The megastar kit is supplied in a red weatherproof bag, which easily fits in the boot of a car, with shoulder straps and carry handles for easy transportation, the kit includes 1 x bag, 1 x Lithium battery pack 18Ah, 1 x Light head, 1 x Air-cushioned tripod, 1 x Mains charger 2A, 1 x Shoulder strap.
Product set up
- Insert lamp head into tripod and secure. Raise lamp and tripod by extending top part of tripod first and secure. Continue with the 2nd and 3rd part of the tripod and secure.
- When extending or retracting the tripod sections the user should always grasp the sliding element firmly before either tightening or loosening its securing thumb screw in order to avoid the possibility of sliding.
- When the lamp head is at the required height and the unit is stable, tighten the lower collars.
- The power pack is designed to hook on to the tripod leg adjuster see fig 1.
- Connect cable lead to power-pack and switch on.
- Always spread the tripod feet to their maximum extent. The excess cable should be neatly coiled within the tripod footprint.
- The canvas power pack is hung by the strap onto the 3.5M tripod hand wheel when the tripod is set to the desired height and position. Avoid leaving the power pack on the ground.
- Stability pegs (soft ground) and Hi-Vis Sandbags (hard surfaces) can be purchased for added stability.
Please note when collapsing the MegaStar for storage:
The MegaStar has been designed with safety in mind, the tripod sections are
air-cushioned to prevent no sudden drops.
Operation: using either the switch located on the battery pack or at the back
of the MegaStar head
- Press once to turn on the MegaStar head on the first setting 4000 lumens
- Press again for the second light setting at 10,000 lumens
- Press a third time for the full power mode at 20,000 lumens
- Press another time to turn off the light.
- When OFF, press, and hold for 3 secs then release the switch to activate the ECO mode (2,000 lumens). Press again while in ECO mode to activate the flashing light setting. Press a second time to turn off the light.
- NOTE: A battery status indicator is shown on the battery pack while the unit is in operation.
Battery charging:
- Plug the charger into the mains supply and switch it on at the socket. The LED on the charger will glow green to indicate the main voltage present.
- Plug the charger into the charging socket of the power pack the LED will turn RED to indicate the battery is charging.
- The LED will turn green when charging is complete.
- Do not use any chargers other than those provided. Failure to do so could damage the product, cause fire or personal injury.
- Charge before use until the charger shows a constant green LED.
- NOTE: Your battery pack will not reach optimum performance until 4/5 charging cycles.
General Warning:
- Do not expose the battery to excessive heat, to do so may cause an explosion.
- Do not use metal objects to short circuit the positive and negative ends of the battery.
- Do not dispose of the battery in the domestic waste, please use the correct method of disposal.
- Do not solder directly onto the battery, or let it become wet or be immersed in water.
- Keep the battery away from children.
- The operating temperature range of the light’s battery: Charging: 0°C to 45°C /Discharging: -20°C to 60°C
- Do not shine the light directly into people’s eyes, as it may damage their eyesight.
- Do not try to repair the unit. In case of any problems or questions please contact NightSearcher Limited or an authorized distributor.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION:

Never submerge in water.

If you suspect the MegaStar has water inside, do not use or attempt to recharge.

Dropping the MegaStar may damage the battery or circuit components inside.

IF THE MegaStar HAS BEEN SUBMERGED IN WATER OR SUSTAINED DAMAGE IT COULD BE A FIRE HAZARD. DO NOT USE THE PRODUCT.
Place outdoors in a non-combustible container well away from flammable materials.
DO NOT RECHARGE THE BATTERY AND CONTACT NIGHTSEARCHER. -
Never use the charger if the leads, contacts, or casings are damaged. Do not use any chargers other than those provided.

Always recharge the battery on a hard, flat, heat-resistant surface.

Avoid charging the battery in temperatures below 0°C or exposing the battery to temperatures below -20C or above 60°C.

Never expose the charger to rain, moisture, or dampness. If you suspect any of these have occurred then do not use the charger.

Always check with your airline before attempting to transport by air.
Warranty:
All NightSearcher products have a 3-year standard warranty on all
manufacturing defects and a 1-year warranty on all rechargeable batteries from
the date of purchase.
Extended Warranty:
All customers have the option to extend the warranty of the product to 5 years
for manufacturing defects. The battery warranty can not be extended.
Registration of the product must be made within one month of purchase by
sending us an email
sales@nightsearcher.co.uk. In the message
please state in your own words that you would like to register your
NightSearcher product for the extended warranty.

Safe disposal of waste electrical products batteries
If at any time, you need to dispose of this product or parts of this product:
Please note that waste electrical products, bulbs, and batteries should not be
disposed of with ordinary household waste.
Recycle where facilities exist. Check with your local authority for recycling
advice.
Alternatively, NightSearcher is happy to take receipt of this product at the
end of its life and will recycle it on your behalf.
