  • Question: Why Is My Fan Running Loud?

Answer:

If it is the first time you are using your air purifier, ensure that you have removed the protective plastic wrap from the filters.

If you’ve previously used your air purifier, the unit may be running loud if it is time to replace the filters as high amounts of airborne particles can block the pores in the filter and stop the air from moving through it. Ensure that you check your filters and replace them according to the recommended time frames specified in the owner’s manual or when the filter change indicator lights up.

Also check to make sure nothing else is blocking the grilles either in or out of the device. Nothing should be resting on top of the outflow, and nothing should block the intake grille.

Lastly, if the device is on Turbo or Auto mode, it may run the air purifier at a higher fan speed which is louder.

  • Question: The Touch Panel is Unresponsive.

Answer:

First, make sure the unit is plugged in and getting power from an outlet.

Make sure you are touching a functional button and not an indicator light. Sometimes these lights are labeled to tell you what mode the unit is in, but are not intended to be pushed.

On some models, if the grille is not reinstalled properly, the unit will not operate.

If after trying the above, the touch panel still does not work as expected, call our Consumer Relations team at 1-800-477-0457 or email us at [email protected].

  • Question: I Cannot Schedule My Air Purifier to Run From My App.

Make sure you are connecting your app to only the following models: Bluetooth® Smart HEPA Air Purifier HPA250B, Bluetooth® Smart HEPA Air Purifier HPA3850B, or Bluetooth® Smart AirGenius 6 Air Purifier HFD360.

Make sure your smartphone or device is within range of the smart air purifier.
Make sure your air purifier is connected to the app when trying to make the schedule.

Please review your owner’s manual for your unit for additional information.

  • Question: I Can’t Get Power to My Unit/Doesn’t Work.

Answer:

First, make sure the unit is plugged in and getting power from an outlet. Make sure the outlet is not controlled by a wall switch. If the unit still does not work, try plugging your unit into a different outlet.

If you still cannot get the unit to turn on, please call our Consumer Relations team at 1-800-477-0457 or email us at [email protected].

  • Question: Which Filter Fits My Unit?

Answer:

To identify the correct replacement filters for your air purifier, please refer to any of the following:

1. On your air purifier: remove the grille of the air purifier to find the stickers indicating the replacement filters needed.

2. On our website: Find the product page for your model on our website . Filter compatibility will appear under “View All Specifications” section on the bottom of the product page. You can also find filter compatibility and installation instructions in the owner’s manual.

  • Question: How Do I Know When to Change the Filter?

Answer:

Most Honeywell Air Purifiers have a “Filter Check/Reset” indicator that alerts you when it is time to change the filter. As a general rule:

Pre-filters should be replaced every 3 months.

HEPA filters should be changed every 12 months.

HEPA Clean filters (depending on the model) should be replaced either every 4 to 6 months. Please refer to the product owner’s manual for recommended replacement time frames.

Note: These replacement intervals are intended as guidelines only. Performance of any filter media is dependent upon the concentration of contaminants going through the system. High concentrations of contaminants such as dust, pet dander, and smoke will reduce the useful performance of the filters.

Note: the main filters on Air Genius or Quiet Clean Air Purifiers are permanent and do not need to be replaced but should be washed every 3 months according to the instructions in the owner’s manual.

  • Question: How Do I Change My Air Filter?

Answer:

Changing the filter on your air purifier is easy but may vary depending upon the model you own.

Refer to your owner’s manual for detailed instructions on changing the air filter for your specific model.

  • Question: What’s the Difference Between a HEPA or an iFD Filter?

Answer:

HEPA and ifD filters use different mechanisms to filter out microscopic airborne particles.

HEPA: Uses mechanical filtration in which particles are pulled through and trapped in a HEPA filter that is certified to capture up to 99.97% of the following microscopic airborne allergens and particles: dust, pollen, pet dander, dust mite debris and smoke¹ . The pre-filters and HEPA filters are replaceable.

ifD: Uses electronic filtration in which particles are attracted to and captured by the permanent ifD filters. ifD units can capture up to 99.9% of the following microscopic airborne particles: dust, pollen, pet dander, dust mite debris and smoke. The main filter is permanent and washable, but some units also work with a pre-filter to capture larger airborne particles and reduce VOC and odors.

  • Question: How Do I Reset the Filter Light?

Answer: After you change your filter, the “Check Filter or “Check Pre-Filter” light will remain on until it is reset.  With the unit powered on, press the lighted button, and hold for approximately 2 seconds until the light turns off.  The electronic filter check is now reset.

  • Question: Does My Air Purifier Come With a Filter?

Answer: Yes, all of our air purifiers come with initial filter(s) already in the unit.

  • Question: Why Are There 2 Filters in My Air Purifier? What Are The Differences?

Answer:

Most Honeywell Air Purifiers come with both a pre-filter and a primary filter.
The pre-filter helps capture larger airborne particles like pet hair and dust and reduce odors and VOC’s
The primary filter in your unit will typically be a HEPA, HEPA-type or ifD® filter that helps capture the smaller microscopic airborne particles.
