Safety warnings

  • This product is for use indoors only; do not use outdoors.

  • Keep away from water: the device must not be exposed to drips or splashes of water.
Do not use it in a damp environment.

  • The product must not be exposed to sources of excessive heat, such as the rays of the sun, fire or the like.

  • Do not use a power supply unit other than the one supplied with the device.

  • The power supply unit must be easily accessible so that the device can be separated from the mains electricity supply.

  • If you notice an anomaly regarding the power supply unit, disconnect it from the mains electricity socket immediately.

  • To avoid electric shocks, do not tamper with the device or try to repair it.

  • This product is not a toy, and must not be left within the reach of children or pets.

  • Before connecting the devices, disconnect them from the main’s electricity supply.

Installation

  • Place the antenna in a suitable position, for example near a window and or in the direction of the TV broadcasting unit, away from metal objects, electrical equipment and reinforced concrete walls, which would limit its function.
  • Connect the cable of the Meliconi antenna to the antenna socket on the back of the TV set or the digital terrestrial decoder (figure 1). If the decoder is fitted with an F- female type antenna socket, use an F-male / IEC-female socket adapter (not included).
  • Use the AC/DC power supply unit supplied; insert the cable into the antenna power supply inlet and connect the power supply unit to a 230V~ / 50Hz electrical socket  (figure 2).
  • For use on boats or in camper vans, the antenna can be connected to the DC 12V 50mA inlet (figure 2), observing the polarity indicated on the inlet socket. (adapter not supplied)
  • Turn the knob (figure 3) to switch on the antenna and position it for maximum amplification.
  • Check that the antenna is switched on; the LED light should be on.
  • Switch on the TV or decoder and select the desired channel.

Improving reception

If the picture quality is unsatisfactory, or if there is no signal, proceed as follows:

  • Rotate and/or tilt the antenna until you get the best signal possible (figure 3).
  • Adjust the position, extension, and direction of the stylus antennas on the sides.
  • Adjust the gain by regulating amplification; maximum gain does not always correspond to better picture quality.
  • If possible, tuning the channels of the TV or decoder is recommended, by connecting it to another valid signal source (antenna of the apartment block).

Remember that the use of an indoor antenna is to be considered an “alternative” solution for receiving TV channels, so results will depend on the conditions of use and on the strength of the signals able to reach the antenna inside the building.
