TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

Batteries required:

  • Movement: 1 x AA/LR6, 1.5V
  • Speaker: 2 x 1.5V AA/LR6, 4,5V
  • Pendulum: 1 x AA/ LR6, 1.5V

SETTING UP THE CLOCK

DO NOT MOVE/TOUCH THE CLOCK OR DO ANY SETTING DURING AUTOMATIC HOUR ADJUSTMENT!

  1. Install one AA battery (not included) in the movement’s battery compartment (A4), by making sure to observe the polarities indicated inside.
  2. The second hand will start running and stop at 12:00 position. Then, the minute and hour hands will rotate and stop at 12:00 position.
  3. The clock will then enter signal receipt mode. The complete procedure lasts between 3 and 10 minutes. The time will be automatically updated if the signal reception is successful.

IN CASE OF POOR RECEPTION
If the clock fails to receive the signal in 10 minutes’ time because of a poor signal, it will quit the automatic reception. Then it will start running from 12 PM. At each full hour, it will enter forced signal receipt mode. If it still fails to receive the signal after 10 minutes, the clock hands will run from the 12’oclock position. However, it will not exit the forced receipt mode: it will continue to capture the signal 14 times at each full hour. When the signal is successfully received, the clock hands will rotate and start running from the correct time.
Please note that the clock automatically enters the forced signal receipt at 3 AM.

The signal may not be received for the following reasons:

  • near high buildings;
  • near a built-up area;
  • in an area outside the radio signal coverage area;
  • near electronic or electrical equipment such as TV, wireless radio, mobile phones, and computer which may cause undesirable signal interferences;
  • near sources of magnetism or electromagnetism;
  • near heat sources;
  • in conditions of bad weather.
  • near a metal structure

Automatic signal reception
During normal clock running, the signal receipt is automatically operated 9 times every day at
AM 1:00, 2:00, 3:00, 4:00, 7:00, 11:00; PM 3:00, 7:00, 11:00.
If there is an hour difference for the receiving times of AM 2:00; 3:00 and 4:00, all the hands will rotate to 12 positions and then the clock will enter forced signal receipt mode. If it fails to receive the signal during 6 times continually, it could stop receiving and enter forced signal receipt mode when the hands reach 3 AM.

MANUAL SETTING

  1. During normal clock running, press and hold the “MSET” button (A1) till the clock enters the manual setting: the second-hand stops.
  2. Press “MSET” once, the minute hand moves forward one minute.
  3. Press and hold “MSET”, the minute hand moves forward quickly. To stop its rotation, release the button. Continue to press until you have almost reached the desired time and then release the button. Press the “MSET” button one by one till the time has been set.

NOTES:

  • If you don’t press the button within 7 seconds, the clock will quit manual setting mode. The clock will run from the last setting operated.
  • After manual setting, the clock will reset when it shows 3 AM. Then it will enter forced signal receipt mode. If the signal is successfully received, the clock will adjust itself to the correct time and run normally. If it fails to receive it, the clock will continue running according to the memory time.

MANUAL FORCED RECEPTION

When the clock is running normally, press the REC button (A2) till the second- hand stops. The clock will then enter forced reception mode. If the signal is successfully received, the clock will adjust itself to the correct time and run normally
If it fails to receive the signal after 10 minutes, the clock will run according to the memory time.
Renew RESET operation or set the time manually.

RESET

The RESET hole (A3) contains two metallic elements with a space between them.

In case of the clock malfunctions:
Insert the flathead of a small screwdriver inside the hole. Position it in the space between the 2 metallic elements. Press it on them for 7 seconds.
The second hand will stop to 12 positions. The minute and second hands will rotate and position to 12:00 position. Then the clock enters automatic signal receipt mode and will set itself to the correct time 3-10 minutes later.
If it fails to receive the signal, it will start running from 12 PM. Renew the RESET operation.

SETTING THE CHIME

Insert 2 AA batteries in the speaker’s battery compartment (C6), making sure to observe the polarities indicated inside.
Refer to the table below for the different settings.
NB: If the volume is low, adjust the volume of the chime.

| Icon| Function| Description
---|---|---|---
C1| | Chime output| If the switch is set to this icon. the clock is set to chime from 6 AM to 9 PM. It will not chime from 10 AM to 5 AM.
| No function| All functions are disabled.
| Shut| Melody and strike are turned off.
C2| | Volume control switch| 3 volume levels: 1 = Low. 2 = Normal. 3 = Loud
C3| | Melody setting| Choose your melody among the four ones as below to sound at each full hour:
1. Notre dame + strike
2. Westminster chime + strike

For melody sounds 1 and 2, the number of strikes atter the end of melody corresponds to the time indicated on the clock.
3. Westminster chime (without strike after the melody)
4. Clank (The clock will, every full hour. strike the clank —resembling the sound of bells —The number of strikes corresponds to the time shown on the clock).
C4| SET| DO NOT TOUCH THESE 2 BUTTONS TO AVOID ANY DAMAGE OF THE CLOCK! THE PARAMETERS HAVE BEEN SET BY THE FACTORY AND SHOULD NOT BE CHANGED.
C5| RESET

SETTING UP OF THE PENDULUM

Hang the pendulum.
Then insert one AA battery in the battery compartment (B1), making sure to observe the polarities indicated inside.

RESOLVING FREQUENT PROBLEMS

Problems Solutions

– The hands of the clock still don’t move forward once the batteries are inserted.
– The clock doesn’t show the correct time because it didn’t receive a signal within 15 minutes of inserting the batteries.| Procedure: check that the batteries are correctly inserted. Place the clock in another room or several meters away from any computer, television, air conditioner or other device and preferably near a window. Hold down the “REC” button to restart reception.
– The clock doesn’t chime on the hour every hour.| Procedure: check whether the volume is set to OFF (Stop) and that the batteries are not the wrong way round. Where this is not the case, change the batteries.
– The clock has not received radio controlled signal and has not set itself to the correct time.| •Check the batteries are new and in good condition.
•Check that the batteries are inserted correctly.
•As the internal receiver that picks up the signal is most effective when it is facing directly towards the window or door, rotate the clock in this direction.
•Try moving your clock to a new location away from any electrical equipment, e.g. T.V. computers or radios.
– Your clock strikes incorrectly. – Your clock does not chime.| Insert new batteries and refer to section: « Setting the chime for setting.
– The time is not correct.| Insert the new battery and refer to the procedure indicated in the section « Setting up the clock »
– Your clock pendulum does not swing or stop swinging.| Check that the clock is vertical and flat against the wall or insert a new battery.

WARNING

  1. Incorrect or improper installation may damage the clock and/or cause injury.
  2. Make sure that the clock is hand on a sturdy, flat surface. Recheck its stability within an hour and make sure it has not shifted.
  3. Don’t let children climb on the clock or pull the pendulum. They might damage the clock, cause it to fall over, and injure themselves.
  4. Do not place anything on top of the clock as it might destabilize it. This might affect the chiming and the clock could fall over.
  5. Keep it away from heat sources, direct sunlight, humidity, water or other liquids.
  6. Do not modify, disassemble or puncture your alarm clock.
  7. Do not drop, modify, disassemble or puncture it.
  8. Do not subject it to strong impacts and do not throw it.
  9. Do not try to repair the clock. All the repairs must be made by a qualified technician.
