Important Safety Information
- Assemble and use only according to these instructions. Improper assembly and usage can create hazards.
- Wear ANSI-approved safety goggles and heavy-duty work gloves during assembly and use.
- Do not use while engine is running. Remove ignition keys from vehicle and set parking brake.
- Do not strike with hardened tool.
- Keep area clean and well lit.
- Use only according to vehicle service instructions.
- Inspect before every use; do not use if parts are loose or damaged.
- Keep children and other bystanders out of the area.
- Do not use when tired or when under the influence of drugs or medication.
- Use as intended only.
- Maintain product labels and nameplates. These carry important safety information. If unreadable or missing, contact Harbor Freight Tools for a replacement.
Operation Instructions
** Read the ENTIRE IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION section at the beginning of
this document including all text under subheadings therein before set up or
use of this product.
WARNING
Risk of serious personal injury. Turn the vehicle off before use.**

Shift transmission into park (for automatic transmissions) or reverse (for manual).
-
Turn off the ignition.
-
Engage parking brake.
-
Remove ignition keys from vehicle.
-
Place wheel chocks on both sides of at least two wheels.
-
Make sure the engine and engine compartment are cool before use.
-
Access engine compartment.
-
Gain access to fan clutch.
-
Refer to Air Hammer (not included) Manual for proper use and Safety Precautions.

Insert Adapter Wrench Rod (8) into Air Hammer.
-
Connect Air Hose (not included) to Air Hammer.
Note: Adapter Wrench can be placed on either side of fan clutch nut, depending on which direction nut needs to turn for fan clutch removal.
Note: The Adapter Wrench Rod pushes downward onto the Adapter Wrench, with use of Air Hammer. -
Insert appropriate Adapter Wrench into Adapter Wrench Rod.

Rotate Adapter Wrench until it stops.

Determine which direction fan clutch nut needs to turn for removal.

Hold Adapter Wrench onto Adapter Wrench Rod.

Place Adapter Wrench onto fan clutch nut.
-
Press Air Hammer Trigger to loosen fan clutch nut.
-
Remove tool assembly from engine compartment.
-
Remove Air Hose from Air Hammer.
-
Remove Adapter Wrench from Adapter Wrench Rod.
-
Remove Adapter Wrench Rod from Air Hammer.
-
Remove fan clutch.
Maintenance
WARNING
TO PREVENT SERIOUS INJURY FROM TOOL FAILURE: Do not use damaged equipment. If
abnormal noise or vibration occurs, have the problem corrected before further
use.
Cleaning, Maintenance, and Lubrication

BEFORE EACH USE, inspect the general condition of the tool set. Check for:
• loose hardware
• misalignment or binding of moving parts
• cracked or broken parts
• any other condition that may affect its safe operation. -
AFTER USE, wipe the tools off with a clean cloth.

When storing, coat all parts with a light oil to prevent rust, then store them in the Carrying Case.
