Updating firmware on an AC MAX Basic with the AC MAX App
AC Max Basic 11 EV Charger
Note
For the firmware update, the AC MAX wallbox must be supplied with voltage.
On site, your smartphone must have access to the Internet in order to download
the latest firmware.

Install the Delta AC MAX app on the smartphonen

Start the app and search for the wallbox via Bluetooth
Note
If the app does not find the wallbox, the firmware version is too old. Then the secondinternal DIP switch must be changed.
► Disconnect the wallbox from the power supply.
► Set DIP switch 2 to ON. ► Restart the wallbox.
► Search for AC MAX. (Screenshot 1)
► If your smartphone asks for it, allow the app to use the Bluetooth function. (2a/2b)
► Compare the displayed serial number with the one on the type plate of the wallbox. (3) -
Pairing the smartphone with the wallbox via Bluetooth
Note
If the Bluetooth software version of the wallbox is lower than 5.0, the app automatically downloads the latest software version from the Internet and installs it. Afterwards, your smartphone can pair with the wallbox. Follow the instructions in the app. (4 to 10)
The app prompts you to pair the smartphone with the wallbox.
► The passcode for Bluetooth pairing is: 882570. (11) -
Update firmware
Note
If there is no internet connection on site, proceed as follows.
► Close the app and go to a place with internet connection.
► Start the app again. The current firmware is downloaded automatically.
► Go back to Wallbox and repeat step 3 to connect again with to connect the wallbox.
The login dialog for the wallbox appears. (12)
► The login password is: 1234567890123456
The app automatically searches for a new firmware version.
► Start the download and then the firmware update. (13 to 16) -
Save the new Bluetooth pairing passcode and login password
At the end of the firmware update, a new Bluetooth pairing passcode and a new login password are automatically generated and displayed. You will need both to connect your smartphone to the wallbox in the future.

Please save the pairing code and
password for future log in.
Note: You will see a different pairing passcode andlogin password!

Update Bluetooth software
Note
If the Bluetooth software has not already been updated in step 3, this is done at this place.
► As soon as the app indicates this, disconnect the pairing to the wallbox in the Bluetooth settings of the smartphone and update the software. -
Reset the wallbox to factory settings (19 to 22)
► Search for the wallbox in the app, establish the Bluetooth connection and log in to the wallbox. To do this, use a new passcode and password.
Note
If the wallbox is not found after the update, delete the pairing information for the wallbox in the Bluetooth settings of the smartphone. The wallbox is displayed there with its serial number.
► Tap the gear at the bottom of the screen and then tap Reset to factory settings > Reset > Confirm. -
Set the charging authorization mode
Note
The charging process can be enabled by key switch or Smartphone app via Bluetooth. The setting is made via the DIP switch in the AC MAX.
► Disconnect the wallbox from the power supply. ► For enabling with key switch, set DIP switch 2 to OFF. For activation with the AC MAX app, set DIP switch 2 to ON.
Note: Even if the activation is set to key switch, your smartphone can still connect to the wallbox via Bluetooth.
► Restart the wallbox.

Tap on Search AC MAX. The smartphone connects to the AC MAX via Bluetooth.

a. iOS: Tap OK to allow the Bluetooth connection..
2b. Android: Tap Allow to allow the Bluetooth connection. -
The app searches for AC MAX nearby. Tap on the AC MAX. The serial number is located on the type label of the AC MAX.

Screenshots 4 to 10 only appear if the Bluetooth software of the AC MAX has to be updated first. Tap on OK.

The note describes how to proceed.
Read through and tap OK. -
In order to update the Bluetooth software, the smartphone must be disconnected from the AC MAX.
Tap on OK. -
a. iOS: In the Bluetooth settings of the smartphone, search for the AC MAX (starts with „JV“) and tap Forget device.
7b. Android: In the Bluetooth settings of the smartphone, search for the AC MAX (starts with „JV“) and tap Unpair. -
The Bluetooth software is being updated.

The Bluetooth software has been successfully updated. You can connect to the AC MAX again. Tap on the display.

Tap on Search AC MAX and select the AC MAX.

The default passcode for Bluetooth is 882570, then tap Pair.

Once the connection to the AC MAX is established, you can log in. Standard password: 1234567890123456.

The app automatically searches for new firmware.

If a newer firmware version is available, the app downloads it. Tap OK to start the download.

After the download, select the new firmware version and tap Update.

The firmware is being updated. This may take a few minutes.

AC MAX automatically generates a new Bluetooth passcode and a new login password. Note both down!
Tap on OK … -
… To be on the safe side, the app will ask you again. You can also take a screenshot. Then tap on OK.

Reconnect to the wallbox, enter the NEW passcode for the Bluetooth connection and tap Pair.

Enter the NEW login password to log in to the AC MAX and tap Login.

It is necessary to reset the wallbox. Tap the gear on the bottom left to open the wallbox settings.

Tap Reset to factory > Reset > OK. The wallbox completes the firmware update and is then ready for operation.
