Introduction
The Monolith THX In-Wall Speaker Series was designed to reproduce the dynamics and fine detail of the best home theatre soundtracks and music with the highest level of accuracy.
Every speaker has received THX Certified Ultra-certification, guaranteeing the best frequency response, dispersion, and distortion levels. The THX Certification guarantees that the speaker’s output will sound exactly as the audio engineer intended. You have never heard home theatre sound from an in- wall speaker that is this dynamic, detailed, or immersive as a result of the THX 465IW’s premium drivers, THX Certification, and sophisticated crossover network. Each of the 6.5″ high excursion woofers has a long fiber pulp cone, an NBR surround, and shorting rings to minimize distortion. The speaker can achieve sonic heights and offer precise sound for the best in home theatre dynamics and detail thanks to the combination driver design.
Carefully chosen fourth order Linkwitz–Riley crossover network acoustic filters are used in the THX speaker line. These advanced crossovers are a great option to decrease off axis response faults close to the crossover frequency and minimize sonic frequency overlap as well as distortion. The same drivers and crossover components are used by Monolith THX Certified in-wall and in-room speakers, allowing you to mix and match speakers to fit your space. If you use in-wall speakers for the rears and in-room speakers for the LCR, the Monolith THX family will have timbre matching.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is this in-wall speaker Ultra-Certified as an LCR or only as a Surround speaker?
Whatever the circumstance, the speaker is Ultra-Certified. The speaker, however, was not intended to be used as a surround speaker. The rationale is that, unlike surround sound speakers, which normally do not need this feature, it has a lot of bass capability and the ability to produce bass at reference sound levels. The fact that this speaker is huge, which most users would find undesirable in a speaker used merely to project surround sound, is another drawback.
Would this in-wall speaker work well as a center channel in a large room?
Yes, they will work well as a center channel speaker.
What is the maximum thickness of the wall material that the mounting brackets on the THX-465IW will accommodate?
In order to ensure that 1.5″ can be cleared, the maximum wall thickness to clamp is 1.5″ plus a taste.
I have to “stud out” a horizontal opening with 2×4’s. What would be the ideal size for this speaker?
This speaker is intended to be mounted on an endless baffle wall. If you flip it horizontal and make a room for it, the speaker’s long side will be vertical along the Y axis in your open area. You may make this a comfortable size, and to give the drywall support close to the speaker, I recommend adding about 8″ above and below to a supporting cross brace.
Is there a mounting kit for any of the Monolith In-wall speakers?
No, there isn’t a mounting kit.
Who makes monolith?
Three new Belt Drive Turntables at Affordable Prices have been Announced by Monolith, the High-Performance Audio Division of Monoprice.
Do in wall speakers sound good?
Numerous in-wall speakers produce superb sound. The only thing you give up with a stereo configuration is that the sound quality might not be nearly as high if you install them properly and use a good speaker.
Are built in speakers worth it?
Quality in-wall or in-ceiling speakers have several advantages for a home entertainment system when they are put properly.
Are on-wall speakers better than in wall speakers?
Due to the fact that in-wall absorption doesn’t affect the bass response of on-wall speakers; they sound slightly better. In comparison to box and bookshelf models, in-wall and on-wall speakers offer significant space savings and a more modern appearance.
Do I need a subwoofer with in wall speakers?
Regular speakers can’t reproduce all frequencies; as a result, the lowest tones can’t be delivered, depriving you of a significant portion of the sound. You will be exposed to inadequate bass or overly pressured highs without the subwoofer.
Should I box in my in wall speakers?
Any time you mount a speaker in your ceiling or wall, a backbox should be used.
How long do in wall speakers last?
High-quality speakers typically survive up to 40–50 years before displaying any indications of degradation, depending on the materials they are composed of and the climatic conditions where the equipment is utilized.
Can you put regular speakers in wall?
No. Wall cavities are used by in-wall speakers in their output curve. Regular speakers will sound terrible in walls and they sound terrible coming out of walls.
