Product Information
The Handy Reachers from Aidapt are designed to assist users in
reaching and lifting items from the floor, table, or shelf. These reachers are
made from high-quality materials and components that ensure reliable, trouble-
free service for many years. The product comes in eight different models that
are identified by the following codes: VM900, VM901, VM901B, VM901D, VM901F,
VM901H, VM901K, and VM901M.
Usage Instructions
- Carefully remove all packaging. Avoid using any knives or other sharp instruments that may damage the surface of the product.
- Check the product for any visible damage. If you see any damage or suspect a fault, do not use your product, but contact your supplier for support.
- Place the grip over the object you wish to lift and squeeze the trigger. Ensure the moving finger of the grip and the main frame of the reacher are properly secured around the object and lift.
- Place the object you have lifted safely onto a flat and level surface and release the trigger.
- Always assess the suitability of an item before picking it up; do not attempt to carry heavy or fragile items with your reacher.
- Do not under any circumstances attempt to use the reacher to lift or move hot objects as this could lead to serious injury.
- Clean your Handy Reacher using a non-abrasive cleaner or mild detergent with a soft cloth. Abrasive cleaners or cleaning pads may seriously damage the product beyond repair and should not be used. Always ensure that you wipe dry the equipment after cleaning.
- Make a safety check of the product at regular intervals or if you have any concerns. Check the gripper (finger) section of the reacher and readjust the tension and re-tie the string. Make sure that the string is securely tied to the main frame. If not, repeat the steps above.

INTENDED USE
The reacher is designed to assist in reaching and lifting items from the floor, table, or shelf. It can also be used in some situations as a dressing aid; although we would stress caution is necessary when using the reacher with tights or stockings due to the fine nature of the material of these garments.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Using the reacher is simple, place the grip over the object you wish to lift and squeeze the trigger. Ensure the moving finger of the grip and the main frame of the reacher are properly secured round the object and lift.
- Always assess the suitability of an item before picking it up; do not attempt to carry heavy or fragile items with your reacher.
- Do not under any circumstances attempt to use the reacher to lift or move hot objects, this could lead to serious injury.
CLEANING
Clean your Handy Reacher using a non-abrasive cleaner or mild detergent with a soft cloth. Abrasive cleaners e.g. AJAX and/ or abrasive cleaning pads may seriously damage the product beyond repair and should not be used. Always ensure that you wipe dry the equipment after cleaning.
REISSUE
If you reissue or are about to reissue this product, please thoroughly check all components for their safety.
This includes:
Place the object you have lifted safely onto a flat and level surface and
release the trigger.
- Tightness of all nuts/ bolts/castors
- Other screw-in/bolt-in/push-in components.
If in any doubt, please do not issue or use it, but immediately contact your supplier for service support.
CARE & MAINTENANCE
Please make a safety check of the product at regular intervals or if you have any concerns.
- Specifically, check the tension of the cable string, which attaches to the trigger and gripper (finger) section of the reacher.
- If for any reason the cable string has become slack, carefully undo the string, readjust the tension, and re-tie the string.
- Squeeze the trigger to ensure that the gripping arm fits tightly, safely, and square to the main frame. If not, repeat the steps above.
