Installation
Method 1: Extending your Wi-Fi network using web UI
Setting up the extender
Plug the new extender into the power outlet that is close to the router to
turn on. You may begin configuration when the LED light starts blinking in
red.
Extend your Wi-Fi network

Step 1. Connect your router to the extender’s SSID Prolink_XXXX (which can be found on the product label). Ensure that the Mobile Data (if any) function of your Wi-Fi device is disabled.

Step 2. You will be directed to the quick setup page after connecting to the extender’s SSID. Otherwise, access http://dh5202.setup (please include http://) in the web browser.

Step 3. Click the Start Now button create a login password for security reasons (recommended) and click Next.

Step 4. Select Extender Mode – default.
Note: The setup guide for AP Mode and Extender Mode is available at https://prolink2u.com/networking/wifi-extender/dh-5202/, under the downloads tab. -
Step 5. Select your router1s Wi-Fi network (SSID) and key in the router’s Wi-Fi password.
Tip: For better connection, please select 5GHz band SSID. -
Step 6. Modify your extender1s SSID (optional), and click Extend.
Configuration progress will show 100% for successful connection

Method 2: Extending your Wi-Fi network using WPS
You can use Method 2 if your router has a WPS button, which may be indicated
by , , or . Otherwise, use Method 1.

Setting up the extender
Plug the new extender into the power outlet that is close to the router to turn it on. You may begin configuration when the LED light starts blinking in red.

Extend your Wi-Fi network
Press the WPS button on the router and the extender (light grey button at the side).
LED on the extender will turn solid green if the connection is successful.
Note: Please check that your router’s network security is set to WPA2-PSK aka WPA2-Personal. (WPS do not support WPA3)
Optimal placement
Refer to the diagram below. -
Connect to the Internet
Connect your Wi-Fi devices to the extender. The extender will share the same SSIDs with the suffix _EXT (For eg. MyRouter _EXT) and password as your router.
Tip: Optimal placement
- For optimal connection to eliminate Wi-Fi dead spots, the placement of each extender should be within line of sight of the next closest device.
- LED will turn solid Green for good connection. Otherwise, shift the extender closer to the router.
