D-tect 120 Wall Scanner Detector

Product Information

The measuring tool is a device designed to detect electric lines
accurately. It is important to note that static electricity can
affect the accuracy of the measurements. To improve the indication,
it is recommended to place your free hand flat on the wall next to
the measuring tool to remove static electricity. The measuring tool
should be held at the intended grip area only, so as not to
influence the measurement.

If required, detected objects can be marked using the top and
side marking aids. Once you have found the boundaries or the center
of an object, mark the location by connecting both points with a
vertical and horizontal line. The object is located at the
intersection of these lines.

The measuring tool has temperature control and warning
functions. If the device is lifted off the wall, a temporary signal
may be shown. The temperature control indicator will light up if
the battery is not within the operating temperature range or has
been subject to large variations in temperature. In such cases, it
is recommended to change the battery or wait until it has reached
the operating temperature range again. If the display indicates “f”
and “g,” it means that the measuring tool is no longer functional
and should be sent to an authorized customer service agent.

In case the measuring tool cannot be switched on or does not
react, there are several possible causes and corrective measures.
These include checking if the battery pack or batteries are empty,
charging the battery or replacing batteries, removing and
reinserting rechargeable batteries/batteries, or sending the
measuring tool to a customer service agent for service.

If a strong radio signal is detected, it is recommended to
remove the interfering radio waves, such as WLAN, UMTS, radar,
transmitter masts, or microwaves.

For maintenance and cleaning, it is important to check the
measuring tool before each use. If there is visible damage or loose
components, the safe function cannot be ensured. The measuring tool
should be kept clean and dry at all times. It should not be
immersed in water or other fluids. Debris or contamination can be
wiped away with a dry, soft cloth. Cleaning agents or solvents
should not be used. Decals/stickers or name plates, especially
metal ones, should not be attached in the sensor area on the front
or back side of the measuring tool to avoid affecting the measuring
function.

Static electricity can lead to electric lines being indicated inaccurately, e.g. over a large area, or not at all. To improve the indication, place your free hand flat on the wall next to the measuring tool, in order to remove the static electricity. Hold the measuring tool at the intended grip area 10
only, so as not to influence the measurement.
Marking Objects
If required, detected objects can be marked. Perform measurement as described. Once you have found the boundaries or the centre of an object, mark the location you were searching for at the top marking aid 1 and the side marking aid 4. Connect both points with a vertical and horizontal line. The object is located at the intersection of the lines.
