Grinding degree adjustment
For the best brewing experience, the grinding degree should be set according
to the type of coffee used and your personal taste.
A super fine grind is best suited for Turkish coffee, while a fine grind is
essential for brewing a good espresso; a medium grind is generally used for
moka pots and a coarser grind is most appropriate for filter coffee machines.
The coffee grinder is factory-set to a grinding degree suitable for espresso,
however, we recommend adapting the grinding to your taste and experimenting
with a few preliminary tests.
To retain the full coffee aroma, grind only the necessary amount and remove
the remaining coffee beans in the container before adding fresh beans
- Turn the adjustment knob (7) clockwise for more finely ground coffee and counter-clockwise for a coarser grind.
- The red indicator (8) will help you determine the position of the selected grinding degree.
Warning: the adjustment should be made gradually, grinding a little coffee at
each setting. If the knob is turned of a turn or if the particle size is set
too fine with the motor in standstill, the machine could stop.
Tip: in order to help identify the desired grinding degree, it is best to do
some test runs. First, while the motor is running, turn the knob clockwise
until the burrs are at their tightest position, then turn it gradually
counter-clockwise – grinding a little coffee at each setting – until you find
the position for the desired grain size.
Operations
Note: When starting it for the first time, the coffee grinder has the factory default settings. For subsequent start-ups, it maintains the settings prior to the last shutdown.
