Important Safety Instructions

Electrical information and warning symbols for Yorkville products are located on the rear electrical panel of the unit adjacent to the electrical plug or on the bottom of the unit along with other product compliance information.

Symbols

This lightning flash with arrowhead symbol within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the user to the presence of uninsulated “dangerous voltage” within the product’s enclosure that may be of sufficient magnitude to constitute a risk of electric shock.
WARNING: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK, DO NOT REMOVE COVER (OR BACK) AS THERE ARE NO USERSERVICEABLE PARTS INSIDE. REFER SERVICING TO QUALIFIED PERSONNEL.

The exclamation point within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the user to the presence of important operating and maintenance instructions in the literature accompanying the appliance.

CAUTION: To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not expose this appliance to rain and moisture. Do not expose this device to dripping or splashing liquids and no object filled with liquids, such as vases, should be placed on the device.
CAUTION: These service instructions are for use by qualified service personnel only. To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not perform any servicing other than that contained in the operation instructions. Qualified service personnel must perform repairs.

  9. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade and the third prong are provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet.
  10. Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched, particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the device.
  11. Use only attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.
  12. Unplug this device during lightning storms or when unused for long periods.
  13. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the device has been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the device, the device has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.
  14. The MAINS plug or an appliance coupler is used as the disconnect device, the disconnect device shall remain readily operable.
     Use only with the cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table specified by the manufacturer, or sold with the apparatus. When a cart is used, use caution when moving the cart/apparatus combination to avoid injury from tip-over.
     Correct Disposal of this product. This marking indicates that this product should not be disposed with other household wastes throughout the EU. To prevent possible harm to the environment or human health from uncontrolled waste disposal, recycle it responsibly to promote the sustainable reuse of material resources. To return your used device, please use the return and collection systems or contact the retailer where the product was purchased. They can take this product for environmentally safe recycling.
     This equipment is a Class II or double insulated electrical appliance. It has been designed in such a way that it does not require a safety connection to electrical earth.

  1. Woofer: 3.5-inch

  2. Tweeter: 0.75-inch silk domed tweeter

  3. Volume Knob: Adjusts the overall output level and also turns the monitor on and off.

  4. Aux Input: Connect a line-level signal from an MP3 player, smart phone or other signal source

  5. Phones Output: Connect stereo headphones here. The “phone” jack mutes the sound coming out of the speakers and redirects it to your headphone

  6. Bluetooth pair button: Press and hold to pair with a Bluetooth device.

  7. TRS Input: This jack accepts 1/4-inch connections with either balanced or unbalanced wiring.

  8. RCA Input: This connector accepts line-level signals from audio sources with unbalanced RCA-style outputs.

  9. Power Connector: This socket accepts a standard IEC-type power cable.

  10. Power Switch: Turns the monitor on and off.

  11. Bass Reflex Port: The hole in the rear panel is a bass reflex port. It is designed to discharge very low frequency signals and enhance the overall bass response.

  12. Wire Terminals: Connect black (-) and red (+) speaker wires from the powered monitor’s +/- spring clips to the passive monitor’s +/- spring clips.

Connecting the speakers

Connect the active speaker and passive speaker with the included connecting cable (red cable to red wire clamp, and black cable to the black).

The monitors have a variety of inputs for use with a multitude of devices. Soundcards or other devices with RCA line outputs can be connected to the RCA inputs on your left speaker’s back panel. Professional audio devices with balanced or unbalanced 1/4-inch outputs should be connected to the 1/4-inch TRS back panel inputs. If your soundcard or portable music player has an 1/8-inch output, you can connect it to the front panel aux input, using the provided 1/8-inch to 1/8-inch cable.

Connect to A.C. Power Outlet

Please connect the A.C. power plug to the correct A.C. voltage outlet. Before connecting power, please make sure that the On/Off switch on the back is set to the off position.

Bluetooth Pairing

Perform the following steps to pair your mobile device with the speakers.

  1. Flip the Power Switch on the real panel of the Master Speaker to the ON position. The LED Power indicator on the front panel is on blue.
  2. Press for 3 seconds the Bluetooth Pairing Button on the rear panel of the Master Speaker. The LED indicator on the front panel will begin flashing, indicating that the speaker is in Bluetooth pairing mode.
  3. Open the Bluetooth setting on your mobile device, then scan for nearby Bluetooth devices.
  4. Locate and select the YSM3BT entry. The LED indicator will remain illuminated is on white. Indicating that the Bluetooth connection has been successfully made.

Note that the output of the speakers is the sum of all inputs. Unless you
specifically want to listen to a mix of different sources, only one audio input
should be in active use at a time.

Unlimited Warranty

Yorkville’s two and ten-year unlimited warranty on this product is transferable and does not require registration with Yorkville Sound or your dealer. If this product should fail for any reason within two years of the original purchase date (ten years for the wooden enclosure), simply return it to your Yorkville dealer with original proof of purchase and it will be repaired free of charge. This includes all Yorkville products, except for the YSM Series studio monitors, Coliseum Mini Series and TX Series Loudspeakers.

Freight charges, consequential damages, weather damage, damage as a result
of improper installation, damages due to exposure to extreme humidity, accident or natural disaster are excluded under the terms of this warranty. Warranty does not cover consumables such as vacuum tubes or par bulbs. See your Yorkville dealer for more details. Warranty valid only in Canada and the United States.
