WARNING
This furnace is not designed for use in mobile homes, trailers, or
recreational vehicles. Such use could result in property damage and/or death.
The 58SP0B/58SP1B 4-way Multipoise Gas Furnaces feature Carrier’s QuieTech™ noise reduction system for quiet induced draft operation. Applications are easy with our 4-way multiple design, through-the-furnace downflow venting, 13 different venting options, and easy service access. An inner blower door is provided for tighter sealing in sensitive applications. The 58SP0B/58SP1B furnaces are factory-shipped for use with natural gas and convertible to propane with an approved accessory kit. The 58SP1B – Low NOx units are designed for California installations and meet 40 ng/J NOx emission limits. Can be installed in air quality management districts with a 40 ng/J NOx emissions limit.

- 20-year heat exchanger limited warranty and 10-year parts limited warranty with timely registration* Equipment must be registered within 90 days of original installation, except in jurisdictions where warranty benefits cannot be conditioned on registration.
- Applies to the original purchaser/homeowner and is not available to subsequent owners except in jurisdictions where laws dictate otherwise. This furnace is InteliSense capable when used with an ecobee for Carrier smart thermostat with InteliSense technology. IntelliSense technology allows for the collection of performance data to be sent to the cloud. Utilizing Carrier’s digital tools, dealers can gather system settings and equipment data, with homeowner opt-in, to provide quicker and more efficient service.

NOTE:
- A filter is required for each return-air inlet. Airflow performance included 3/4-in. (19 mm) washable filter media such as contained in a factory-authorized accessory filter rack. See accessory list. To determine airflow performance without this filter, assume an additional 0.1-in. w.c. available external static pressure.
- Adjust the blower airflow setting as necessary for the proper air temperature rise for each installation.
- Airflows over 1800 CFM require ba ottom return, two-side return, or bottom and side return. A minimum filter size of 20” x 25” (508 x 635 mm) is required.
- For upflow applications, air entering from one side into both the side of the furnace and a return air base counts as a side and bottom return
- The – entry indicates unstable operating conditions

VENTING CONFIGURATIONS
Venting notes
- For common vent, vent connector sizing, and vent material: the United States, the latest edition of the National Fuel Gas Code (NFGC), ANSI Z223.1/NFPA 54.
- Immediately increase to 5-in. (127 mm) vent connector outside furnace casing when a 5-in. (127 mm) vent connector is required, refer to Note 1.
- Side outlet vents for upflow and downflow installations must use Type B vent immediately after exiting the furnace, except when the Downflow Vent Guard is used in the downflow position.
- Type B vent where required, refer to Note 1.
- 4-in. (102 mm) single wall vent must be used inside the furnace casing and the Downflow Vent Guard Kit.
- An accessory Downflow Vent Guard Kit is required in downflow installations with bottom vent configuration.
- A Chimney Adapter Kit is required for exterior masonry chimney applications. Refer to Chimney Adapter Kits for sizing and complete application details.
- Secure vent connector to furnace elbow with (2) corrosion-resistant sheet metal screws, space approximately 180 apart.
- Secure all other single wall vent connector joints with (3) corrosion-resistant screws spaced approximately 120 apart. Secure Type B vent connectors per the connector manufacturer’s recommendations.
