CS-IP100H License Free IP Radio for WLAN
Instruction Manual

The CS-IP100H is a software application to set up the IP100H from your PC.
To use the software, a computer system and some items described in “System requirements” are required.
The instructions are based on using Microsoft Windows 10.

System requirements

  • Operating System (OS)
    Microsoft Windows 10 (32/64bit)
    Microsoft Windows 8.1 (32/64bit)*

  • Except for Microsoft Windows RT.

  • USB port
    A USB 1.1 or 2.0 port
    Icom is not responsible for problems using a PC with an above OS installed.

  • Cables
    OPC-478UC programming cable or
    OPC-478UC-1 programming cable
    OPC-2144 plug adapter cable

NOTE: Confirm your OPC-478UC has the letter “B” on its label. The cable with a label without “B” is not usable with Windows 8.1 and 10.

  • The contents of this sheet, the software associated with the CS-IP100H, and the appearance of the CS-IP100H are all subject to change without notice.
  • The displays, indications, or operations may differ slightly, depending on your system settings, type of OS, and its service pack level.

Procedure outline

To setup up, a PC, follow the steps described below first.

Step 1 Preparations
Confirm the system requirements in these instructions.

Step 2 CS-IP100H installation
Install the CS-IP100H following these instructions.

Step 3 USB driver installation
Install the USB driver following the optional programming cable’s installation guide.

Step 4 Connection
Connect the transceiver and a PC following these instructions, and then turn ON the transceiver.

Installing the cloning software

  1. Log in as the administrator.
    BE SURE no other applications are running.

  2. Download and unzip the file.
    If “Security Warning” is displayed, click to continue.

  3. Double-click “CSIP100H_Setup.exe” contained in the unzipped folder.
    If “User Account Control” is displayed, click to continue.

  4. “Welcome to the InstallShield Wizard for Icom CS-IP100H #11” is displayed, and then click >.
    If your PC already has the software installed, the uninstallation or update screen is displayed.

  5. Click >.

  6. “Ready to Install the Program” is displayed, and then click .

  7. After the installation is completed, “InstallShield Wizard Completed” is displayed, and then click .

Uninstalling the software

Before uninstalling the software, confirm the CS-IP100H is closed.

  1. Log in as the administrator.

  2. Click the button, then click the “Settings” icon, and then click “Apps.”
    • Microsoft Windows 8.1:
    Place the mouse pointer in the bottom right corner of the screen.
    Click the “Settings” charm, then click “Control Panel,” and then click “Uninstall a program.”

  3. Click “Icom CS-IP100H #11,” and then click “Uninstall.”
    If “User Account Control” is displayed, click to continue.

  4. Follow the instructions on the screen to uninstall.

Reinstalling the software
Once the uninstalling is complete, you can reinstall the CS-IP100H by following the steps in “Installing the cloning software.”

Before connecting the cable to your PC

Before you use the optional programming cable, you must install its USB driver. The latest USB driver and installation guide can be downloaded from the  “Options” section towards the bottom of the firmware page on the Icom website.

Connection

NOTE: Before connecting or disconnecting the cables, turn OFF the transceiver.

Connect the optional programming cable and OPC-2144 plug adapter cable between the transceiver and the PC, as shown below. After connecting, turn ON the transceiver.

Starting the CS-IP100H

  1. Click “Icom” in the Start menu, and then click “CS-IP100H #11” to start the software.
    • Microsoft Windows 8.1:

    ➔ ➔ CS-IP100H #11 You can also start the software by simply double-clicking the CS-IP100H #11 shortcut on the desktop.
  2. Edit the wireless Access Point settings in the “Wireless LAN Settings” sheet and the controller settings in the “Provisioning Server Settings” sheet.

Starting

TIP: See the Help file of the software for assistance with the functions or settings.
To open the Help file, click “Help” in the menu of the software.
As of October 2021, IP1000C, IP1500C, and VE-PG4 can be used as the controller of the IP100H. In this manual, and the Help file, the IP1000C, IP1500C, and VE-PG4 are written as “controller.”

NOTE:

  • To prevent data loss, you should first read all the transceiver’s setting data into the cloning software. Before editing or entering, make a backup file onto your PC. A backup file enables easy restoring even if the setting data in the transceiver is accidentally deleted. After that, enter or edit parameters using the cloning software. If you write the setting data into your transceiver before reading, the settings are overwritten.
    See page 5 to read the data from the transceiver settings and to save the settings file.

  • DO NOT turn OFF the transceiver or the PC, and  DO NOT disconnect the cable while reading or writing setting data. Otherwise, the data could be lost or deleted.

For your reference

◊ COM Port Searching

NOTE: Before searching for the COM port, confirm the transceiver is turned ON and the transceiver and the PC are correctly connected together.

Select “Search” in the menu to automatically set the COM port number that the cable is connected to.

You can also confirm the COM port number in the Device Manager screen.

To Confirm the COM port number

  1. Click the folder icon on the taskbar.

  2. Right-click “This PC,” and then click “Properties.”

  3. Click [Device Manager].
    • The “Device Manager” screen is displayed.

  4. Double-click “Ports (COM & LPT).”

About basic operation

To read the data from the transceiver
Click , or select “Read ← TR” in the menu.

To save the settings file to a folder on your PC
Click or select “Save” or “Save As…” in the menu.

To write the setting data into the transceiver
Click , or select “Write → TR” in the menu.

◊ Firmware updating

Basically, the IP100H firmware is automatically updated through the controller.
However, you can also manually update the firmware through the CS-IP100H.

  1. Click “Update…” in the menu.
  2. Select a downloaded firmware file in the displayed dialog.
  3. When “Starts the transceiver’s firmware update.” is displayed, click to start the update.

NOTE: While updating, NEVER turn OFF the transceiver or the PC, and NEVER disconnect the cables. Otherwise, the transceiver firmware will be corrupted.
