ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
Please examine your product for any visible damage before using/installing it. If you see any damage or suspect a fault, please do not use it, but contact your supplier.
- Carefully insert the brake assembly within the frame (fig. 1).
- Ensure when brake assembly is inserted that both brakes are even in height and the Rollator is sitting evenly on the ground.
- Insert locking hand wheel into the desired height adjustment hole (fig. 2). Ensure that the head of the screw fits into the hexagonal hole on the inside of the tri-walker (see fig. 2(a)) Turn clockwise to tighten (fig. 3).
CENTRAL LOCKING MECHANISM AND USE
- Open out the Rollator frame by pulling the cross bars outwards in opposite directions forming an inverted ‘V’ with the mainframe (fig. 4, fig. 4 (a).
- Ensure your Rollator is fully extended, and check that sidebars are straight and level (fig. 5).
PADDED BACK
- To install the half-round padded back, first line up the ends of the tubular back with the locating points (fig. 6, fig. 6 (a)).
FITTING THE CARRY BAG (SHOULD COME FITTED)
- The Rollator bag should be fitted when the walker is set in the open position (fig. 4 (a)).
- Take the strap situated upon the upper side of the Rollator bag, and wrap this around the diagonal bar of the frame and push the stud fasteners together (fig. 7). Repeat on the opposite side.
OPERATING THE BRAKES
The handbrake on your Rollator works very similarly to a bicycle hand brake:
- To stop, gently apply a gripping pressure to both brakes simultaneously (see fig. 8), this will slow down and stop the Rollator.
- The brakes on your Rollator have a park option (see fig. 9). To operate the park option, push downwards on both brakes simultaneously. You will feel the brake make a very slight click. Your brakes are now in the ‘lock’ position.
- To unlock, simply pull up the brake again, you will hear a slight click as the ‘park’ disengages.
BRAKE ADJUSTMENT
Your Rollator brake system will require periodic adjustment. The brake adjustment is similar to bicycle brakes;
- Fig. 10 shows the brake handle in its default delivered position. Should the brakes need adjusting they can be tightened by unlocking nut A and then un-screwing (anti-clockwise) nut B.
- When adjusted the brakes should work in both normal and in parking mode. If needed then nut B (see fig.10 and fig. 11) can be turned further anti-clockwise, which will tighten the brake cable more. When you are happy with the brake adjustment re-tighten nut A.
BRAKE ADJUSTMENT (CONTINUED)
-
If the brake handles are fully adjusted and more adjustment is required refer to fig. 12. Whereby screw C is unlocked and nut D is unscrewed
anti-clockwise to tighten the cable further or clockwise to loosen the cable. -
Re-tighten the locking screw C (see fig. 12) and then adjust brakes via handle notes 2 & 3.
-
After adjustment, check the park brakes by pushing down on the brake handles, ensuring that both brakes lock in the ‘park’ position.
-
With the ‘park’ brakes OFF lift the two ‘braked’ wheels off the ground and spin to ensure they turn freely. If either of the braked wheels rubs onto the brake arm (see fig. 12), please check for obstructions and repeat the brake adjustment procedure above.
-
It is important that you check brake adjustments on a regular basis to take into account wear and tear. However, brake adjustment must be checked at least once a month and definitely prior to a change of user.
STORAGE
- Grip the sidebar and lift (fig. 13).
- Continue lifting until the Rollator fully closes (fig. 4 on page 3).
- You may also wish to remove the half-round back for storage; to do so pull the silver-colored locking buttons located on either side of the tube lock outwards (fig. 6(a) on page 3), then lift up the back to detach (fig. 6 on page 3).
