drink

  • To change the coffee strength, while grinding the coffee beans, press the buttons (18) « » or (20) « » (pic. 5) to change the amount of ground coffee (9-11 g) that will be used to make the beverage. At the same time the display will show the process of changing the corresponding setting (pic. 8).
  • To change the amount of «Espresso», use the buttons (18) « » and (20) « » (pic. 5) to change the water volume (20-250 ml) when the coffee machine starts to release water into the cup. At the same time the display will show the process of changing the corresponding setting (pic. 9).
  • To change the amount of hot water, use the buttons (18) « » and (20) « » (pic. 5) to change the water volume (20-250 ml) when the coffee machine starts to release water into the cup. At the same time the display will show the process of changing the corresponding setting (pic.10).

MAKING «FROTHED MILK»
ATTENTION! Be careful not to get burns by the outgoing steam from the cappuccinator pipe (3).
– Put the cappuccinator pipe (3) into the cup with milk (pic. 11).
– Press the button (23) « » to froth milk (pic. 12).
Changing settings while making a drink

  • To change the milk foam making time, use the buttons (18) « » or (20) « » (pic. 5) to change the time. At the same time the display will show the process of changing the corresponding setting (pic. 13).

IMPORTANT:
It is important that milk for making foam is fresh, chilled and without additives, that is, not so-called long-term storage milk.
Use regular full-cream milk with fat content from 4% to 6%, the cream fat content should be not less than 10%.
HEATING WATER
– Place a cup under the coffee spout (2) of the coffee machine and adjust its height (pic. 4).
– Press the button (20) « » to heat water.
– The hot water supply will stop automatically when its volume in the cup reaches 250 ml. Press «Exit» button (21) « » to stop hot water supply.

MAKING DRINKS FROM GROUND COFFEE

– Add 2 coffee spoons (10 g) to the ground coffee funnel (9).
ATTENTION! The amount of ground coffee to be added should not exceed 2 spoons, the spoon is supplied with the unit. Otherwise, the coffee powder will spill out of the brewing unit, causing it to clog and damage.
– Press «Ground coffee» button (21) « », the corresponding symbol will appear on the display (pic. 15).
– Press the selected beverage button «Espresso» (19) « » or «Americano» (18) « ».
– The drink making process will end automatically.

FUNCTION CAPABILITIES

Grinding degree control
Adjust the grinding degree (from 1 to 5) of the coffee beans while the coffee grinder is running.
If you turn the knob (14) counterclockwise, the grind size will be finer and the taste of coffee will be stronger.
If you turn the knob (14) clockwise, the grind size will be coarse and the taste of coffee will be weak.
ATTENTION! The coffee grinder should only be adjusted while the coffee grinder is in operation. Failure to do so may result in unit damage.
Drip tray (1)
– When the level of the drained liquid rises to the upper limit, the float water level indicator rises, after which it is required to drain the liquid from the drip tray.
– If the display shows «No drip tray» « » with the drip tray installed, remove the drip tray and reinstall it.
Brewing unit (12)
– Please do not open the door (11) or move the brewing unit (12) during coffee making. If the display (17) shows «No brewing unit» « », please remove it and then reinsert it into its place until it clicks.
– If the display shows the «Brewer unit door is open » symbol, open and then close the door (11) tightly.
Used coffee grounds container (13)
– When the symbol « » appears on the display, please empty the container (13).
Changing the coffee machine settings
You can change the beverage making settings only during making it.
– Press and hold the button (21) « » for 4 seconds to set the coffee making settings.
– Set the water temperature from 75 to 95°C by pressing the buttons (18) « » or (20) « » (pic. 17).
– Press the button (21) « » and set the automatic switchoff time in the range from 0.5 to 24 hours by pressing the buttons (18) « » or (20) « » (pic. 18).
– To reset to the factory settings, press the button (21) « » (pic. 19), then press and hold down the button (18) « » or (20) « ». If you do not want to reset, press the button (21) « » again: you will enter the device information view mode (the date of manufacture of the coffee machine and the batch number will be displayed) (pic. 20).
– Press the button (21) « » to exit the settings mode.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Washing the milk frothing system
– Place a cup with clean water under the cappuccinator pipe.
– Press the button (23) « » (pic. 12) and clean the cap- puccinator pipe.
– After the rinse is finished, let the coffee machine cool down for 15 minutes.
– Remove the cappuccinator pipe (3) (pic. 21) and wash it under a water jet.
– Install the cappuccinator pipe (3) back to its place.
Notes: It is recommended to wash the milk frothing system after every use.
Cleaning the brewing unit
– Open the brewing unit door (11) (pic. 22).
– Remove the container (13) (pic. 23).
– Remove the brewing unit (12) from the coffee machine (pic. 24).
– Soak the brewing unit (12) in a container with clean water and rinse it thoroughly or wash it under running water.
– Place the brewing unit (12) in the coffee machine slot, then install the brewing grounds container (13).
Notes: We recommend cleaning the brewing unit once a month.
Cleaning from scale (decalcification)
To prolong the life of the coffee machine, it is critical to clean the unit from scale in a timely manner. The descaling frequency depends on water hardness in your region. To
determine the level, we recommend using paper indicator testers that are immersed in water and change color depending on the amount of calcium, magnesium and iron. Based on the data obtained, it is necessary to choose one of the following decalcification frequency schemes:

You can use calcium powder or tablets that are designed for automatic coffee machines and other food and drink mak- ing devices as a cleaning agent.
– Make the descaling solution according to the cleaning agent instructions.
– Fill the water tank (4) with the prepared solution up to the maximum mark and place it in the coffee machine (fig. 25).
– Place a suitable container (at least 1.5 l) under the coffee spout (2).
–Press and hold the button (21) « » for 4 seconds until the «Rinse» symbol appears on the display (pic. 26).
– Press «Enter» button (23) to start the cleaning process.
– When the water system has been cleaned with the descaling solution, you will hear a sound signal and the symbol « » will appear on the display.
– Remove the water tank (4) from the coffee machine, wash it and fill it with clean water.
– Insert the water tank (4) into the coffee machine and wait for the cleaning process to finish.
– To reset the number of drinks you have made, perform a factory reset, see «Changing the coffee machine settings».
Cleaning the coffee grinder
– Unplug the unit
– Open the coffee bean container lid (10) and clean the inside surface with a dry, soft cloth (pic. 30).
ATTENTION! Do not use water or sharp objects to clean the coffee grinder.
Replacing sealing rings
The delivery set includes a set of sealing rings for the heating block.
Rings must be replaced if they are worn or damaged.
ATTENTION! Replacement should be carried out when the unit is unplugged.
– Open the brewing unit door (11) (pic. 22).
– Remove the used coffee grounds container (13) (fig. 23).
– Remove the brewing unit (12) (fig. 24).
– Clean the brewing unit by immersing it in a container with clean water for 30-40 minutes.
– Replace the ring gaskets on the brewing unit (pic. 27-29).

STORAGE

– Before taking the unit away for storage, unplug it and let the unit cool down completely.
– Clean the unit. Wash all removable parts (1, 3, 4, 9, 12, 13) with warm water and neutral detergent and dry them.
– Do not leave, use and keep the unit in places with the temperature below 0°C.
– Keep the unit in a dry cool place out of reach of children and handicapped persons.

TRANSPORTATION

– Keep the original packaging of the coffee machine for safe transportation.
– Remove all water from the tank of the coffee machine and its internal parts, wipe dry with a soft cloth.

Guarantee service conditions

  1. The guarantee is valid if the following issuance conditions are observed:
    • correct and precise filling in the original RÖNDELL warranty card with mentioning model name, its serial number, date of sale, with seal of Seller and signature of Seller’s representative in the warranty card, seals on each tear-off coupon, Buyer’s signature;
    The manufacturer retains the right to refuse guarantee service in case of failure to submit the above-mentioned documents, or if the information they contain is incomplete, illegible or contradictory.

  2. The guarantee is valid if the following operating conditions are observed:
    • the device is used in strict accordance with the operating instructions;
    • the safety rules and requirements are observed.

  3. Warranty does not include periodic maintenance, cleaning, installation, adjustment of device at the owner’s home, as well as natural device wear and tear.
