TI7000 TELEPHONE INTERFACE

Note : The TI7000 can only be used with a landline, and is only for use in the US and Canada.

The TI7000 links a telephone to a NEXEO|HDX™ or EOS|HD ® system so that one designated headset can also be used to answer incoming phone calls.

WHAT’S INCLUDED

• One TI7000 Telephone Interface
• Two Cables (Cat5 Base Station, RJ11 Telephone)
• One Jack Splitter
• Mounting Hardware

TOOLS/EQUIPMENT REQUIRED (wall mounting only)

• Drill and drill bits (~ 3 th /16inch (4.8 mm))
• Screwdrivers (Phillips #2 and small slotted)
• Wire cutter/stripper and safety glasses

Note : The base station interface cable is short (3 ft (0.91 m)). Mount the TI7000 close to the Base Station.
Wall mount instructions:

1. Hold the TI7000 against the wall and mark the wall through the two mounting holes on each end of the unit (see Fig. 1).
2. Drill two holes at the marked locations (avoid electrical or plumbing obstructions).
3. Insert the included screw anchors until flush with the wall. Use a screwdriver to securely mount the TI7000 to the wall using the included hardware.

Connections:

1. Unplug the store telephone from the wall port and plug the included telephone jack splitter into the same wall port.
2. Plug the telephone into one of the ports on the telephone jack splitter, see Fig 1.
3. Plug one end of the included telephone interface into the other port on the telephone jack splitter and connect the other end to the RJ11 port on the TI7000. See Fig 1 and 2.
4. Plug one end of the included base station interface cable into the RJ45 port on the TI7000. Open the base station and connect the other end to:

For NEXEO, J201 on the base station PCBA. See Fig. 3 for J201 location.
For EOS, J15 on the base station PCBA. See the EOS section of this guide on page 3.

NEXEO|HDX OPERATION

To set your headset to answer phone calls:

1. Set the POWER and RINGER switches on the TI7000 to the ON position (the RINGER switch enables you to hear the telephone ring tone on the headset). The TI7000 status light turns on and remains a steady red (until an incoming call).

2. Log in to the NEXEO base station and go to SYSTEM>SETTINGS. Select Telephone Interface from the drop-down list, see Fig. 4.
   Toggle the OFF switch ON. The recommended default values are set to 10. If necessary, the volume levels can be adjusted using the sliders.

3. Pair your headset (and select name if prompted or continue as guest).

4. When the Select Your Position & Options dialog appears, select a position and check the box labeled:
   Allow this headset to receive telephone calls. See Fig. 5. (Since only one headset can be designated to receive phone calls, checking the box forces any previous headset assigned out of this mode.)

5. The headset (Action) key is used to answer phone calls. Incoming calls will ring on the headset, and the TI7000 status light will slowly alternate between red and green.
   • To answer a call: tap the key once (the TI7000 status light turns a steady green). The headset status LED turns a steady blue while the mic boom flashes blue.
   • To end a call: tap the key again (the TI7000 status light reverts to a steady red).
   • To place call on hold and speak to a lane: Tap the 1 or 2 key once to place the call on hold, this returns the headset to idle mode. Tap the 1 or 2 key again to speak to lane 1 or 2, respectively. To return to the call, tap the key. To end call, tap again.

Note : Fig. 6 shows the location of two potentiometers and a DIP Switch on the TI PCBA. These potentiometers are factory set and should not need to be adjusted, but if they do, unscrew the four screws on the front cover of the TI7000 with a Phillips (crosspoint) screwdriver.
Adjust R58 for the ring level and/or R62 for the voice  level as needed. Clockwise turns increase volume, while counterclockwise turns decrease volume. Call the store phone again to check out the ring or voice level. Replace the cover on the unit when you are satisfied with the ring/voice level.
The DIP Switch is set for NEXEO by default. Switch #2 is set in the ON position, Switches 1, 3, and 4 are OFF.
If using the TI7000 for EOS, switch #2 must be set in the OFF position (switches 1, 3, and 4 are also OFF).

CONNECTING THE TI7000 TO EOS|HD:

EOS BASE STATION SETTINGS

When a telephone and a TI7000 are connected to the base station, the system must be configured for telephone operation.
To do this, you must have an installer password to access the ADVANCED INSTALLER SETUP display on the base station. If you do not have an installer password, call HME Technical Support at 1-800848-4468.
If you have an installer password, proceed as follows:

1. Press the Menu button on the STATUS display to access the MAIN MENU.

2. Press the More button on the MAIN MENU to access the ADVANCED MENU.

3. Press the Installer Setup button on the ADVANCED MENU to access the ENTER INSTALLER PASSWORD display. 

4. Enter the first character of the 4-digit password in the highlighted box in the Enter Password field by pressing the Up button to enter alphabetic characters, or the Down button to enter numbers.
   Press the Right button to move the highlighted box to the next position to the right. Repeat this procedure until all four digits of the password are entered, and then press the Continue button to access the INSTALLER SETUP display.
   Note : If you make a mistake, you can use the Left and Right buttons to move the highlighted box to the necessary position and change the characte Note : Also, make sure the TI7000 DIP Switch has been set for EOS. See Note on page 2 and see Fig.6.
   entered there, or press the Clear All button to clear all entries and start over.

5. Press the More button on the INSTALLER SETUP display to access the ADVANCED INSTALLER SETUP display.

6. Press the Phone button on the ADVANCED IN- STALLER SETUP display.

7. On the PHONE SETTINGS display, press the Phone button to select On.

8. To adjust the telephone outbound or inbound audio level, press the Audio Out or Audio In button and then press the Up or Dn button to set the desired level.

9. When setting the Phone function to On, you must also go to the STORE SETTINGS display to assign one beltpac/headset to receive incoming telephone calls.

10. To access the STORE SETTINGS display, press the Back button three times and then press the Store Settings button on the ADVANCED MENU.

11. Press the Phone Headset button on the STORE SETTINGS display. Use the Left and Right buttons to move the highlight in the Select Phone Headset field, and then use the Up and Dn buttons to enter number of the beltpac/headset.
    Note : If you do not know the headset number, cycle the headset power off and on again. Listen to the voice prompt for the number

12. To save these settings, press the Back button one or more times.

EOS OPERATION

The TI7000 allows you to answer incoming phone calls and talk on the telephone using a headset. To do this, follow the instructions below.

• Power ON: Be sure the power switch on the TI7000 is in the ON position. The status light on the TI7000 will be on steady red when the power is on and there is no incoming telephone call.

• Ringer ON/OFF: If the ringer switch on the TI7000 is in the ON position, you will hear a ring tone in your headset for incoming calls.

• Incoming Phone call: If the TI7000 ringer switch is in the ON position, you will hear a ringtone in your headset, and the status light on the TI7000 will slowly alternate between red and green. If the ringer switch is in the OFF position, you will only hear the ringing from the telephone itself, and you will not be able to answer with the headset.

• Answering the Phone: To answer the phone, press either the A1 or A2 button on your headset. The status light on the TI7000 will turn green when the phone is answered, and remain on steady green while the phone call is active.
  Note : If you move out of range of the antenna during a phone conversation, you will lose sound in your headset. When you re-enter the antenna range, you will still be connected to the caller, and you will hear “Lane 1 (or 2) ready.”
  When using Push-to-Talk mode, keep your finger pressed on the button while you talk and listen. Only remove your finger when the conversation is finished.

• Hanging up the Phone: To hang up the phone, press the B button. The status light on the TI7000 will turn red when the phone line has been hung up. If the phone is not hung up, the TI7000 will automatically hang up the phone after 5 minutes if neither A1 nor A2 button has been pushed since the call ended.
