The manufacturer reserves the right to change the manual without the obligation to update earlier versions, except in exceptional situations.
Keep this manual in a safe place for future reference.

This device may be used by children aged 8 and above, by people with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, and by people with no experience or knowledge provided they are supervised or instructed on how to use the device safely and are aware of the risks involved. Children must not play with the device. Unsupervised children must not clean or maintain the device. Keep the device and the lead away from children under 8 years of age.

This device is designed for household use. It may also be used in similar situations, such as:

  • commercial kitchens, offices and other places of work;
  • rural dwellings;
  • hotels, motels and other residential environments of the same kind by customers;
  • guest room-type accommodation.

While being used, the coffee machine must not be placed inside a cupboard.

Installation

After removing the device from its packaging, place it on its base in a safe location free from other devices and objects that may hinder its handling and where it cannot be knocked over or damaged. Ensure the surface is properly clean, dry and possesses no heating sources.
Before using your device, make sure that the mechanical parts and all of its accessories are in good condition. If you should have any doubt, do not use the device and contact Customer Support. This device is considered suitable for use in countries with a temperate climate. It may also be used in other countries.
Do not use the device outside or where exposed to weather conditions (rain, sun, etc.). Do not place the device close to or on a hot gas or electric stove or in a hot oven. When used for the first time, it is possible that the device will emit an odour caused by the insulation materials and elements subject to heating. This odour will disappear in a few minutes. Some devices may show signs of previous use due to strict quality control testing. Instal the device
according to the manufacturer’s instructions. If the device is incorrectly installed, it may cause material damage for which the manufacturer shall not be deemed liable.

Electrical power
Check whether the electrical voltage at the outlet corresponds with the voltage on the rating label on your coffee machine. Only plug the device into earthed sockets.

Power lead
Do not turn the device on if the lead or socket are damaged or broken. Call the Customer Service Line.
If the power lead is damaged it must be replaced by the manufacturer, the service provider or a similarly qualified person to mitigate the risks. In the event of an emergency, immediately remove the plug from the socket. Do not leave the power lead hanging over a table or counter. Do not allow the lead to come into direct contact with hot surfaces. To turn the device off, remove the plug from the socket by pulling the plug. Never pull the lead.
Take the plug out of its socket when the device is not being used or before cleaning.
If an extension lead is necessary, only use one which is earthed.

Risk of electric shock
To protect people from fire, electric shock and injury, do not immerse the lead, socket or device in water or any other liquid.
Do not touch the lead with wet or damp hands.
The use of accessories not recommended by the manufacturer may cause a fire, electric shock or injury.

Protection of others
Ensure children are accompanied and do not play with the device.
Children are not aware of the dangers associated with electrical devices.
Keep the packaging materials out of the reach of children.
Do not leave the device switched on unsupervised.

Danger of burning
Do not touch the nozzle as it may cause burning. Do not touch the inside of the capsule holder as it may cause burning. Always shut the lever fully and never open it while the coffee is being extracted to avoid burning.

Cleaning
Turn off the device and leave to cool before cleaning. Do not immerse the device in water! Clean all detachable parts with water. External surfaces should be cleaned with a damp cloth.

Taking care of the device
Remove the plug from the socket if the device is not used for a long period of time and keep it dry and out of the reach of children. Keep it protected from dust and dirt.

Repairs/maintenance
If the device breaks down and/or malfunctions, disconnect it from the power outlet and do not try to repair it yourself. Contact Customer Service.
The manufacturer cannot be considered liable for any damages due to improper, incorrect or irrational usage. In the event of inappropriate use or failure to comply with the instructions, the manufacturer declines any liability and will cancel the respective guarantee.

Water tank
Fill the water tank with cold, still drinking water only. Never fill the tank with milk, vegetable/ olive oil or similar liquids. Empty the tank if the device is not used for a long period of time.

Capsule holder
This machine was developed to extract drinks using Delta Q capsules. Delta Q quality is guaranteed when Delta Q capsules are used in Delta Q machines.

CONTROL PANEL

  • A Espresso coffee button
  • B Lungo coffee button
  • C Long drinks extraction button/water button/purge

FIRST USE

The First Use procedure is performed only once.
The machine might make a loud noise because the water circuit is empty.
NOTE : DO NOT INSERT A CAPSULE.

  1. Remove the water tank and fill it with water.
    • Remove the water tank and the lid.
    • Rinse the water tank before using.
    • Fill the water tank to the MAX level shown with cold drinking water only.
    • Reattach the lid and reinsert the water tank correctly.
    • The water level should never be higher than the MAX level or lower than the MIN level.
  2. Turn the machine on.
    • Plug the lead into the socket. Press the Espresso button.
    • The Espresso button will go steady green. The other buttons will remain off. Place a container (with a capacity over 180 cc) on the cup support.
    • Press the Espresso button.
    • The machine will start the cleaning procedure. The cleaning procedure may take up to 3 minutes. The Espresso button will flash green.
    • Once the cleaning procedure is complete, the Espresso button will go off. The three extraction buttons will remain off.
  3. Heating up
    • Press any extraction button to start heating up the machine.
    • A white light will illuminate the Delta Q logo;
    • The extraction buttons will flash for about 1 minute.

Ready to use:
After reaching the right temperature, buttons A, B and C will turn green.

If no water comes out of the machine, please repeat the First Use procedure up to step 2. If no water comes out on the second try, please contact our Customer Service Line.

USING YOUR COFFEE MACHINE

EXTRACTING A COFFEE / LUNGO COFFEE / LONG DRINKS
The machine will only extract a coffee when it has reached the correct temperature.

  1. Place a cup under the nozzle.
    The cup support can be adjusted according to the size of cup used.

  2. Raise the lever and insert a capsule.

    • Raise the lever all the way up.
    • Insert a Delta Q coffee capsule into the capsule holder according to the shape of the hole.
    • Lower the lever all the way down.
      Never insert fingers or objects into the hole of the capsule holder.
  3. Press the button to extract the coffee.
    Whenever extracting a different type of drink (coffee/long drink), first purge the machine.

Espresso

  • Press button A.
  • The lights on buttons B and C will go out.
  • Button A will start to flash with a green light during extraction.
  • After extraction, the machine will return to ready to use mode.
  • Standard extraction volume: approx. 30 cc

Lungo

  • Press button B.
  • The lights on buttons A and C will go out.
  • Button B will start to flash with a green light during extraction.
  • After extraction, the machine will return to ready to use mode.
  • Standard extraction volume: approx. 45 cc

Long drinks

  • Press button C.
  • The lights on buttons A and B will go out.
  • Button C will start to flash with a green light during extraction.
  • After extraction, the machine will return to ready to use mode.
  • Standard extraction volume: approx. 180 cc

The preparation of drinks can be interrupted or stopped by pressing any of the extraction buttons.
Never lift the lever to open the capsule holder during this process.

STANDBY/ PROGRAMMING THE VOLUME

STANDBY
If the machine is not used for 3 minutes, the lights on buttons A, B and C will go out.
Press any button (A, B or C) to return to the ready to use mode. The machine will automatically heat up the system.

Removing the drip tray will not wake the device up.

PROGRAMMING THE VOLUME
Programming the espresso extraction button

  • When in ready to use mode, press button A for more than 3 seconds.
  • Button A will light up green and buttons B and C will start to flash green.
  • Insert a Delta Q capsule into the capsule holder.
  • Press button A to start the espresso extraction process.
  • The button A will start to flash.
  • Press button A again to stop the extraction process.
  • The machine will memorise the volume extracted.
  • Button A will then extract this new volume.
  • After extraction, the machine will return to ready to use mode.

If no button is pressed for 1 minute, the machine will return to ready to use mode and will memorise the last volume set.
If button A is not pressed to stop the extraction process, the machine will automatically stop when it reaches approximately 75cc.

Programming the lungo extraction button

  • The steps are the same as for predefining an espresso.
  • Press button B instead of button A.
    If button B is not pressed to stop the extraction process, the machine will automatically stop when it reaches approximately 75cc.

Programming the Long drinks extraction button

  • The steps are the same as for predefining an espresso.
  • Press button C instead of button A.

RESET FACTORY SETTINGS/ PURGING/ CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

RESET FACTORY SETTINGS

  • When in the ready to use mode, press buttons A and C at the same time for more than 3 seconds.
  • All of the buttons will flash 3 times.
  • The machine will return to the factory settings.
  • The machine returns to First Use.

PURGING

  • Purging the system frequently ensures the quality of the extracted drinks and the correct maintenance of the device.
  • Place a cup under the nozzle and press the long drinks extraction button/water button/purge to rinse the machine without inserting a capsule. The extraction will stop automatically. When the LED light stops flashing, the machine is Ready to Use.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Ensure the device is unplugged before cleaning.
To avoid electric shock, do not immerse the lead, plug or device in water or any other liquid. Do not use abrasive or solvent-based cleaning agents.

Cleaning the drip tray and used capsule container

  • Remove the drip tray and used capsule container.
  • Remove and empty the used capsule container.
  • The used capsule container and drip tray can be washed in water and dried with a soft cloth.
  • Clean the outer surfaces of the machine with a damp cloth.
  • Never immerse the machine in water.
  • Empty the used capsule container regularly to prevent damage to the machine and poor functioning.

AFTER A LONG PERIOD OF NON-USE

PREPARATION
Remove the water tank and fill it with water.

  • Remove the water tank and the lid.
  • Rinse the water tank before using.
  • Fill the water tank to the MAX level shown with cold drinking water only.
  • Reattach the lid and reinsert the water tank correctly.

The water level should never be higher than the MAX level or lower than the MIN level.

Turn the device on.

  • Plug the lead into the socket.

  • Turn the device on by pressing any of the buttons

  • Pre-heating:
    A white light will illuminate the Delta Q logo;
    The buttons will blink in sequence (green colour) for about 1 minute.

  • Ready to use:
    After reaching the right temperature, buttons A, B and C will turn green.

Place a cup (min. 180 cc) under the nozzle
Press the Long drinks button to rinse the device

Repeat this step twice.
If water does not come out, remove the water tank and re-insert it in its original position. Repeat this step until there is a continuous flow of water.

DESCALING/ WARNING MESSAGES/ ENERGY AND THE ENVIRONMENT/ TECHNICAL

SPECIFICATIONS

DESCALING
It is recommended that the machine is descaled every 3 months or after approximately 300 Delta Q capsule extractions.

Follow the safety instructions on the Delta Q descaling kit.
Keep the descaling product away from your eyes, skin, machine and surrounding surfaces.

WARNING MESSAGES

  • The three extraction buttons will light up red.
  • Turn off the machine, wait 2 minutes and turn it back on again.
  • If the problem persists, contact Customer Service.

The packaging and the machine contain recyclable materials.

Electrical devices must not be disposed of with unsorted urban waste. Use the appropriate dustbin. Contact your local council for information about available waste collection. If electrical devices are sent to landfill, there is a risk of contaminating the ground water with hazardous substances which could then enter the food chain and be a risk to health and wellbeing.
