BATTERY REQUIREMENTS: This product requires 2 “AAA” standard alkaline batteries (not included). The use of heavy-duty or rechargeable batteries is NOT recommended.
INSTALL BATTERY: Remove a black portion of the main unit. Slide battery covers off. Install 2 fresh alkalines “AAN’ batteries. Replace the battery cover. Snap black portion back onto the rear of the main unit.
AUTO-OFF: To conserve power, the unit will power off when these conditions are met:

  1. “Current Temperature” is less than 95°F (35°C);
  2. “Current Temperature” has changed less than 35.6°F (2°C) in a 40 minute period.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:

  1. Temperatures display in degrees Fahrenheit (°F) by default. Degrees can be changed to Celsius (°C) using the switch located in the battery compartment.
  2. Press the “ON/OFF” button to power on.
  3. Use the “+” or “-” buttons to set the target temperature for the alarm to sound. Press and hold “+” or “-” for the rapid scroll.
  4. Insert the probe into the thickest part of meat or fowl. Be sure the tip is not touching the bone, gristle, the pan, or inserted into the cavity of the fowl.
  5. Alarm sounds once the meat has reached the target temperature.
  6. Clean probe after each use to prevent cross-contamination.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS: Wash the probe with hot, soapy water after each use. The main unit and display area are NOT WATERPROOF. DO NOT SUBMERGE IN WATER OR PLACE IN A DISHWASHER. Wipe with a soft, damp cloth. Use a VERY small amount of dishwashing soap if necessary to de-grease the housing.
