FAQs

What is the proper way to wire the negative? Only an open connection is constructive, right?****

For your ground, a red and black wire should be protruding from the switch. The lights you want to operate will require their own ground from the battery or simply to the grounded metal surrounding them. My light bar and rear lights use the same ground wire that I ran up to them, and my driving lights are grounded at the mount that secures my lights in place. To protect your switches, utilise a relay when wiring up large lights.

How can a golf cart’s battery not be drained? Ignition wire to wire? If hooked directly to a battery, does the battery metre also always turn on?****

In the circuit before the panel, include a toggle. If not, it will always be on. Although there won’t be much of a battery waste from the LED display, it’s wonderful to have the option to turn it off entirely. Because I wanted to be able to operate the speakers and phone charging even when I didn’t have the key, I chose not to wire the ignition

How can I wire the panel such that it won’t drain my battery but that the switches continue to function even when the truck is not running?****

It is feasible, yes. Consider this: if they can construct and wire an automobile, then you can simply tap into the hot from your ignition switch. Thus, there won’t be any battery drain when you turn off the car and remove the keys. Alternately, use the stereo’s memory wire. Keep in mind that they are merely SWITCHES. There won’t be a problem once they are plugged up and operating, except you forget to turn off one of the devices.

How is the voltmeter wired?****

You already have the voltmeter hooked into the switches. You will only need to connect one positive wire and one negative wire. There is a positive output fin for each switch that you can connect to.

Are all USB chargers the same voltage?****

Not all USB chargers, cables, and connectors are created equal. For instance, some wall chargers can deliver more power than others, and the power of a specific USB port on a laptop may differ from the power of the others, or some PCs can charge while they are in sleep mode. You should also think about amps.
