READ CAREFULLY BEFORE INSTALLING FIXTURE. RETAIN THESE INSTRUCTIONS FOR FUTURE
REFERENCE.
RAB fixtures must be wired in accordance with the National Electrical Code and
all applicable local codes. Proper grounding is required for safety. THIS
PRODUCT MUST BE INSTALLED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE APPLICABLE INSTALLATION CODE
BY A PERSON FAMILIAR WITH THE CONSTRUCTION AND OPERATION OF THE PRODUCT AND
THE HAZARDS INVOLVED.
WARNING: Make certain power is OFF before installing or maintaining
fixture. No user serviceable parts inside.
CAUTION: For proper weatherproof function all gaskets must be seated
properly and all screws inserted and tightened firmly. Apply weatherproof
silicone sealant between mounting surface and back housing. This is especially
important with an uneven wall surface. Silicone all plugs and unused conduit
entries.
MOUNTING FIXTURE TO SURFACE
- Fixture should not be recessed. Mount Fixture to surface with Lens facing down as shown in Fig. 1.
- Use the Drill Template on the inside Back Housing surface to match most standard junction boxes or utilize Lag Bolt Locations (4) as shown in Fig. 2 to mount the fixture to surface.
- Open fixture Door by loosening Screws (2) and remove Reflector by loosening Screws (2). Reflector will hang by preinstalled Tether Cable as shown in Fig. 3.
- Prepare the housing for use by drilling out the appropriate desired mounting hole pattern inside of the Back Housing (Fig. 1).
- Line up the housing in the desired location and mount securely.
- Make electrical connections as show in wiring diagram (Fig. 7). Use approved wiring connectors and appropriate wiring method and wire to local NEC codes. Be careful not to pinch the wires.
- Re-install the Reflector and secure with Screws (2) back into it’s original position as shown in Fig. 4 and re-install the fixture Door, secure with (2) Screws.
FIELD ADJUSTMENT
Photocell Operation:
This product is equipped with a photocell. Photocell factory setting is set to
the “OFF” position. Should you wish to enable the Photocell “ON ” feature
slide the center switch to the “ON ” position (Fig 6). If the Photocell is set
to the “ON” position and it is daylight it may take up to 60-seconds for the
light to turn off.
Color Temperature (CCT ) Selection:
This product is equipped with 5000K, 4000K or 3000K CCT Color Temperature
selection. For maximum light output use the 4000K Color Temperature (CCT ).
Power (%) Selection:
This product is equipped with 50%, 75% and 100% power output selection.
Follow instructions to change Photocell ON/OFF operation, Color Temperature
(CCT ) and/or Power (%) from factory settings by removing Clear Threaded Plug
(Fig. 5) on side of housing. Factory Settings: 100% Power, 4000K CCT,
Photocell/OFF
- Locate the Selector Switches on side of housing as shown in Fig. 6.
- Select Color Temperature (CCT ), Power (%) and/or Photocell ON/OFF function by sliding the respective switch to the desired value (Fig. 6). Replace the Clear Threaded Plug.
MVS MODELS (Internal)
(optional remote sold separately for custom settings, CAT# MSR1).
Factory Settings:
- Brightness: 100%
- Hold Time: 20 Minutes
- Daylight: Disabled
- Sensitivity: 100%
- Stand-by dimming level: 20%
- Stand-by time: 1 Minute
Detection Coverage
Highest mounting height is 20ft This figure indicates the maximum distance at
the highest mounting height with 100% sensitivity. 0-10V DIMMABLE WIRING
Universal voltage driver permits operation at 120V through 277V, 50 or 60 Hz.
Units ordered with /480 suffix are 480V, 60Hz ONLY. For 0-10V dimming follow
the wiring directions as shown in Fig. 7.
- Connect the black fixture lead to the LINE supply lead.
- Connect the white fixture lead to the COMMON supply lead.
- Connect the GROUND wire from fixture to supply ground.
- Connect the purple fixture lead to the (V+) DIM lead.
- Connect the pink fixture lead to the (V-) DIM lead.
- Cap the yellow fixture lead if present. Do NOT connect.
NOTE: Do not connect DIM V+ (purple)/ DIM V- (pink) to line voltage or supply ground.
TROUBLESHOOTING
- Check that the line voltage at the fixture is correct. Refer to wiring directions.
- Is the fixture grounded properly?
- Be sure the photocell, if used, is functioning properly.
CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
CAUTION: Be sure fixture temperature is cool enough to touch.
Do not clean or maintain while fixture is energized.
- Clean lens with non-abrasive glass cleaning solution.
- Do not open the fixture to clean the LED. Do not touch the LED.
Note: These instructions do not cover all details or variations in equipment nor do they provide for every possible situation during installation, operation or maintenance.
BATTERY BACKUP MODELS
WIRING (WPX2, WPX3 Models only)
CAUTION: FOR BATTERY BACKUP FIXTURE. Voltage can be present in BATTERY.
To prevent high voltage from being present on output leads, Inverter connector
must be open. Do not join BATTERY connector until installation is complete.
NOTE: Make sure that the necessary branch circuit wiring is available. An
UNSWITCHED AC source of power is required.
The emergency driver must be fed from the same branch circuit as the LED
driver. Reference Fig. 8 for wiring diagram.
CAUTION: Do not use any supply voltage other than 120-277V, 50/60Hz.
- Connect UNSWITCHED HOT fixture lead to HOT AC supply line.
- If using an UNSWITCHED circuit, connect UNSWITCHED and SWITCHED lines together.
- If using a SWITCHED circuit, connect SWITCHED HOT lead to the switch.
- For 0-10V dimming, connect DIM (+) purple and DIM (-) pink leads to 0-10V dimming connection.
- All unused leads must be capped and insulated.
- After installation is complete connect the battery as shown in Fig. 8.
- When power is on, the fixture should be on and the CHARGING INDICATOR LIGHT should illuminate to indicate the battery is charging.
- Once the BATTERY has charged for at least one hour, a short duration test may be performed by pressing the Test Button as shown in Fig. 9.
- After the battery has charged for 24 hours, a long duration test can be performed by disconnecting power to the fixture.
OPERATION
- When AC power is applied the charging indicator light is illuminated indicating that the BATTERY is being charged.
- When power fails the standby power automatically switches to emergency power (internal battery) operating at reduced illumination.
- When AC power is restored the emergency driver automatically returns to charging mode.
MAINTENANCE
Although no routine maintenance is required to keep the emergency driver functional, it should be checked periodically to ensure that it is working. The following schedule is recommended:
- Visually inspect the charging indicator light monthly. It should be illuminated
- Test the emergency operation of the fixture at 30-day intervals for a minimum of 30 seconds.
- Conduct a 90-minute discharge test once a year. Fixture would operate at reduced illumination for a minimum of 90 minutes.
TROUBLESHOOTING
- Be sure the fixture is grounded properly.
- If the charging indicator light does not illuminate after pressing and releasing the Test Button (Fig. 9), check power and check if battery is connected properly.
