Product Description

The industry standard for bass output, low distortion, and affordability is the Monolith Dual 12-inch THX Certified Ultra Subwoofer. The Monolith subwoofer releases movie level volume with heart-pounding bass that plays down to well less than 20Hz and has the capacity to transmit and clarify the subtle nuances of music. Upgrade your home theatre system with a Tower of Bass!

This driver’s components have all been designed from the ground up to produce accurate bass with a high output and low distortion. In order to create a driver with exceptional durability and excursion, we created a special hybrid cone that blends long fiber pulp and fiberglass. This combination benefits from the pulp’s greater stiffness as well as the added rigidity and lightweight characteristics of fiberglass.

To assure the best audio quality, THX engineers ran hundreds of various scientific experiments. The tests make sure the speaker can produce sound without audible distortion or artifacts at the high volumes required to attain THX Reference Level. Products that are THX Certified Ultra are designed for large rooms up to 3,000 cubic feet in size and a viewing distance of 10 to 12 feet.

With a design focus on reaching output, precision, dynamics, and linearity while reducing distortion, the Monolith 12″ driver was created from the ground up. enclosed in an HDF-based cabinet with substantial internal bracing and a slotted port that may be used with a foam plug to operate the subwoofer in a sealed mode.

Can you connect subwoofer directly to speaker?

The subwoofer can be connected using an additional set of speaker cables, as shown above, if you’re using it with a stereo receiver that doesn’t have a subwoofer output (which many stereo receivers do). This only works if the subwoofer has speaker-level (speaker wire) connections, like the choices in our Best Budget Subwoofer guide.

Why are there 4 wires to my subwoofer?

There are probably only speaker wire connections in those 4 connectors. In and out are both at two. A built-in filter on the subwoofer can either be adjusted with a knob or is fixed. So you simply cut one of your existing speaker wires in half to connect.

Which way should subwoofer face?

How loud is too loud for a subwoofer?

The following day, 130db in the 30–40 Hz range can harm your ears. The midrange is very uncomfortable at 120dB. 90 to 95 dB is acceptable, but I prefer my transients to reach 110 dB or higher.
