ELECTRICAL SAFETY
New installations and extensions to existing installations should always be carried out by an authorised electrician. If you have the necessary experience and knowledge (otherwise contact electrician), you may replace switches and power points, fit plugs, extension cords and light sockets. Incorrect installation can result in fatal injury and the risk of fire.

TECHNICAL DATA

  • Rated voltage 230 V ~ 50 Hz
  • Max load 1300 W/230 V
  • Protection rating IP44
  • Safety class II
  • Timer function 7-8h
  • Operating temperature -10- +50° (
  • Dimensions 108 x 69 x 42 mm

INSTALLATION

Positioning

  • Fit the unit with the arrow on the casing pointing upwards.
  • The unit works best if it is placed on a wall facing the north-east.
  • Check that the lamp controlled by the unit does not shine on the unit’s photocell.

NOTE : Position the unit so that it is not affected by artificial lighting that can cause the lamp to switch on and off unintentionally.

Assembly

  • Unscrew the front of the twilight relay from the bracket.
  • Mount the bracket on the wall with the screws and connect the wires. The wires can either be run through the rubber grommets on the back of the bracket, or the bottom.

USE

  • When the power supply is connected the controlled lamp flashes three times and then goes off.
  • The status light flashes in the following patterns to indicate the timer setting:
  1. Up to 1 hour flashes 1 time
  2. 1 to 2 hours: flashes 2 times
  3. 2 to 3 hours: flashes 3 times
  4. 3 to 4 hours: flashes 4 times
  5. 4 to 5 hours: flashes 5 times
  6. 5 to 6 hours: flashes 6 times
  7. 6 to 7 hours: flashes 7 times
  8.  7 to 8 hours: flashes 8 times
  9.  More than 8 hours: flashes 9 times
  10.  DUSK TO DAWN (light control): flashes rapidly for about 3 seconds.
    • The required lighting-up time can be set with TIMER knob. NOTE: When the TIMER is in light control mode (DUSK TO DAWN) the unit is only controlled by the ambient luminance.
    • Set the ambient luminance that you want the lamp to light up at. Turn the LUX knob anticlockwise for less luminance and then turn the knob slowly clockwise until the status light goes on.
NOTE : The lamp goes on about 60 seconds after the status light goes on.

IMPORTANT:

  1. If the lamp is lit and some other light source shines on the unit so that the luminance for switching off is reached, the lamp will go off after about 60 seconds and the timer stops counting down. When the light source is eliminated the lamp switches on again and the timer continues to count down until the set time runs out.
  2. If the ambient luminance during the countdown exceeds the reset value for the luminance for less than 10 minutes then the timer will not reset and will continue to count down.
  3. The timer resets in the following situations:
    • If the ambient luminance during the countdown exceeds the reset value for the luminance for more than 10 minutes then the timer will reset and restart the countdown.
    • Power failure for more than 2 seconds.
    • If the set countdown is longer than 24 hours (including interruption).
