Important Safety Information
- Keep your work area clean and well-lit. Cluttered benches and dark areas invite accidents.
- Do not operate Boat in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust. Radio Control electronics may create sparks that may ignite dust or fumes.
- Keep bystanders and visitors away while operating. Distractions can cause you to lose control. Protect others in the area from rapidly spinning propellers. Provide barriers or shields as needed.
- Stay alert. Watch what you are doing, and use common sense when operating this Boat. Do not use while tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication. A moment of inattention while operating may result in serious personal injury.
- Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Contain long hair. Keep your hair, clothing, and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewelry, or long hair can be caught in propellers.
- Avoid accidental starting. Be sure the Power Switch is off before plugging in. Carrying this Boat with your finger on the Power Switch invites accidents.
- Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. Proper footing and balance enable better control.
- Use safety equipment. Always wear eye protection. Always wear ANSI-approved safety goggles and work gloves when using or performing maintenance on this product.
- Do not use the Boat if the Power Switch does not turn it on or off. Any tool that cannot be controlled with the Power Switch is dangerous and must be replaced.
- Disconnect the charging cable from the power source before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing the Boat. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting accidentally.
- Store out of reach of children and other untrained persons. Never allow children to come in contact with this product.
- Maintain with care and keep clean. Properly maintained, this product is easier to control. Do not use if damaged in any way. Tag and “Do not use” until repaired.
- Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts, and any other condition that may affect the Boat’s operation. If damaged, have it serviced before using. Many accidents are caused by poor maintenance.
- Use only accessories that are recommended by the manufacturer for your model. Accessories that may be suitable for one product may become hazardous when used on another.
- Contains a Li-Ion battery. The battery must be recycled or disposed of properly. Do not open, crush, heat above 140° F or incinerate.
- Product service must be performed only by qualified repair personnel. Service or maintenance performed by unqualified personnel could result in a risk of injury.
- When servicing this product, use only identical replacement parts. Follow instructions in the “Inspection, Maintenance, And Cleaning” section of this manual. Use of unauthorized parts or failure to follow maintenance instructions may create a risk of electric shock or injury.
Specific Safety Rules
-
Maintain labels and nameplates on the product. These carry important information. If unreadable or missing, contact Harbor Freight Tools for a replacement.
-
Maintain a safe working environment. Make sure there is an adequate surrounding workspace.
-
Always keep all electrical cords away from the propellers on this Boat.
-
If two Boats with the same radio frequency are used (both with the same numbers on the Transmitter and/or Receiver), they must be at least 1640’ away from one another in order to maintain adequate transmission control.
-
Before using in the water perform a distance check to be certain that you can maintain radio control at least 25’ from Transmitter to Boat.
-
NEVER run Boat in swimming pools or bodies of water where people are swimming or playing.
-
NEVER run Boat in flowing water, such as a river or stream. Run Boat in a lake. Be mindful of wildlife or nearby fishermen.
-
NEVER recharge non-rechargeable batteries.
-
Do not install old and new batteries together. Do not install alkaline, carbon-zinc or rechargeable batteries together. Position batteries in proper polarity. Do not use swollen or leaking batteries.
-
Remove batteries from both the Boat and the Transmitter if they will not be used for a long period.
-
People with pacemakers should consult their physician before using this product. Electromagnetic fields in close proximity to a heart pacemaker could cause interference to or failure of
the pacemaker. In addition, people with pacemakers should adhere to the following:
• Avoid operating this Boat alone.
• Don’t use this product with the power switch locked on.
• If powered via a power cord be certain that the tool is properly grounded. A ground fault interrupt (GFCI) system is also a good precaution. This inexpensive device is a good safety measure because it prevents a sustained electrical shock.
• Properly maintain and inspect all tools before use to avoid electrical shock. -
Never pick up, or lay down the Boat until its Propellers come to a complete stop. Moving parts can grab the surface and pull the Boat out of your control and there is the possibility of damage, or personal injury. When handling this Boat, be sure to keep hands clear of propellers at all times.
-
This product is for supervised use by ages 8 and up. Children must be properly trained in safety issues and operating procedures before being allowed to use this product and must always be supervised by a responsible adult.
-
WARNING: Always remove the Battery from the Battery Compartment when it is being charged.

Always wear work gloves if removing the Propellers. The blades can be very sharp. If the Boat has been recently used, let the Motors as well as both Drive Shafts cool at least 15 minutes before touching.
-
Do not recharge the battery if it is hot.
