- Start the programme without adding any laundry (with empty drum).
- See section “DAILY USE” for more information on how to select and start a programme.
DAILY USE
PREPARING THE LAUNDRY
Empty Pockets
- Coins, paper clips, etc. could damage the load and the washing machine components.
- Tissues will break down during the wash cycle, and the fragments will have to be subsequently removed by hand.
Close all zippers, buttons, and hooks. Tie all ribbons or belts
- Insert the smaller garments (e.g. nylon hosiery, belts, etc.) and garments with hooks (e.g. braziers) into a fabric bag or a pillowcase with a zipper. Remove any rings from curtains, or else place the curtains inside a fabric bag together with the rings.
Rules for separating laundry
- Fabric type / indications on label (cotton, mixed fibers, synthetic, wool, handwash items)
- Color (separate colored garments from whites, wash new colored items separately)
- Size (wash items of different sizes in the same load to improve washing efficacy and weight distribution in the drum)
- Delicates (place small items – such as nylon stockings –and garments with clasps – such as braziers – in a laundry bag or in a pillow case with a zip).
HOW TO USE THE WASHING MACHINE
-
Load laundry
-
Open the machine lid by pulling it upwards.
-
Open the drum, by pushing the drum flap release.
-
Load the articles one at a time loosely into the drum, without overfilling. Observe the load sizes given in the “PROGRAMME CHART” table. Overloading the machine will result in unsatisfactory washing results and creased laundry. Do not use the flaps to push the laundry into the drum.
-
-
Close the drum
-
Hold both flaps in the middle, the rear flap over the front flap.
ATTENTION: Check that no laundry gets stuck between the flaps, or between flaps and drum. Make sure that the drum flaps are properly locked – depending on the model: -
All metal hooks must be properly hooked inside the rear door flap.
-
The slider of the front flap must slightly overlap the rear flap.
-
-
Add detergent
Add detergent (and additives/softener) into the relative compartments as described in section “DETERGENT DISPENSER“. Observe the dosing recommendations on the detergent pack.
Correct dosing of detergent / additives is important, because:-
it optimizes the cleaning result
-
it avoids irritating residues of surplus detergent in your laundry
-
it saves money by avoiding waste of surplus detergent
-
it protects the washing machine by avoiding calcification of components
-
it respects the environment by avoiding unnecessary environmental burden
Note: Too much detergent can result in excess foam formation, which reduces washing efficiency. If the washing machine detects too much foam, it may prevent spinning, or prolong the programme duration and increase the water consumption (see also remarks on foam formation in the “TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE”). Insufficient detergent may result in grey laundry and also calcifies the heating system, drum and hoses.
Using starch powder -
Wash your laundry in the desired wash programme.
-
Prepare the starch solution according to the starch manufacturer’s instructions.
-
Fill the prepared starch solution (maximum 100 ml) into the softener chamber of the detergent dispenser.

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
For any cleaning and maintenance, switch off and unplug the washing
machine.
Do not use flammable fluids to clean the washing machine.
Clean and maintain your washing machine periodically (at least 4 times per
year).
CLEANING THE EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR OF THE WASHING MACHINE
Exterior:
- Use a soft damp cloth to clean the outer parts of the washing machine.
- Do not use glass or general purpose cleaners, scouring powder or similar to clean the control panel – these substances might damage the printing.
Interior:
- After each washing, leave the Lid open for sometime to allow the inside of the appliance to dry.
- If you never or seldom wash your laundry at 95°C, we recommend to occasionally run a 95°C programme without laundry, adding a small amount of detergent, to keep the interior of the appliance clean.
- Check the condition of the lid seal periodically and clean it from time to time with a damp cloth.
CHECKING THE WATER SUPPLY HOSE
Check the inlet hose regularly for brittleness and cracks. If damaged, replace
it by a new hose available through our After-sales service or your specialist
dealer.
Depending on the hose type:
If the inlet hose has a transparent coating, periodically check if the color intensifies locally. If yes, the hose may have a leak and should be replaced.
For water stop hoses: check the small safety valve inspection window (see arrow). If it is red, the water stop function was triggered, and the hose must be replaced by a new one. For unscrewing this hose, press the release button (if available) while unscrewing the hose.
CLEANING THE MESH FILTERS IN THE WATER SUPPLY HOSE
-
Close water tap and unscrew the inlet hose.
-
Clean the mesh filter at the hose’s end carefully with a fine brush.
-
Now unscrew the inlet hose on the back of the washing machine by hand. Pull out the mesh filter from the valve on the back of the washing machine with pliers and carefully clean it.
-
Insert the mesh filter again. Connect the inlet hose to water tap and washing machine again. Do not use a tool to connect the inlet hose. Open the water tap and check that all connections are tight.
CLEANING THE DETERGENT DISPENSER
Clean the detergent dispenser regularly, at least three or four times a year, to prevent detergent build-up.
-
Press the release button to release the detergent dispenser and remove it. A small quantity of water can remain in the dispenser, thus you should carry it in an upright position.
-
Wash the dispenser using running water. You can also remove the siphon cap on the back of the dispenser for cleaning. Replace the siphon cap in the dispenser (if removed)
-
Reinstall the dispenser by locating the dispenser’s bottom tabs into the appropriate openings on the lid, and by pushing the dispenser against the lid until it locks into place.
Make sure that the detergent dispenser is correctly reinstalled.
CLEANING THE WATER FILTER / DRAINING RESIDUAL WATER
Switch off and unplug the washing machine before cleaning the water filter
or draining residual water. If you used a hot wash programme, wait until the
water has cooled down before draining any water.
Clean the water filter regularly, to avoid that the water cannot drain after
the wash due to obstruction of the filter. Especially:
- if the appliance is not draining properly or if it fails to perform spin cycles.
- if the “Clean filter” indication lights up.
-
Open the filter cover with a coin.
-
Container for the drained water:
Place a low and wide container under the water filter in order to collect the residual water.
-
Drain the water:
Slowly turn the filter counter-clockwise until all the water has come out. Allow the water to flow out without removing the filter. Once the container is full, close the water filter by turning it clockwise. Empty the container. Repeat the procedure until all the water has been drained.
-
Remove filter: Lay a cotton cloth beneath the water filter, which can absorb a small amount of rest water. Then remove the water filter by turning it out anti-clockwise.
-
Clean the water filter: remove residues in the filter and clean it under running water.
-
Insert the water filter and close the cover:
Reinsert the water filter again by turning it in clockwise direction. Make sure to turn it in as far as it goes; the filter handle must be in vertical position. Pour approximately one liter of water into the washing machine via the drum and check that water does not leak from the filter. Close the filter cover.
RECOVERING AN OBJECT THAT FALLS BETWEEN THE DRUM AND THE TUB
If an object accidentally falls between the drum and the tub, you can recover it thanks to one of the removable drum blades:
-
Unplug the washing machine and remove the laundry from the drum.
-
Close the drum flaps and turn the drum a half-turn.
-
Using a screw-driver, press on the plastic end while sliding the blade from left to right. It will fall into the drum.
-
Open the drum: you can recover the object through the hole in the drum.
-
Refit the blade from inside the drum: Position the plastic tip above the hole on the right side of the drum. Then slide the plastic blade from right to left until it clips.
-
Close the drum flaps again, turn the drum through half a turn and check the positioning of the blade at all its anchorage points.
-
Plug the washing machine in again.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Your washing machine is equipped with various automatic safety and feedback functions. They enable failures and needed maintenance to be detected and indicated accordingly. These failures are frequently so minor that they can be removed within a few minutes.

Final spin results are poor . The laundry is still very wet . “Spin/ Drain” indicator blinks, or the spin speed indicator blinks after the end of the programme – depending on the model|
- Unbalance of the laundry load during spinning prevented the spin phase to avoid damages on the washing machine . This is why the laundry is still very wet . Reason for unbalance can be: small laundry loads (consisting of only few quite big or absorbent items, e .g . towels), or big/heavy laundry items.
- If possible avoid small laundry loads.
- Excessive foam formation prevented spinning; select and start “Rinse + Spin” programme . Avoid excessive detergent dosing.
- “Spin speed” button has been set to a low spin speed.
- It is highly recommended that you add other laundry items of different sizes when washing a big or heavy piece of laundry.
Programme duration is considerably longer or shorter as indicated in the “PROGRAMME CHART”|
- Normal function of the washing machine to adapt to factors that can have an effect on the programme duration, like excessive foam formation, load unbalance due to heavy laundry items, prolonged heating time resulting from low inlet water temperature etc. Moreover, the sensing system of the washing machine adapts the programme duration to the size of the wash load.
- Depending on these factors, the duration is recalculated during the programme and updated if necessary .
- For small loads, the programme time indicated in the “PROGRAMME CHART” may be reduced by up to 50%.
