Operating Instructions Heat Lamp 22318

Correct use
This heat lamp is intended exclusively for the purpose of chick rearing or for the delivery of heat to young animals. The use of this unit for any other purpose is expressly prohibited. Defects or damage caused by incorrect use or failure to observe the instructions for use shall not be covered by the warranty and the manufacturer shall accept no liability.

Safety instructions

  • Caution – risk of fire!

  • The prescribed minimum distance of unit components from easily flammable materials such as wood, straw, hay or similar and from animals
    must not be less than 0.6 m.

  • Partitions or ceilings made from flammable substances in sties, e.g. to create pens, must be secured so that it is not possible to accidentally
    move them towards the unit.

  • Do not cover the unit!

  • Keep the unit and infra-red lamp free of dust and dirt.

  • Do not use any infra-red lamps with a higher power and/or different voltages than those specified on the unit!

  • The use of long straw as litter is prohibited due to the risk of fire!

  • The unit’s mobile access line must be routed so that it is always positioned above the unit’s lower edge and cannot be reached or damaged by animals!

  • Do not hang the unit on the access line!

  • The unit must only be operated when the safety grille is engaged!

  • Faulty or damaged unit must be taken out of service straight away and be checked or repaired by a qualified electrician!

  • If the infra-red lamp is damaged, immediately disconnect the mains plug and then replace the infra-red lamp!

  • Disconnect the mains plug whenever carrying out any work on the unit.

  • Before starting any cleaning work involving water in the sty, allow the unit, including the infra-red lamp, to cool down to room temperature!

  • Check the connection cable at regular intervals for damage.

  • To ensure its splash resistance, the unit on the infra-red lamp must not be operated without a silicone gasket!

  • Any installation work must only be carried out by a qualified electrician.

Important instructions for commissioning!

  • The unit must only be fitted with infra-red lamps with an E27 base and a maximum input power of 175!

  • To ensure protection class IPX4, the silicone gasket included in the scope of delivery must be pushed onto the lamp base before the infra-red
    heat lamp is screwed into place. Only then screw the infra-red heat lamp into the lamp socket!

  • The unit must only be operated with the following infra-red lamps:

Assembling the heat ray unit

  • Screw the infra-red heat lamp into the heat lamp base.
  • Attach the hook of the safety grille into the hole on the aluminium safety shield and bend the hook with a suitable tool to permanently connect the safety grille to the aluminium safety shield.
  • Press the safety grille together and on the inside place it in the curved edge of the aluminium safety shield.
  • The worm hook should be screwed firmly into the ceiling. In the case of stone and concrete ceilings, a suitable and certified concrete anchor (dowel) must be used.
  • The worm hook must be able to withstand a minimum load capacity of 200 N or 20 kg when installed.
  • Hang the snap hook into the suspension eyelet on the heat lamp.
  • Hang the unit using the chain onto the worm hook at the right height, bearing in mind minimum distances and taking account of the animals’ growth and behaviour.

It is up to the operator to dispose of the device responsibly after its useful life in accordance with local regulations. Consult the relevant regulations for your country. The device must not be disposed of in household waste. Under the terms of the EU Directive on the disposal of old electrical and electronic equipment, the device can be taken to local authority-run refuse sites or recycling plants free of charge, or returned to dealers who offer a returns service.
