Assembly Instructions:

Step 1: Install the round handle with spring, steel ring, and plastic washer (in that order) onto the handle’s threads, then screw the handle into the tap in the protractor cutout.

Step 2: If you have a t-miter slot in your tabletop, rotate the disk on the end of the miter bar to fit into that t-slot. [Note that the miter bar fits only 3 /4″ x 3/8″ t-miter slots and U-miter slots. It does not work in non-standard miter slots like those found on Ryobi and Shopsmith table saws.] Step 3: The miter bar has four spring plungers on the side. Adjust the spring plungers in or out with the provided 4 mm hex key wrench to provide a snug fit in the miter slot.
Step 4: Attach the sacrificial wood fence to the middle t-slot of the aluminum fence using the low-profile socket head screws and oval nuts.
Step 5 : Attach the other side of the aluminum fence to the miter gauge face using the two provided threaded knobs, washers, and oval nuts. The threaded knobs go through the two slots of the miter gauge and into the center t-track of the aluminum fence. Note that one edge of the aluminum fence has a thin strip of plastic tape installed to prevent scratches on the tabletop. Install with the plastic tape edge down.
Step 6: Install the flip stop in the top t-track of the aluminum fence using both the washer and oval nut.

Calibration:

Before first use, you must calibrate the Digital Miter Gauge with a 1-2-3 block or a carpenter’s square. Align the long edge of the 1-2-3 block or square along the tool’s miter slot with the short edge against the miter gauge’s face. Then square the miter gauge’s face
with the tool’s miter slot. To set the miter gauge to zero, short press the Zero button. Next, loosen the two small screws on the cursor with the 2 mm hex key wrench and align the cursor’s zero mark with the protractor’s zero mark. Repeat this process when you
change the battery or lose calibration.

Optional Part:

  • 1-2-3 Block – aluminum alloy, blue anodized with laser scale, squareness: 0.001″

How to use:
Once calibrated, the Digital Miter Gauge is ready to use.
Press the ON/OFF button to turn the display on. You can turn it off by pressing the power button again, or it will self-turn off after about 4 minutes.
To set the miter gauge to an angle, loosen the handle, then rotate the gauge until the desired angle is displayed. There are 15°, 30°, & 45° protractor marks on the miter gauge to help you move swiftly to the approximate angle using only the cursor, then use the digital display to set the exact angle.
A short press of the Hold/Flip button will hold the display value, and a long press will flip the display.
The sacrificial wood fence is 1″ longer than the aluminum fence. It should extend outward from the aluminum fence to allow you to support the workpiece close to the blade or bit and avoid cutting into the aluminum fence, particularly with the gauge set to an angle. You can slide the assembled fence left or right by loosening the knobs in the two slots of the miter gauge.

Specifications:

  • Measuring Range: 70° – 0° – 70° (left or right)
  • Accuracy: 0.2°
  • Resolution: 0.05°
  • Miter Bar size: 18″ x 3/4″ x 3/8″
  • 4 Adjustable Plungers
  • T-Slot Disc
  • Locking Handle
  • Battery: CR2032 (included)

On a table saw, a miter gauge fence is a safety feature. If the workpiece tilts into the back of the blade, the upward spin of the blade can lift it and fling it toward the user.
