PROLine HPO25MATT Electric Hotplate
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THE APPLIANCE AND KEEP FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.
- This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as:
- staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
- farm houses;
- by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments;
- bed and breakfast type environments.
- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
- Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.
- The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.
- The outer surface may get hot when the appliance is operating.
- The temperature of accessible surfaces may be high when the appliance is operating.
- WARNING: If the surface is cracked, switch off the appliance to avoid the possibility of electric shock.
- The surfaces are liable to get hot during use.
- Do not place the appliance in or near hot gas or electric burner, or permit to touch a heated oven or m1n1 oven.
- Regarding the instructions for cleaning surfaces in contact with food, refer to the section “Cleaning and Maintenance” on page 5 of the manual.
- Metallic objects such as knives, forks, spoons and lids should not be placed on the hotplate since they can get hot.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
- Put the appliance on a stable, level, heat resistant work surface.
- Do not use the appliance near curtains or combustible materials.
- Keep the appliance away from the edge of the work surface.
- Do not move the appliance until it has cooled down and do not move it while there is anything on it.
- Do not store items on the cooking surface.
- Never cook food directly on the cooking surface. Always use a pan or suitable container.
- Never operate the appliance without a pan on it.
- Unattended cooking on the hotplate with fat or oil can be dangerous and may result in fire. NEVER try to extinguish a fire with water, unplug the appliance and then cover flame e.g. with a lid or a fire blanket.
- After use turn the controls to the MIN positions, and unplug the appliance. Allow it to cool down before cleaning or storing away.
BEFORE USE FOR THE FIRST TIME
Remove any protective coating from the appliance.
When operating the hotplate for the first time or whenever the hotplate has
not been used for prolonged periods of time, it is necessary to eliminate any
moisture which may have accumulated around the hotplate by operating it on its
highest setting for approximately 4 minutes.
There will be smoke and this is normal, but please make sure the room is well
ventilated during this process. When the process is complete, switch off the
appliance and allow it to cool down completely. The appliance is now ready for
use.
PANS
- Use heavy-based, flat-bottomed pans.
- Place the pans centrally on the cooking surfaces.
- Use pans with bases the same size as the cooking surfaces.
- Ensure that the base of the pans are dry before placing them on the cooking surfaces.
OPERATION
Make sure that the controls are set to the MIN positions. A lid must be put on the pan while cooking.

Plug the appliance into the mains socket. Turn the main switch on.

Turn the controls to the required heat settings.
• Use the low heat settings (MIN to 4) for simmering and gentle heating and the high heat settings (S to MAX) for boiling.
• Each hotplate has a control and an indicator light. -
After use, turn the controls to the MIN positions. Turn off and unplug the appliance from the mains socket.

Wait until the appliance has cooled down before moving or cleaning it.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
- Turn off and unplug the appliance. Wait until it has cooled down.
- Mop up any spillage after each use.
- Wipe all surfaces with a slightly damp cloth (and a little washing-up liquid if necessary).
- Do not immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.
- Do not use abrasive or chemical cleaning agents.

As such we urge you to follow the correct disposal procedure for the appliance
and packaging materials. This will help conserve natural resources and ensure
that it is recycled in a manner that protects health and the environment.
You must dispose of this appliance and its packaging according to local laws
and regulations.
Because this appliance contains electronic components, the appliance and its
accessories must be disposed of separately from household waste when the
appliance reaches its end of life.
Contact your local authority to learn about disposal and recycling.
The appliance should be taken to your local collection point for recycling.
Some collection points accept appliance free of charge.
