Elegance IoT Router is a device that combines functions of a Wi-Fi/LTE Router and a Control Gateway, and in such a way ensures wireless network stability for Users, as well as allows them to control operation of sensors and other devices within the Perenio Smart Building Management System.

  4. This device is for indoor installation only. Operating conditions: 0°C to +40°C, 35% to 85% RH (non-condensing).

  5. Specified time period is the maximum possible duration for operation of the device from the battery, when its modules are in a standby mode or disabled. The average operation of the device from the battery is 3-4 hours.

INSTALLATION AND CONFIGURATION

  1. Unpack the IoT Router and plug it into the mains socket using the Power Adapter. Wait at least 30 minutes for the device to recharge. Then, press and hold the Power Button for at least 2 seconds to switch on the device, until LED Indicators flash bright white.

  2. Wait for the boot up process to be completed (LED Indicators on the IoT Router casing will be on and/or start blinking green).

  3. Go to Wi-Fi Settings of your device (PC, laptop, smartphone, etc.) and make sure that there are two access points in the list of available wireless networks (e.g. Perenio-IoT-2.4G-IK9R and Perenio-IoT-5G-IK9R).

  4. Select one of available access points to connect to the IoT Router and enter password specified at the bottom of the device casing.

  5. In your device browser bar, type the IoT Router IP Address specified at the bottom of its casing and press “Enter” to access the login page of the admin panel.

  6. Login to the admin panel by entering login and password specified on the sticker attached at the bottom of the device casing or on the back cover of this Quick Start Guide:

  7. Select one of below Internet connection methods:

    • Router Mode: Follow your Internet Provider instructions to set up a connection;
    • Wi-Fi Client Mode: Select the desired Wi-Fi Access Point from the list and click on the “NEXT” Button;
    • 3G/4G Connection: Insert the SIM Card into a special tray and follow instructions specified on the screen.
      NOTE that if you select Router Mode, you shall make sure that the IoT Router is connected to the Internet outlet of your Internet service provider, i.e. one end of the Ethernet cable is plugged into the Internet outlet, and the other end is plugged into the Internet/LAN port on the IoT Router.
  8. Perform Wi-Fi setup steps by selecting one of the following options:

    • Create two single-band Wi-Fi Access Points (One of 2.4GHz and the other one of 5GHz);
    • Create one dual-band Wi-Fi Access Point (Common access point with a frequency of 2.4GHz and 5GHz).
      NOTE that you will need to enter name and password for created access points. For the Wi-Fi Client mode, the User will be able to create a single access point only.
  9. Login to your Perenio Smart User Account from the admin panel. NOTE that a new User may register his/her User Account from the admin panel, the Perenio Smart mobile app or the website.
    NOTE that device setting up as a router shall be performed from the admin panel only, while device activation as the Control Gateway may be performed from the admin panel or from the Perenio Smart mobile app.

  10. Select Location where your IoT Router shall be activated or create a new Location.

  11. Complete activation process by pressing “OK”.

  12. Login to your Perenio Smart mobile application to ensure that the IoT Router is in the list of available devices.

NOTE that you may now connect sensors and other smart devices to the IoT Router in the Perenio Smart mobile app.

SAFETY OPERATION RULES

  1. The device must not be switched off or disconnected from the mains for at least 5 minutes after the reset button is pressed, as well as for at least 10 minutes after the firmware update process is started.
  2. Do not install the device near sources of increased heat (heaters, radiators, stoves, ovens, etc.), as well as electronic devices that generate strong magnetic or electric fields (microwave, refrigerator, etc.).
  3. The device must not be installed outdoors or exposed to high humidity and high dust content, as this may lead to serious damage of the device.
  4. It is not allowed to use firmware of the device other than that provided by the manufacturer.
  5. Storage and transportation conditions, as well as working temperature ranges shall be observed.
  6. It is not allowed to drop, throw or disassemble the device, as well as attempt to repair it on one’s own.
  7. The original power adapter only may be used to charge the device.

TROUBLESHOOTING

  1. There is no LED indication of the Power Button after the initial switching on of the device: The battery level is too low. Wait for about 30 minutes while the device is plugged in, and try switch it on again.
  2. Unexpectedly, the Power Button starts blinking red fast: The device is overheated. Change its location, switch it off and let cool down.
  3. The device is connected to the mains, but is powered by the battery: The power adapter cable is incorrectly connected (not fully inserted), or an unsupported power adapter is used. Remove the power adapter cable from the port and connect it again, or replace the power adapter with the original one.
  4. LTE connection does not work: SIM Card issues, or the device is connected via WAN, or there is not enough balance to use Internet access. Check operation of the SIM Card, or network coverage area, or refill the SIM Card balance.
