The coffee machine is intended for making coffee: «ESPRESSO», «LUNGO», «DOUBLE ESPRESSO», «CAPPUCCINO», «MACCHI­ATO», «LATTE», «LATTE MACCHIATO», «FLAT WHITE».

OPERATION AND SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS

  • Read this user manual thoroughly before using the unit. Keep this manual for the entire usage period.

  • Mishandling the unit can cause it to break, harm the user or damage their property.

  • Before switching the unit on make sure that the operating voltage of the Coffee Machine corresponds to the mains voltage.

  • The power cord is equipped with a «Euro plug»; plug it into an electrical outlet with a safe ground connection.

  • To avoid fire, do not use adapters for connecting the Coffee Machine to the mains.

  • Use the coffee machine only for its intended purpose.

  • Do not use the unit outdoors.

  • Never leave or store the coffee machine in rooms with tem­peratures below 0’C.

  • Place the coffee machine on a dry, flat, stable surface and not on the edge of a table.

  • Do not place the Coffee Machine on hot surfaces.

  • Do not use the Coffee Machine near heat and moisture sources or near open flame.

  • Avoid the power cord hanging off a table and keep it away from hot surfaces and sharp edges of furniture.

  • Be careful when handling hot water.

  • To avoid electric shock, do not immerse the coffee machine, the power cord or the power plug in water or any other liq­uids.

  • Use only the accessories supplied.

  • Do not run the coffee machine without water.

  • Use only clean cold water, water additionally cleansed through domestic water filters is recommended.

  • Before switching the coffee machine on, make sure that all removable parts are correctly installed.

  • Never leave the coffee machine running unattended.

  • Do not touch the power cord, the power plug and the coffee machine body with wet hands.

  • To avoid scalding, do not touch hot surfaces of the coffee machine (coffee dispensing unit, boiler) during coffee prepa­ration and immediately after switching the unit off.

  • Let the unit cool down completely before removing accesso­ries or cleaning it.

  • Do not remove the coffee spout and the brewing unit during the coffee machine operation.

  • Disconnect the coffee machine from the mains before clean­ing or if not used.

  • When disconnecting the unit from the mains, pull the plug but not the cord.

  • For children’s safety do not leave polyethylene bags used for packaging unattended.
    Attention! Do not allow children to play with polyethylene bags or packaging film. The danger of suffocation!

  • This unit is not to be used by children.

  • Place the unit out of reach of children during the operation and cooling down.

  • Do not allow children to touch the unit body and the power cord during the unit operation.

  • The unit is not intended to be used by people with physical, sensory or mental disabilities (including children) or by persons lacking experience or knowledge if they are not under the supervision of a person who is responsible for their safety or if they are not instructed by this person on the usage of the unit.

  • Children should be supervised to prevent them from using the unit as a toy.

  • Do not use the unit if there is any damage in the coffee maker body, power cord or power plug.

  • If the power cord is damaged, it should be replaced by the manufacturer, a maintenance service or similar qualified person to avoid danger.

  • Do not repair the unit by yourself. Do not disassemble the unit by yourself, by any malfunction or after the unit has been dropped, disconnect it from the electrical outlet and contact any autho­rized (designated) service centre at the contact addresses in the warranty card and on the website www.rondell.ru.

  • Transport the unit in the original package only.

  • Keep the unit in a dry cool place out of reach of children and disabled persons.

BEFORE THE FIRST USE

After unit transportation or storage at low temperature keep it for at least three hours at room temperature before switching on.

  • Take the coffee machine out of the packaging and remove the packing materials.
  • Check the unit for damages; do not use it in case of any.
  • Make sure that the coffee machine’s operating voltage corresponds to the mains voltage.
  • Before using the coffee machine for the first time, wash all removable parts (1, 7, 9, 11, 12, 15) with warm water and neu­tral detergent and dry them.

OPERATION PREPARATION

Before the first use

  • Check to make sure that the Brewing Unit (9), Used Coffee Grounds Container (12), and Drip Tray (7) are properly installed.
  • Fill the water tank ( 1) with clean water (pie. 5).

Adding coffee beans
Add the coffee beans into the coffee machine (pie. 3).

Coffee Grinding Adjustment
Coffee Grinding can be adjusted during grinder operation. Open the container lid (2). Turn the grinding degree control knob (3) (pie. 3). Turn the Adjuster Knob (3) counter-clockwise for more fine grind and a stronger taste, or clockwise for less fine grind and a softer taste.
Notes: After adjusting the grinding, the adjustment will persist from the third cup of coffee onwards.

Adding ground coffee
Add ground coffee into the coffee maker (pie. 4).
Notes: The Container ( 2) is only intended for coffee beans, do not add water. ground coffee, or coffee beans mixed with dense particles to avoid damaging the coffee grinders.

Drip Tray(7)
When the tray is fully filled, the Float Water Level Indicator ( 13) rises, at which point the Drip Tray needs to be drained.

Brewing Unit (9)
Keep the Brewing Unit closed and do not move it during cof­fee making. If the display shows that the brewing unit (9) is not installed, please, remove it and then insert again as far as it goes until clicking.

Used Coffee Grounds Container (12)
When the display shows that the container is full, please, empty the container (12).

Water quality
Poor water quality can damage the unit. Please, observe the fol­lowing security measures:

  • Never pour active water into the water tank.
  • The carbonate hardness must not exceed 5-6· dKH (German carbonate hardness) or 8.9-10.7. fKH (French carbonate hardness), and the total hardness must always be higher than the carbonate hardness.
  • Minimal carbonate hardness shall be 5· dKH or 8,9· fKH. pH shall be 6,5 – 7.

Installing the milk pipe
Install the milk pipe (pie. 1 ).

FUNCTIONALITY AND OPERATION

Connecting the coffee machine
Insert the power cord into the socket on the rear side of the panel and connect the unit to the mains (pie. 2).
Note: The operation mode buttons on the control panel (5) are sensory, you just need to touch the button to switch the necessary operation mode on.

Switching the coffee machine on

  • Step 1
    Press the switch (16) to the position «I» (pie. 6).

  • Step2
    The unit will be switched on and start operation, and the startup screen will appear (pie. 7). The message «Launch» will appear in the right bottom corner. Press and wait until the coffee machine is loaded (pie. 8).

  • Step3
    When the machine is loaded, the menu will appear on the dis­play (pie. 9 and 10).

The coffee machine settings menu

  • Step 1
    Touch the main menu icon and select the settings menu. Touch the menu (pie. 1t ). Select the settings (pie. 12). Press the tab «Cleaning» (pie. 13). Select one of 4 options: Milk supply system cleaning, Washing, Deep cleaning, and Descaling. Press «Drink taste settings» – «Settings» (pie. 14). In «Drink taste settings» menu you can select the type of drink (pie. 14) and its settings (pie. 16). You can select the tab «Locked» in the «Drink taste settings» (pie. 15). When you activate it, you cannot change the drink set­tings from the display.
    When you select the tab «Coffee maker settings»: Language (pie. 17), «Timer» (pie. 18). In «Timer» function you can selectthe coffee machine switch off time: 0. 5 h, 1 h, 2 h, 3 h … 24 h, «Milk system cleaning time» function (pie. 19), «Descaling settings» (pie. 20). Display brightness levels (pie. 21) – 3 levels. Process control function (pie. 22). Sound indication on function «Sound» (pie. 23), «Reset» function (pie. 24). The tab «Calibration» (pie. 25) – settings for professional use. The tab «Information• (pie. 26)- cup counter.

Switching the coffee machine off

  • Step 1
    Press the icon in the left bottom corner (pie. 27).

  • Step 2
    Press for 3 seconds (pie. 28). Washing will start (pie. 29).

  • Step 3
    After washing the coffee machine press the switch ( 16) to the position «0».

MAKING DRINKS

  • Espresso, Lungo, Americano
    Select the desired type of drink in the start menu (pie. 31 ). You can set the drink setting during making ◄ ► (pie. 32) or in the Settings menu given above in the chapter «Drink settings» (pie. 16). Press the selected drink making button. To pause the coffee making, press ( ****).

  • Making cappuccino, macchiato, latte, latte macchiato, flat white
    Select the desired type of drink in the start menu (pie. 31 ). You can set the drink setting during making ◄ ► (pie. 33) or in the Settings menu given above in the chapter «Drink settings» (pie. 16). Put the installed milk pipe (15) into the container with milk (pie. 34). Press the selected drink making button. To pause the coffee making, press ( ****).

  • Making hot milk/frothed milk
    Select the desired type of drink in the start menu (pie. 31 ). You can set the drink setting during making ◄ ► (pie. 35) or in the Settings menu given above in the chapter «Drink settings» (pie. 16). Put the installed milk pipe (15) into the container with milk (pie. 34). Press the selected drink making button. To pause the coffee making, press ( ****).

  • Making hot water
    Select the desired type of drink in the start menu (pie. 31 ). You can set the drink setting during making ◄ ► (pie. 36) or in the Settings menu given above in the chapter «Drink settings» (pie. 16). Press the selected drink making button. To pause the coffee making, press ( ****).

  • Warning meaning

    • Pie. 37. – The removable tray (7) is full. Clean it.
    • Pie. 38. – The brewing unit (9) is installed improperly. Install it back to its place.
    • Pie. 39. – The used coffee grounds container (12) is full. Clean it.
    • Pie. 40. – The removable tray (7) is installed improperly. Re-install it.
    • Pie. 41. – The door (10) is open. Close it.
    • Pie. 42. – Not enough coffee beans. Add and press ****.
    • Pie. 43. – Not enough water. Fill the tank with water.
    • Pie. 44. – Too coarse grinding. Adjust and press ****to confirm.
    • Pie. 45. – Not enough water in the water system. Add water and press ****to confirm.

CLEANING

  • Wipe the coffee machine body with a soft, slightly damp cloth and then wipe dry.
  • Do not use metal brushes or abrasive cleaning agents to clean the coffee machine.
  • Do not immerse the power cord, power plug, or coffee machine body into water or other liquids.
  • Wash the removable parts of the coffee machine (1, 7, 9, 11, 12, 15) with warm water and neutral detergent, rinse them and dry.

Washing
Touch the main menu icon and select the settings menu. Touch the menu (pie. 11 ). Select the settings (pie. 12). Press the tab «Cleaning» (pie. 13). Select the function: Washing (pic.46).

WASHING THE MILK SYSTEM

  • Automatic cleaning
    Touch the main menu icon and select the settings menu. Touch the menu (pie. 11 ). Select the settings (pie. 12). Insert the milk pipe ( 15) into the opening in the removable tray (7). Press the tab «Cleaning» (pie. 13). Select the function: «Washing the milk system» (pie. 47). Select « Clean» or., « Cancel» (pic.48).

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE OF THE BREWING UNIT

Washing the brewing unit.
Wash the brewing unit as described in the chapter «Washing».

Deep cleaning
Performed after 500 cups.

  • Step 1
    Touch the main menu icon and select the settings menu. Touch the menu (pie. 11 ). Select the settings (pie. 12). Press the tab «Cleaning» (pie. 13). Select the function: Deep cleaning (pie. 51). Select « Clean» or« Cancel» (pie. 51).

  • Step 2
    Cleaning the brewing unit with a tablet. Add the tablet into the coffee beans container (2) (pie. 52).

DESCALING (DECALCINATION)
Touch the main menu icon and select the settings menu. Touch the menu (pie. 11 ). Select the settings (pie. 12). Press the tab «Cleaning» (pie. 13). Select the function: Descaling (pic.53). Confirm the action , cancel – . Start cleaning – ****.

Cleaning the brewing unit
Perform cleaning of the brewing unit (9) no less than once every two weeks.
Attention/ Do not remove the brewing unit when the coffee machine is on.
Unplug the coffee machine from the mains. Open the side door ( 10) and remove the used coffee grounds container ( 12) (pie. 54). Purge the container off the used coffee grounds and its residue. Wash it and dry. Gently pull the Brewing Unit (9) handle, while holding down the plastic bump. Remove the brewing unit (pie. 55). Do not use abrasives that can damage the brewing unit (9) to clean it. Immerse the brewing unit in water for 5 minutes and then rinse under running water. Remove coffee residues from the brewing unit compartment with a brush.

Drip tray and grid (7)
Remove the grate from the tray (7), remove the tray and drain it off the water, wash the tray and install it back into its place, and install the grate over the tray (7).

Water tank (1)
Perform a regular cleaning of the water tank ( 1) (approximately 2 times per month) using a moist tissue and soft detergent.

STORAGE

  • Before taking the unit away for storage, unplug it and let it cool down completely.
  • Clean the unit according to the «Cleaning» section.
  • Do not leave or store the coffee machine in rooms with temperatures below o·c.
  • Keep the unit in a dry cool place away from children and people with disabilities.

For environmental protection do not throw out the unit and the batteries (if included), do not discard the unit and the batteries with usual household waste after the service life expiration; apply to specialized centers for further recycling. The waste generated during the disposal of the unit is subject to mandatory collection and consequent disposal in the prescribed manner.

For further information about recycling of this product apply to a local municipal administration, a disposal service or to the shop where you purchased this product.

Guarantee service conditions

  1. The guarantee is valid if the following issuance conditions are observed: correct and precise filling in the original RONDELL warranty card with mentioning model name, its serial number, date of sale, with seal of Seller and signature of Seller’s representative in the warranty card, seals on each tear-off coupon, Buyer’s signature; The manufacturer retains the right to refuse guarantee service in case of failure to submit the above-mentioned documents, or if the information they contain is incomplete, illegible or contradictory.

  2. The guarantee is valid if the following operating conditions are observed:

    • the device is used in strict accordance with the operating instructions;
    • the safety rules and requirements are observed.
  3. The warranty does not include periodic maintenance, cleaning, installation, or adjustment of the device at the owner’s home, as well as natural device wear and tear.

  4. Cases not covered by the guarantee:

    • mechanical impairments;

    • non-observance of operating conditions or faulty action of the owner;

    • incorrect installation or transportation;

    • natural hazards (lightning, fire, flooding etc.), as well as other causes beyond the control of the seller and manufacturer;

    • penetration of external objects, liquids or insects into the device;

    • repair work or structural alterations carried out by unauthorised persons;

    • use of the device for professional purposes (whereby the load exceeds the domestic application level);

    • connection of the device to power supply, telecommunication and cable-based networks incompatible with the
      State Technical Standards;

    • cleaning of audio heads, different media readout drives

    • breakdown of the accessories of the unit listed below, if their replacement is specified by the construction and does not require disassembly of the unit:
      a) the remote control, the accumulator batteries, batteries, external power blocks and charging devices;
      b) the consumable products and accessories (packing, cases, belts, bags, grids, blades, flasks, plates, supports, racks, roasting racks, hoses, tubes, brushes, attachments, dust containers, filters, odor absorbers).

    • for battery-operated devices: use of incompatible or discharged batteries, or any impairments caused by discharged or leaky batteries (we recommend to use only high-quality batteries);

    • for battery-powered devices – any damages coursed by battery charging and recharging rules violation.

    • for shavers: crumpled or ruptured safety mesh;

  5. This guarantee is provided by the manufacturer in addition to the customer’s rights, stipulated by the current legislation, and does not restrict them.

  6. The manufacturer is not responsible for possible harm, caused directly or indirectly by «RONDELL» products to people, pets, consumer’s property and/or other third parties in case if it has happened due to violation of rules and operating conditions, installation of the unit; intended and/or careless actions (inactions) of a consumer and/or other third parties, the effect of force majeure circumstances.
