Assembling Fan

  • The following safety guidelines are intended to prevent unforeseen risks or damage from unsafe or incorrect operation of the appliance. Please check the packaging and appliance on arrival to make sure everything is intact to ensure safe operation. If you find any damage, please contact the retailer or dealer. Please note modifications or alterations to the appliance are not allowed for your safety concern. Unintended use may cause hazards and loss of warranty claims.
  • For indoor use only.
  • Household use only. Not for commercial use.
  • To prevent against the risk of electric shock, do not operate or immerse the fan, cord or plug in water or other liquids. Never plug in or unplug the fan with wet hands or while standing in water.
  • Do not operate any fan with a damaged cord or plug. Discard fan or return to an authorized service facility for examination and/or repair.
  • Unplug the fan from the power supply before servicing or cleaning.
  • Do not run the power cord under carpeting. Do not cover the power cord with throw rugs, runners, or similar coverings. Place the power cord away from traffic area to prevent tripping.
  • Do not allow children to play with or around the fan at any time.
  • Do not move or carry the fan while it is operating.
  • Never insert fingers, pencils, or any other object through the grill when the fan is running.
  • Disconnect the fan when moving it from one location to another.
  • Be sure the fan is on a stable surface when operating to avoid overturning.
  • DO NOT use fan in a window as rain may create an electrical hazard.
  • Once the fan is assembled, the grills shall not be removed.
  • Grills can be opened for cleaning only when the unit is disconnected from the power source and the cleaning instructions are followed.
  • To clean the fan, wipe it down with a damp cloth.
  • WARNING – To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not use the fan with any solid-state speed control device.
  • WARNING – This appliance is not intended for use by person (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

  • This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully
    in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.

This product employs an overload protection fuse. A blown fuse indicates an overload or short-circuit situation. If the fuse blows, unplug the product from the outlet. Replace the fuse as per the REPLACING OVERLOAD PROTECTION FUSE instructions (follow product marking for proper fuse rating) and check the product. If the replacement fuse blows, a short-circuit may be present and the product should be discarded or returned to an authorized service facility for examination and/or repair. ASSEMBLING FAN

Pole Installation
Align the interface between the stand and the base. Rotate clockwise to tighten.

Fixed Pole Installation
Align the Fixed Pole with the pole interface and insert it. Rotate clockwise to tighten and secure.

Blade Attachment
Place the blade onto the motor’s shaft while aligning the shaft’s pegs with the blade slots. While holding the blade, screw the blade lock nut on by rotating it counterclockwise.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Front Grill Attachment
Align the front grill’s arrow with the rear grill’s and snap the front grill in place with both hands. Rotate the front grill’s arrow to the rear grill’s and fasten the screw.

AROMATHERAPY

This fan has an aromatherapy option. The fan is provided with a factory installed cotton pad and two replacement cotton pads located in the accessory bag. To use the aromatherapy

  • Rotate the aromatherapy cover located in the center of the front grill counterclockwise and open it.
  • Place a drop of an essential oil onto the cotton pad located behind the cover in the center of the front grill.
  • Align the aromatherapy cover and gently press it into place.
  • After assembling, tighten and close the cover by turning it clockwise.

NOTE: This unit does not come with essential oils. These must be purchased separately.
NOTE: The cotton pad can be hand washed in warm water with a mild detergent. Please ensure it is fully dry before applying an essential oil and placing into unit.
WARNING: Essential oils can damage or stain finishes if excessive amounts are placed on the cotton pad. Ensure only several drops are used at any one time and the cotton pad is washed between applications.

The appliance is only to be used with the power supply unit provided with the appliance.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

DISPLAY PANEL

  1. LED Display

    • A – Fan up and down angle indicator.
    • B – Timing light.
    • C – Circulating air indicator light.
  2. Oscillation Up and Down button: In the startup state, press this key to chose the cyclic switch of up and down oscillation of fan.

    • Timer Off – In start up state, press and hold this key to set the time when the fan will turn off. The timer is in 1 hour intervals up to a maximum of 9 hours and will cycle through the preset intervals. The 0h interval indicates no time has been chosen. 3 seconds after setting the desired time, the time will be confirmed and displayed.
    • Timer On – In the standby state, press and hold this key to set the timer for when the fan will turn on. The timer is in 1 hour intervals up to a maximum of 9 hours and will cycle through the preset intervals. The 0h interval indicates no time has been chosen. 3 seconds after setting the desired time, the time will be confirmed and displayed.
  3. Fan Speed button: Press the button to chose the speed of the fan. There are 9 speeds available including Turbo Air.
    When the fan is running, press and hold the button to enter the Turbo function, and press and hold again to exit the Turbo function.

  4. Oscillation Right and Left button: In the startup state, press this key chose the cyclic switch of left and right oscillation of fan.

  5. Power Button: Used to turn the fan on and off.

REMOTE CONTROL

  1. Timer Button: Used to set the timer function.
  2. Power Button : Used to turn the fan On and Off.
  3. Oscillation Button : Used to set the fan to oscillate up and down.
  4. Up and Down buttons : Used to set the speed of the fan and adjust timer hours when in time mode.
  5. Oscillation Button : Used to set the fan to oscillate left and right.
  6. Turbo Air Button : Used to turn Turbo Air on/off. When pressed and active, fan speed is at 9 max and oscillation at max angle for both left-right and up-down

NOTE : The remote control will operate within a radius of 5 meters (16 feet) and an angle of 30° from the device.

REPLACING THE REMOTE BATTERIES
The remote comes with two AAA batteries. Place the batteries in the remote control before use.

  1. Slide the back cover from the remote downward to expose the battery compartment.
  2. Insert the batteries, ensure to match the (+) and (-) symbols on the ends of the batteries with the symbols inside the battery compartment.
  3. Slide the battery cover back into place.

Notes

  • The fan will not respond if curtains or other items block the signal from the remote control to the fan.
  • If the infrared receiver on the control panel is exposed to direct sunlight, the signal from the remote might not be received properly. Use curtains to prevent the sunlight from falling on the receiver.
  • Do not mix old and new batteries or batteries of different types. Do not leave the batteries in the remote control if it is not going to be used for more than 2 months.

IMPORTANT
Do not dispose of batteries as unsorted municipal waste. Refer to local laws for proper disposal of batteries.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

CLEANING

  • Unplug the appliance before cleaning or servicing.
  • Do not rinse the body directly with water.
  • Never clean the appliance with any abrasive tools, cloths or solvents that will damage the surface.
  • Clean with a damp cloth and wipe promptly with a dry cloth.
  • Regular inspection and cleaning of the appliance is recommended.

NOTE: Changes or modifications to the appliance will void the warranty and may affect the performance of the unit.

REPLACING OVERLOAD PROTECTION FUSE

  • Grasp the plug and remove it from the outlet. Do not unplug by pulling on cord.
  • Open the fuse cover by sliding open the access on top of the plug towards the blades (see Fig 1).
  • Remove the fuse carefully. Insert the top of your tool into the fuse slot (close to the terminal), pry the fuse gradually and slowly without forcing it. If you feel resistance, you can try prying it several times and it should slowly move. When one side of the fuse has been released, then you can remove the fuse completely (see Fig 2).
  • Replace the fuse only with a 2.5 Amp, 125 Volt fuse (see Fig 3).
  • Close the fuse cover and slide the fuse access cover on top of the plug closed (see Fig 4).

If the fan suddenly does not work during normal operation, please check whether it is a problem with the fuse.

NOTE: After replacing the fuse, do not use the unit immediately or use maximum settings as this may damage the unit. Plug in the unit and allow 5 minutes before turning on.

WARNING – RISK OF FIRE

  • Replace fuse only with a 2.5 Amp, 125 Volt fuse.
  • Do not replace the plug. The plug contains a safety device (fuse) that should not be removed.
  • Discard the unit if the attached plug is damaged.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Unit does not work properly after installed

  • The power cable is not plugged or has poor contact.
  • The switch on the body of the unit is not turned on.

Remote does not work

  • The batteries need to be replaced.
  • The remote is being used more than 5m from the appliance. Use the remote closer to the appliance and point it directly at the display panel.

LIMITED WARRANTY

This quality product is warranted to be free from manufacturer’s defects in material and workmanship, provided that the unit is used under the normal operating conditions intended by the manufacturer. This warranty is available only to the person to whom the unit was originally sold by Danby Products Limited (Canada) or Danby Products Inc. (U.S.A.) (hereafter “Danby”) or by an authorized distributor of Danby, and is non-transferable.

TERMS OF WARRANTY
Plastic parts are warranted for thirty (30) days from the date of purchase, with no extensions provided.

First 60 months During the first sixty (60) months, any functional parts of this product found to be defective, will be replaced at the warrantor’s option, at no charge to the original purchaser.

Save as herein provided, Danby shall not be responsible for any damages to persons or property, including the unit itself, howsoever caused or any consequential damages arising from the malfunction of the unit and by the purchase of the unit, the purchaser does hereby agree to indemnify and hold harmless Danby from any claim for damages to persons or property caused by the unit.

GENERAL PROVISIONS
No warranty or insurance herein contained or set out shall apply when damage or repair is caused by any of the following

  1. Power failure.
  2. Damage in transit or when moving the appliance.
  3. Improper power supply such as low voltage, defective house wiring or inadequate fuses.
  4. Replacement of overload protection fuse with a fuse that differs from specifications in User Manual.
  5. Accident, alteration, abuse or misuse of the appliance such as incorrect assembly.
  6. Use for commercial or industrial purposes (ie. If the appliance is not installed in a domestic residence).
  7. Fire, water damage, theft, war, riot, hostility, acts of God such as hurricanes, floods etc.
  8. Excessive use of Essential Oils or fragrance products that may lead to damaging the appliance or finished in the area.
  9. Improper Installation (ie. using an appliance outdoors that is not approved for outdoor application, including but not limited to: patios, porches or anywhere that is not properly protected from the elements such as rain, hail, snow, etc).

Proof of purchase date will be required for warranty claims; retain bills of sale. In the event that warranty service is required, present the proot of purchase to our authorized service depot.
