SAFETY WARNINGS AND GUIDELINES

Please read this entire manual before using this device, paying extra attention to these safety warnings and guidelines. Please keep this manual in a safe place for future reference.

  • This product is for outdoor use only. Do not use indoors, in enclosed places, or in or on recreational vehicles or boats. Ensure that there is sufficient ventilation to dissipate carbon monoxide gasses caused by burning charcoal.
  • Place the BBQ on a flat, level, heat resistant surface. • Keep a fire extinguisher handy at all times during use. • Hot fats can drip out of the bottom. Ensure that your feet are clear of the drip area. • If fire flares up due to dripping fat, douse the flames with a fine water spray.
  • Do not touch metal parts until they have completely cooled to avoid bums. The handles will be unsafe to touch during use, unless you are wearing protective gear (pot holders, gloves, BBQ mittens, etc.). • Never handle charcoal after lighting.
  • Ensure the coals have completely burned before removing the ash. Store only when the BBQ is completely extinguished and cooled.
  • Do not use alcohol or gasoline to light charcoal. Use only charcoal lighter fluid, lighting blocks, or other approved ignition materials.
  • This product should only be used by adults. Keep children and pets away during use. Never leave it unattended.
  • Although care has been taken during production to remove sharp edges, you should handle all parts with care to avoid injury.
  • Clean using a sponge and soapy water. Do not use chemical or solvent based cleaners or detergents.
  • Do not use power tools to assemble the BBQ. Do not over tighten screws or bolts.
  • For best results, line the fire bowl with aluminum foil, shiny side up, to make it easier to clean after use. Poke holes in the foil at the ventilation points to allow for airflow to the coals.
  • The BBQ should be fully heated and the fuel kept red hot for at least 30 minutes before placing food on the grill.
  • Do not fully fill the fire bowl with charcoal as it can cause it to become too hot for successful cooking and may damage the BBQ. A maximum of about 3 pounds of charcoal briquettes should be used.
  • Thoroughly defrost frozen meat and poultry in the refrigerator before cooking. Keep raw meat and poultry away from cooked food. • Always wash your hands after handling raw meat or poultry. • Use separate utensils for handling raw meat or poultry and cooked food. • Do not light lighter fluid or gel if you have spilled fluid or gel on your clothes or hands.
  • Small quantities of charcoal briquettes may be added prior to cooking to extend the cooking time.
  • To help prevent food from sticking to the grill, apply a thin coating of cooking oil prior to cooking.
  • Use a BBQ cover (not included) to protect the BBQ from the elements when it is stored outside.
