Operation

|

  • Before initial use, keep the refrigerator still for two hours before connecting it to the power supply.

Structure and functions

Structure and functions

  • The refrigerator is suitable for storage of a variety of fruits, vegetables, beverages and other food consumed in the short term.
  • Cooked foods should not be put in the refrigerating chamber until cooled to room temperature.
  • Foods are recommended to be sealed up before putting into the refrigerator.
  • The glass shelves can be adjusted up or down for a reasonable amount of storage space and easy use.

Note:
Storage of too much food during operation after the initial connection to power may adversely affect the freezing capability of the refrigerator.

Temperature control

The figures on the do not refer to specific set temperature, but temperature level.
“1” means the warmest setting, where “6” means the coldest setting: the higher the figure is, the lower the actual temperature inside the refrigerator shall be.
Turning the temperature control to “OFF” will stop the refrigerator from running.

Cleaning & Care

Any Replacement or maintenance of the LED Lamps is intended to be made by Kogan.com.

Overall cleaning

  • • Dust behind the refrigerator and on the ground should be routinely cleaned to improve the cooling effect and energy saving. The interior of the refrigerator should be cleaned regularly to avoid odor and mold. Soft towels or sponges dipped in water and non-corrosive neutral detergents are suggested for cleaning, followed by clean water and a dry cloth. Open the door for natural drying before the power is turned on.
  • Do not use hard brushes, steel wool, wire brushes, abrasives, organic solvents (such as alcohol, acetone, banana oil, etc.), boiling water, acid or alkaline items to clean the refrigerator. This may damage the fridge surface and interior.
  • Do not rinse with water so as not to affect the electrical insulation properties.

Defrosting

  • Unplug the power cord.
  • Remove the foods from the refrigerator and place them properly to prevent foods from melting or going bad, then prepare a water container for holding the defrosting water.
  • Pour the water in the drain tray into the water container. It is recommended to use a dry towel to dry the defrosting water on the liner and evaporator, then wring dry the towel. Repeat the operation until defrosting is completed.
  • You can also use the ice shovel to eliminate the frost (use plastic or wooden ice shovel to prevent damage to the liner).
  • You can also use the appropriate amount of hot water to speed up defrosting, using the dry towel to dry the water after defrosting.
  • Put all foods back and power on the appliance again.

When not in use

  • In case of a power failure, even if it is in summer, foods inside the appliance can be kept for several hours; during the power failure, keep door opening to a minimum and do not add additional food to the appliance.
  • If unused for an extended period, the appliance should be unplugged and then cleaned; leave the doors open to prevent odors.
  • Before the refrigerator is moved, take all objects inside out, fix the glass partitions, vegetable holder, freezing chamber drawers, etc., with tape and tighten the leveling feet; close the doors and fix them with tape. During moving, the appliance should not be laid upside down or horizontally or be vibrated; the inclination during movement should be no more than 45°. Do not hold the door and hinge when moving this unit.
  • The appliance should run continuously once it is started. Generally, the operation of the appliance should not be interrupted; otherwise, the service life may be impaired.

Energy-saving tips

  • The appliance should be in the coolest area of the room, away from heat-producing appliances or heating ducts and out of the direct sunlight.
  • Let hot foods cool to room temperature before placing in the appliance. Overloading the appliance forces the compressor to run longer. Foods that freeze too slowly may lose quality or spoil.
  • Be sure to wrap foods properly and wipe containers dry before placing them in the appliance. This cuts down on frost build-up inside the appliance.
  • The appliance storage bin should not be lined with aluminium foil, wax paper or paper toweling. Liners interfere with cold air circulation, making the appliance less efficient.
  • Organised and label food to reduce door openings and extended searches. Remove as many items as needed at one time and close the door as soon as possible.

Troubleshooting

Failed Operation|

  • Check whether the appliance is connected to power or whether the plug is securely connected.
  • Check whether the voltage is too low.
  • Check whether there is a power failure or partial circuits have tripped.

---|---
Odour|

  • Odorous foods should be tightly wrapped.
  • Check whether there is any rotten food.
  • Clean the inside of the refrigerator.

Extended compressor operation|

  • Long operation of the refrigerator is normal in summer when the ambient temperature is high.
  • Avoid overloading the appliance,
  • Food should be cool before being put into the appliance.
  • The doors are being opened too frequently.

Light fails to  illuminate|

  • Check whether the refrigerator is connected to the power supply and whether the illuminating light is damaged.
  • Contact Kogan.com to have the light replaced.

  • Check whether accessories are placed at the proper locations.

Door seals are loose|

  • Remove foreign matter from the door seal.
  • Heat the door seal and then cool it for restoration, using an electrical drier or a hot towel for heating.

Water pan overflows|

  • There is too much food in the chamber, or the food stored contains too much water, resulting in heavy defrosting.
  • The doors are not closed properly, resulting in frosting due to the entry of air and increased water.

Hot housing|

  • Heat dissipation of the built-in condenser is occurring via the housing, which is normal.
  • When housing becomes hot due to high ambient temperature, storage of too much food or shutdown of the compressor, provide adequate ventilation to facilitate heat dissipation.

Surface condensation|

  • Condensation on the exterior surface and door seals of the refrigerator is normal when the ambient humidity is too high. Simply wipe the condensation with a clean towel.

Abnormal noise|

  • Buzzing: The compressor may produce buzzes during operation and this sound is loud particularly upon start or stop. This is normal.
  • Creaking: Refrigerant flowing inside of the appliance may produce creaking sounds, which is normal.
