Dual Union Check Valve 2.0
The Dual Union Check Valve 2.0 provides a professional pump and plumbing
connection inside skimmer filter systems, as well as Pondless ® Waterfall
Vaults. The innovative reversible fittings allow for universal application.
The Dual Union Check Valve 2.0 prevents water backflow when the pump is not
operating, while the dual-union, tool-free design makes maintenance quick and
easy. The height is extendable for larger filters
and pumps.

Installation
STEP 1
• Remove the threaded union collar from each end of the check valve (Ex. 1).
STEP 2
• Install the threaded collar and selected adapter fitting on the pump (Ex.
2).
STEP 3
• Install the threaded collar and selected adapter fitting to the bulkhead
fitting on the inside of the filter or glue to PVC pipe using PVC cement in
filters with pass-through plumbing ports (Ex. 3).
STEP 4
• Attach the threaded collars to both the inlet and outlet unions of the check
valve to complete the check valve assembly (Ex. 4).
Alternative Installation
REPLACE OLD AQUASCAPE CHECK VALVE WITH DUAL UNION CHECK VALVE 2.0
- For applications with bulkhead filter connections, simply unthread the existing fitting and collar from the inside of the filter and thread in the new fitting and collar.
- For applications with glued connections, simply cut off the existing fitting and collar (Ex 1), then glue the pipe directly into the new fitting (Ex. 2) and connect the check valve assembly (Ex. 3).
EXTEND PIPING TO INSTALL DUAL UNION CHECK VALVE 2.0
• In some instances, there may not be enough length of pipe to connect to the new fitting (Ex. 4). This can easily be corrected by adding a section of pipe to extend the pipe further into the filter.
• To extend the pipe, simply cut the pipe outside the filter (Ex. 5).
• Glue a PVC coupling onto the pipe (Ex. 6).
• Glue a new section of PVC pipe into the PVC coupling to extend the pipe into the filter (Ex. 7)
• Then, glue the pipe directly into the new fitting (Ex. 8).
• Connect the check valve assembly (Ex. 9).
EXTEND THE HEIGHT TO INSTALL DUAL UNION CHECK VALVE 2.0 CONTINUED
• When installing the Dual Union Check Valve 2.0 in a taller filter, a height extension may be necessary. This can be easily accomplished by cutting a section of 2″ PVC pipe to the required length and gluing it into the fittings using PVC cement. When installing the Dual Union Check Valve 2.0 in a Pondless ® Waterfall Vault (#49000) with one or more Pondless ® Waterfall Vault Extensions (#49001), each extension will require the addition of a 7″ section of PVC pipe (Ex. 10).
Winter Application
When winterizing your pump, we recommend removing the check valve with the
pump and storing both in a frost-free location to prevent any freeze damage to
the check valve or plumbing. One-Year Limited Warranty does not cover damage
resulting from lack of reasonable maintenance or care.
