Safety & Maintenance

Proper Usage Precautions
– Do not use the torque wrench to loosen nuts and bolts
– Do not adjust torque setting beyond marked torque scale
– Do not continue applying force after the torque wrench reaches marked torque setting
– Do not over torque the torque wrench beyond ts maximum capacity

– The torque wrench s non-insulated; do not use on live circuits
Care and Maintenance
– Do not lubricate the torque wrench
– Wipe clean only with a clean cloth
– Store the torque wrench at ts owest setting
– Store the torque wrench n ts storage case
– Re-calibrate the torque wrench at a qualified calibration ab every 12 months or 5,000 cycles (whichever comes first) beginning with your first operation of the torque wrench

Usage Instructions

  1. Pull down the Positive Locking Ring and turn the handle until the torque scale reads the desired torque settings. For example, 50 ft-lbs should read as follows.
  2. Release the Positive Locking Ring to secure the torque setting3. Attach an appropriate socket to the torque wrench’s square drive.
  3. Select the desired ratcheting direction on the Ratchet Head.
  4. Tighten the bolt you wish to fasten first by hand or with a wrench until t is snug.
  5. Apply the torque wrench on the bolt and turn with a slow and smooth force until a click s heard and felt
  6. Release the torque wrench to reset for next use.

Torque wrench s a precision instrument. Click-type torque wrench eats you hear and feel when the torque setting s reached. Test the torque wrench at 30% capacity with a test bolt to familiarize yourself with the operation of the tool and the click prior to using it in a live environment.

It s recommended to perform ISO 6789-1:2017 quality confor­mance tests every 12 months or 5,000 cycles (whichever comes f rst) beginning with your first operation of the torque tool.

Troubleshooting

Q: Why is the click less audible at a ow torque settings?
A: t s normal for the torque wrench click to be ess audible at a ow torque setting. We recommend that you apply force more slowly at torque settings below 30%. For every click type torque wrench, torque settings between 30% to 90%  provide the optimal user experience. If you find yourself using torque setting below 30% often, we recommend that you purchase a model with your frequently used torque settings n ts optimal use torque range for the best experience.
