• New Pads: 12 in. x 4 in. x 21 in. (305 mm x 102 mm x 533 mm) – Quantity: 2
• New Side Pads: 6 in. x 8 in. x 29 in. (152 mm x 203 mm x 737 mm) – Quantity: 2
• New Center Pad: 12 in. x 8 in. x 29 in. (305 mm x 203 mm x 737 mm) – Quantity: 1
• New Cooling Media: 8 in. x 12 in. x 36 in. (203 mm x 305 mm x 914 mm) – Quantity: 3
• New Water Distribution Pads: Cool-Space 400 – 30 in. x 8 in. x 1.5 in. (762 mm x 203 mm x 38 mm) – Quantity: 2; Cool-Space 500 – 36 in. x 8 in. x 1.5 in. (914 mm x 203 mm x 38 mm) – Quantity: 2

Usage Instructions

Before performing any service or maintenance, disconnect the power supply to reduce the risk of electrical shock.

Replacing Pads

1. Remove screens and old pads.
2. Orient and install new pads, and reinstall screens.

Replacing Cooling Media

1. Remove the retainer bar.
2. Remove water distribution pads.
3. Remove cooling media.
4. Orient and install new cooling media according to the arrow markings on the media. The black coating should face outward.
5. Install new water distribution pads.
6. Reinstall the retainer bar. Do not overtighten bolts.

Replacing Side Pads and Center Pads

1. Remove the retainer bar.
2. Remove water distribution pads.
3. Remove center pads and side pads. The quantity of center and side pads to remove depends on the Big Ass Fans product model.
4. Orient and install new side pads and center pads. The dimensions and quantity of these components vary depending on the Big Ass Fans product model. The black coating should face outward.
5. Install new water distribution pads.
6. Reinstall the retainer bar. Do not overtighten bolts.

Cooling Media Replacement

CAUTION: The Big Ass Fans product warranty will not cover equipment damage or failure that is caused by improper installation or use.

COOL-SPACE® 200

1. Remove screens and old pads
2. Orient and install new pads, reinstall screens

Dimensions: 12 in. x 4 in. x 21 in. (305 mm x 102 mm x 533 mm) Quantity: 2

COOL-SPACE® 300

• Remove retainer bar

• Note: Set the two bolts and two washers aside in a safe location where they will not get lost. You will use them to reinstall the retainer bar.

• Remove center pad

• Remove side pads

• Orient and install new side pads
  Dimensions: 6 in. x 8 in. x 29 in. (152 mm x 203 mm x 737 mm) Quantity: 2

• Orient and install a new center pad
  Dimensions: 12 in. x 8 in. x 29 in. (305 mm x 203 mm x 737 mm) Quantity: 1

• Reinstall retainer bar

COOL-SPACE® 350

• Remove retainer bar
• Remove water distribution pads
• Remove cooling media
• Orient and install new cooling media
• Dimensions: 8 in. x 12 in. x 36 in. (203 mm x 305 mm x 914 mm) Quantity: 3
• Orient according to the arrow markings on the media. The black coating should face outward.
• Install new water distribution pads
• Dimensions: 1.5 in. x 8 in. x 18 in. (38 mm x 203 mm x 457 mm) Quantity: 2
• Reinstall retainer bar

COOL-SPACE® 400/500

Remove retainer bar

Remove water distribution pads

Remove center pads

• Cool-Space 400: Three center pads
• Cool-Space 500: Four center pads

Remove side pads

Orient and install new side pads

• Cool-Space 400: 12 in. x 8 in. x 48 in. (305 mm x 203 mm x 1219 mm) Quantity: 2
• Cool-Space 500: 12 in. x 8 in. x 60 in. (305 mm x 203 mm x 1524 mm) Quantity: 2
• Note: Side pads and center pads are the same size.

Orient and install new center pads

• Cool-Space 400: 12 in. x 8 in. x 48 in. (305 mm x 203 mm x 1219 mm) Quantity: 3
• Cool-Space 500: 12 in. x 8 in. x 60 in. (305 mm x 203 mm x 1524 mm) Quantity: 4
• Note: Side pads and center pads are the same size.

Install new water distribution pads

• Cool-Space 400: 30 in. x 8 in. x 1.5 in. (762 mm x 203 mm x 38 mm) Quantity: 2
• Cool-Space 500: 36 in. x 8 in. x 1.5 in. (914 mm x 203 mm x 38 mm) Quantity: 2

Reinstall retainer bar
