C3 HD Backup Camera for Momento R1
Introduction
The Momento C3 HD is a compact, backup camera that connects to the Momento R1 Rearview Mirror Replacement solution (sold separately). Through a simple connection to the R1, the C3 HD camera automatically activates when the vehicle is in reverse gear.

Installation
- Find a suitable location to mount the camera. See below.
- Once you have the camera mounted in your location of choice, route the camera wiring into the vehicle. If necessary, drill a hole to run the camera wiring into the vehicle. If you use this method, please use a rubber grommet to protect the wiring.
- Once you have the camera’s wiring in the vehicle, connect the camera to the Image selector box. Run the rest of the wiring through the vehicle and connect the Yellow RCA (male) to the Momento R1 Video 1 or 2 Input.
Mounting Tips
- Loosen the screws on the license plate with a wrench.
- Install the C3 HD camera bracket behind the license plate. If necessary, adjust the C3 camera horizontally by unscrewing the two screws directly below the camera.
- Replace the license plate over the C3 HD camera bracket, and tighten the screws with a wrench.
Reverse/Forward Image Selection
By default, the Momento C3 HD will automatically mirror the video image for
the backup camera. To choose a normal image for the front camera, cut the
white wire.
Wiring
- You will notice there is a red wire at the power box, as well as the Yellow RCA output. This is the same wire. This allows you to find your power source at either end of the wiring harness. Whichever end you do not use, be sure to insulate with heat-shrink or electrical tape.
- The reverse lamp wire may not provide sufficient voltage to the camera; please use an extra relay.
- Black (Ground) – Find a suitable location to ground the Black wire in the wiring harness.
- By default, the C3 HD’s video output is for HD monitors only. To connect the C3 HD to a CVBS non-HD monitor like the Momento R1, please cut the green wire.
