Product Usage Instructions

Start Work

  1. Ensure the device is charged or plug in the DC cable (USB Type-C) for power.
  2. Long-press the POWER/MODE button to turn on the device.
  3. Connect the HDMI source to the HDMI IN port using an HDMI cable or plug the SDI video source to the SDI IN port with the included SDI cable (do not connect both at the same time).
  4. Connect the HDMI OUT port to a TV.
  5. Insert an SD card (FAT32 or exFAT format) with sufficient space.
  6. Connect a headset to mix sound with video and monitor audio. Use the included audio adapter cable if needed.

Record video to SD card

  1. Press the POWER/MODE button to switch to playback mode and back to the previewing mode when in playback mode.
  2. Use the UP/DOWN buttons to select the VIDEO or PICTURE menu for playback.
  3. In the file list, long-press the MENU button to access the PROTECT FILE and DELETE FILE functions.
  4. Use the knob to rewind or fast forward, the UP/DOWN buttons to adjust volume, and the OK button to pause.

Turn on the device and transfer files to the computer

  1. Long-press the Power/Mode button to turn on the device.
  2. Connect the DC/USB port to the computer’s USB port using a USB cable.
  3. On the screen, select USB mode for Charging or Transfer. In Transfer mode, you can copy recorded files to the computer.

Update firmware
To update firmware, please refer to the latest instructions provided by the manufacturer.

Product Overview and Connections

  1. Status indicator : GREEN-power on, OFF-power off

  2. Charging indicator: RED – charging, OFF – full charge.

  3. Buttons :

  4. POWER/MODE Switch button Long-press to turn on or turn off the device

    • when the device is powered on and connected to SD, press it to switch between preview mode and playback mode
    • In playback mode, press back to the previous menu
      REC– Recording button Press to start recording, press again to stop (preview mode)
  5. MENU button– In preview mode, press to return to the previous menu or exit the menu. During recording, press to pause recording, and press again to continue recording.
    In Playback mode, press back to the previous menu. Long-press to call out PROTECT FILE and DELETE FILE functions. |

    • OK – Confirm button when works with other direction button orknob to operate the menu.
    • Snapshot – take a photo when previewing or recording a video.
    • Pause – Pause and play when playing the video.
  6. Direction (DOWN). When at preview or playback video, press this to turn down the volume of the HDMI video source.

  7. Direction(UP). When at preview or playback video, press this to turn up the volume of the HDMI source.

  8. KNOB – In preview mode, press to turn up or turn down the volume of the HDMI source. When playing video in playback mode, press to rewind or fast forward.

  9. Headset – 3.5mm 4-pole CTIA headset port, connect to the headset for microphone input and earphone output or connect the included audio adapter to connect 3.5mm TRS 3-pole microphone and earphone.

  10. SD card. To save recording files (support exFAT and FAT32).

  11. DC/USB– USB Type-C jack, power and charge, can also connect to the USB port of the computer to read the SD card in the device (5V2A USB power adapter is not included).

  12. Reset – Use the needle to press it to turn off the device.

  13. Screen – 5-inch screen, to display the video and information.

  14. SDI IN– Connect SDI video source with included SDI cable.

  15. HDMI IN – HDMI input port, connect to a video source with HDMI cable.

  16. HDMI OUT – HDMI output port, connect to a TV or monitor to show video, not necessary only if you need it.

  17. Screw Mount Port – For installing SDIDigito camera or kit with cold shoe adapter.

Start Work

Record video to SD card

  1. First of all, the device needs to be charged. Or plug a DC cable (USB Type-C) to work.

  2. Long-press POWER/MODE button to turn on the device.

  3. Plug the HDMI source into the HDMI IN port with the HDMI cable, or plug the SDI video source into the SDI IN port with the included SDI cable. Please do not connect HDMI IN and SDI IN at the same time.

  4. Plug HDMI OUT port to TV.

  5. Plug an SD card (FAT32 or exFAT format) with enough space.

  6. Plug a headset to mix your sound with video together and monitor the audio. Please plug the included audio adapter cable into the device if you have the 3-pole microphone or earphone, then connect them. |

  7. Press the UP or DOWN button to increase or decrease the device volume – Speaker/Earphone. Press the MENU button,thenselectMicrophonemenutoincrease or decrease microphone volume.

  8. Press the RECORD button to record, press again to stop recording, and save the file to the SD card.

  9. During recording, press the MENU button to pause recording, and press again to continue recording.

  10. During recording or previewing, press the OK button to take a picture (snapshot).

  11. On previewing, press the MENU button to set the device, you can set:

    • Power Save – Auto turn off the screen after 10 minutes or 30 minutes, if no operation. If there is no operation in the next three minutes, the device will automatically shut down. If you choose OFF, the device will always work.
    • Quality– Super Fine, Fine, Normal which bitrates are 22M, 17M, and 8M for 1080P60 recording.
    • Microphone – Set microphone volume
    • Date Time – Set date and time.
    • Language – Set menu language.
    • Date Stamp – Add a date stamp watermark on a recorded video file.
    • Scheduled Recording – The device will automatically record video according to your settings, like one time only or every day, start recording time and stop recording time.
    • System – Can reset to factory settings, check system information, and view SD card information. Format – To format the SD card.

Playback the video files on an SD card

  • Press the POWER/MODE button to switch to playback mode, and back to the previewing mode when the device is in playback mode.
  • Please press the UP/DOWN button to select the VIDEO or PICTURE menu to playback.
  • At the video or picture file list, the Long-press MENU button calls out the PROTECT FILE and DELETE FILE functions.
  • Turntheknob to Rewind or Fast Forward, press the UP/DOWN button to adjust volume, and press the OK button to pause.

Turn on the device and transfer files to the computer
Long-press Power/Mode button to turn on the device and connect the DC/USB port to the USB port of the computer by USB cab and le, and the screen will show your USB mode select Charging or Transfer. Select Transfer mode, you can copy the recorded files to the computer. Select Charging mode, the device will be turned off and charged.

Update firmware

Download the firmware to get 279.BRN and FY-KEY files, and copy them into a blank SD card. Make sure the device is on power off status, insert the SD card in, and then power on the device. The screen willyourpon your FW ISP, which means the device is updating. The screen will become black after updating is finished. Power off and power on the device again, and check the new firmware version on MENU – SYSTEM – SYSTEM INFORMATION.
Note: If the device goes dead, use a needle (stick) to press the RESET key on the product back first, then long-press the Power/Mode button to turn it on again.
Note: If you use a power adapter to power or charge your device, the device will automatically stop charging when the device temperature is over 45℃. If you need to charge, turn off the device and charge again.
