Introduction

Thank you for purchasing the NXT TechnologiesTM 65W Universal Laptop and UltrabookTM Charger. This charger plugs into any AC power outlet anywhere in the world, and provides a reliable power source to run your laptop and charge its internal battery. NXT Technologies chargers are made using the highest quality components and feature all of the necessary voltage and heat protection circuits to ensure maximum levels of safety and efficiency.

NOTE: A physical charger plug may be necessary to plug into some AC power outlets outside of the United States, but no voltage converter is needed anywhere in the world.
This charger comes with a variety of numbered tips which connect to the output cable of the charger. Please read the following instructions and refer to the Tip Configurator website at https://www.tipconfigurator.com/nxttechnologies to make sure you select the correct tip for your laptop. If you cannot find your specific laptop model please contact NXT Technologies product support at 1-800-270-9165.

CAUTION: This charger is not compatible with laptops that require Mace or USBCTM connectors or more than 65 watts of power. Before using this device, please read the important safety information section below.

Important Safety Information

  • The charging tips are uniquely designed. If a tip does not fit into the power socket of your laptop a mismatch may have occurred. Do not force the tip into the socket. Doing so may damage the charger and/or your laptop.

  • Do not expose the charger to rain, moisture, or excessive dust. It may cause shock hazards.

  • Do not operate the charger in direct sunlight.

  • Do not place a working charger in contact with your skin.

  • Operate the charger in a well ventilated area. Maximum ambient temperature around the power charger must not exceed 93.2° Fahrenheit (35° Celsius).

  • Do not open the charger under any circumstances. The charger is not intended to be repaired in case of failure or component defect. There are no internal serviceable parts.

  • Discontinue use and contact NXT Technologies product support at
    1400-270-9165 if any of the following should occur:
    The charger shuts down when it is plugged into the device.
    A cord is damaged or frayed.

  • Do not use with computers that require more than 65 watts of power.

  • Make sure to use the correct tip for your laptop listed in the Tip Compatibility Guide or online at https://www.tipconfigurator.com/nxttechnologies. Do not use a tip that is not listed for your laptop.

  • Keep away from children. When using this product, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of personal injury. Improper operation, maintenance or modification of this product could result in serious injury and property damage. We strongly recommend that this product NOT be modified and/or used for any application other than for which it was designed. Using the Universal Laptop Charger

  1. Select your laptop manufacturer and model from the Tip Configurator website at https://www.tipconfigurator.com/nxttechnologies. This will help you determine the correct tip for your laptop. CAUTION: The use of an incorrect tip may damage your laptop. Do not use this product if you cannot locate your laptop model on the Tip Configurator Website. Please contact product support at 1-800-270-9165 for more information. This charger is not compatible with Mace or USB-CT” Laptops. NOTE: If the compatible tip for your device is not included in the laptop charger package, tips can be ordered by visiting https://www.tipconfigurator.com/nxttechnologies or contacting NXT Technologies product support at 1-800-270-9165.

  2. Locate the specified tip from the tip bundle provided. Each tip is clearly numbered.

  3. Connect the selected tip to the end of the output cable, making sure that the pins on the tip are aligned with the holes in the cable. The ridge on the inside of the tip should align with the groove in the output cable connector. Also make sure that the tip is pushed all the way into the output cable’s connector.

  4. Plug the AC cord into an AC wall socket or power strip. The LED on the charger turns on, indication that the charger is powered and ready.

  5. Plug the tip connected to the output cable into matching DC input jack on the side or back of your laptop. The charger powers the laptop and charges its battery.

  1. How can I find out which tip fits my laptop?
    You can determine the correct tip for your laptop by referencing the Tip Configurator website at https://www.tipconfigurator.com/nxttechnologies. If you cannot find your specific laptop model please contact NXT Technologies product support at 1-800-270-9165.

  2. My tip is not included. How can I get the correct one for my laptop?
    First review the Tip Compatibility Guide or visit the Tip Configurator website at https://www.tipconfigurator.com/nxttechnologies to locate the correct tip for your specific laptop model. If the compatible tip is not included in the package, or you lose yours, one free tip can be ordered through the Tip Configuator website. If you are unable to locate your laptop model please contact NXT Technologies product support at 1-800-270-9165.

  3. How do I connect the tip to the output cable?
    Once you have selected the correct tip for your laptop, connect the tip to the output cable, making sure that the ridge on the side of the tip aligns properly with the groove in the output cable connector. Additionally, the pins on the inside of the tip should be in line with the holes in the output cable. The tip should be pushed firmly onto the cable until the tip and cable meet and there is no gap.

  4. What other computers can I use with this charger?
    The Universal Laptop Charger is compatible with thousands of laptop makes and models. A complete list of compatible laptops can be viewed in the Tip Configurator website at https://www.tipconfigurator.com/nxttechnologies.

  5. Why can’t I fit the tip into my laptop?
    The tip should fit snugly inside the DC input jack on the side or back of your laptop. If the tip will not fit into the jack, you may have selected the incorrect tip. Please do not force the tip. Confirm that you have chosen the correct tip for your laptop by referencing the Tip Configurator website at https://www.tipconfigurator.com/nxttechnologies or call NXT Technologies product support at 1-800-270-9165.

  6. Will using the wrong tip damage my laptop?
    The tips are engineered to work with specific laptop models, you should only use the tip that is designed specifically for your laptop. If you’re not sure which tip is correct, a detailed listing can be found in the Tip Configurator website at https://www.tipconfigurator.com/nxttechnologies to find additional model listings. Using an incorrect tip may cause performance issues, such as inability to charge the internal battery or power the laptop, or an error message appearing on the laptop screen. It is also possible that the use of an incompatible tip could damage your laptop. Therefore, it is vital to use the tip created especially for your device.

  7. My laptop is less than 65 watts (e.g. 45 watts). Will this charger damage my laptop?
    No, using this charger will not damage your laptop. This charger only supplies as much power as required by the laptop, up to a maximum of 65 watts.

  8. My laptop is more than 65 watts (e.g. 90 watts). Will this charger damage my laptop?
    This is a 65-watt charger and it should NOT be used with computers that require more than 65 watts of power.

  9. The charger often feels warm when I’m using it with my laptop. Is this dangerous?
    During standard operation the charger body may feel warm, and this is normal. The charger should always be placed in a ventilated area to avoid overheating. Do not place a working charger in contact with your skin.

  10. Does it waste energy to keep the charger plugged in when I’m not using it?
    This charger meets Energy Start and CEC energy standards, which means that it is an energy-efficient product designed to conserve power. When plugged in and not in use, the charger draws less than 0.5W of power.

Warranty Information

Three Year Limited Warranty Staples, Inc. (“Staples”) warrants to the original purchaser of this NXT Technologies charger against defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service for three years from the original date of purchase. Staples, at its option, shall repair or replace the defective unit covered by this warranty. Please retain the dated sales receipt as evidence of the date of purchase as it will be required for any warranty service. In order to keep the warranty in effect, the product must have been handled and used as described in the instructions accompanying this warranty. Limitation Of Liability
Except to the extent of repairing or replacing this product as expressly stated in the limited warranty described herein, Staples shall not be liable for any damages, whether direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or otherwise, including lost revenues, lost profits, loss of use of software, loss or recovery of data, rental of replacement equipment, downtime, damage to property, and third-party claims, arising out of any theory of recovery, including statutory, contract or tort.
