Product Usage Instructions

Device Installation and Connection:

  1. Installation:
    Follow the instructions for ceiling mounting or wall mounting as per your preference.

  2. System Configuration Diagram:
    Connect the Zowie PTZ to a network with a router using appropriate cables. Power the device using the provided power adapter or through PoE.

  3. Connect Network:
    Use a network cable to connect the Zowie PTZ to a network with router or DHCP capability.

  4. Connect Power Supply:
    Power the Zowie PTZ using the DC power adapter or through PoE by connecting it to a PoE network switch.

  5. Login to the Web Console:
    Access the web control interface using various methods like mDNS, IP address, hotspot, device discover, or failsafe IP. Use the provided username and password for login.

  5. Connect network
    Connect the ZowiePTZ to a network with router or DHCP capability using a network cable.

    After the DC power adapter supplies power to the ZowiePTZ, the status indicator will light up.

  8. PoE

  9. Login the web console
    The ZowiePTZ can also be powered over Ethernet (PoE/PoE+) without a power adapter. If powered by PoE, a network cable must be connected to a PoE network switch with at least CAT5e cable. ZowiePTZ provides five quick ways to login to the web control interface.

    After the DC power adapter supplies power to the ZowiePTZ, the status indicator will light up.

    Login ZowiePTZ by mDNS
    Please enter http://zowieptz-xxxxxx.local in your computer or cell phone browser.

  12. IP Address
    The DHCP of ZowiePTZ is on by default. Please connect the HDMI/SDI output to the monitor, the IP address will be automatically displayed in the upper left corner for five seconds after ZowiePTZ is turned on; or click the MENU button on the remote to call up the OSD menu to check the IP address. Enter the IP address in the browser of the cell phone or computer in the same LAN to log in the web control interface.

  13. Login ZowiePTZ by Hotspot
    You can connect to ZowiePTZ directly without the need of a network cable or WiFi network. Connect your mobile device to the hotspot of ZowiePTZ, and it is on by default. The initial password and name of the hotspot are on the back of ZowiePTZ. After connecting to the connecting to the hotspot, your cell phone may indicate that there is no network, this is hotspot, enter http://170.128.88.1 in the browser to log into the wbe console, when normal, please continue to connect

  14. Login ZowiePTZ by the device discover
    If you already have ZowiePTZ or ZowieBox, you can also log in to the new ZowiePTZ by the device discover , logining to the web control page and, click “Settings->Dashboard” to use the discovery feature. After clicking “Scan”, find the serial number of the device that matches the one on the new ZowiePTZ label and click it to the web control of the device.

  15. Failsafe IP
    When the connected network does not have DHCP function or when ZowiePTZ is directly connected to the computer via a network cable, or other unknown errors occur, the IP of ZowiePTZ will change to a failsafe IP (192.168.5.168). Please add 192.168.5.x network segment to your computer to log in the web control interface. For detailed configuration, please refer to the user manual

  16. Control device by mobile phone
    If users need to use their cell phone to login the web control interface after logining the web control interface on the computer side, there are two ways

  17. Please make sure your cell phone is in the same LAN as ZowiePTZ, and then scan the first QR code to login the web control interface of cell phone.
    Click the hotspot icon and scan the QR code that appears to connect to the hotspot. Then, scan the first QR code to log in the web control interface of your cell phone.

Device Operation

  1. Tally Indicator
    When the ZowiePTZ’s Tally light is set in Auto mode and the encoding mode is NDI encoding, if the NDI encoding is outputting to other NDI receivers (e.g. vMix, OBS, etc.) ZowiePTZ modifies the color of the Tally light according to whether the receiver switches to Program Mode (PGM) or Preview Mode (PVM).

NDI connection Compatible software

After ZowiePTZ switches to NDI encoding mode, it supports most of the NDI software to auto iscover ZowiePTZ in the same LAN.e.g. directly select the device you need to play in NDI 5 , Tool.

Working mode

  1. NDI mode
    ZowiePTZ have to two kinds of encoding mode, normal encoding mode and NDI encoding mode. It supports up to 4k30 output and encoding; supports encoding RTSP, RTMP(S), SRT and NDI (HX/HX2/HX3) streams. To switch to NDI encoding mode, please login to the web control interface and click “Settings->System->NDI” to make sure NDI is activated.

    • After activation, please login to the web control interface, and click “Settings->System- >NDI” to click the NDI button and reboot to enable NDI encoding mode.

Local Streaming

Through local stream, users can view the effect of encoding settings in real time on the same LAN.

  1. Click “Setting->Local ” in the web control interface.
  2. Click the icon on the right to copy the URL of the primary or secondary stream

Network Streaming

  1. Click “Setting->Live” on the web page.
  2. Click “+Add” to create a new network streaming task.
  3. Select the same protocol as the streaming address and enter the streaming address and key, if you don’t have the streaming key, you can skip it.
  4. Enter the name of the network flow task and click “Save”, the name will be displayed in the preview interface for operation
  5. Turn on “Test” to start pushing stream.
