General safety
WARNING! Failure to obey these !warnings could result in death or serious

Electrocution hazard
- If this griddle’s power cable is damaged, the power cable must be replaced by the manufacturer, a service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to prevent safety hazards.
- This griddle may only be repaired by qualified personnel. Improper repairs can lead to considerable hazards.
- Avoid the power cord, plug or other electrical parts to get in contact with water or any other liquid.
- Do not allow the cord to get in touch with any hot surface of the griddle.
Health hazard
- This device can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the device in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
- Children shall not play with the device.
- Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
- Close supervision is necessary when the device is used by or near children.

- Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter.
- Never turn the device on unless the device is fully and properly assembled.

- Accessible parts may be very hot. Keep young children away.

This manual provides information that is necessary for proper installation and/or operation of the product. Poor installation and/or improper operat-ing or maintenance will result in unsatisfactory performance and a possible failure. The manufacturer accepts no liability for any injury or damage to the product resulting from:

Technical description
The electric griddle is equipped with a drip outlet (Fryup) or a pull-out drip tray (FryUpXL). The temperature can be adjusted using the temperature control knob.

Using the electric griddle
Before each use
- Clean the griddle plate with a soft, damp cloth.
Switching on
WARNING! Fire hazard
- Do not leave the griddle unattended, especially when oil is to be heated.
- Keep the griddle away from any other sources of heat and flammable materials .
- Always turn the temperature control knob off and unplug the griddle from the socket when the griddle is not in use.
CAUTION! Burn hazard
- Do not touch the hot parts of the device during and after use. Leave the device to cool down properly.
- Place the griddle on a stable horizontal sur-face, for example on a table.
- Insert the plug into the socket.
Setting the temperature
- Turn the temperature control knob to the desired position (see fig. 2, page 4).
Cooking and frying food
NOTICE! Do not use any metal utensils as this could damage the non-stick coating of the griddle plate.
NOTE
- The griddle plate needs about 10 minutes for heating up.
- Cooking time depends on the nature and size of the food and your personal preference.
- To avoid the food drying out, turn the food only once.
Switching off
- Unplug the device from the socket.
- Ensure that the device is fully cooled down before leaving the device unattended.
After each use
- Clean the griddle plate (see chapter “Cleaning and maintenance” on page 7).
Cleaning and maintenance
WARNING!
Electrocution hazard
- Unplug the griddle from the socket before cleaning and maintenance.
Burn hazard
- Ensure that the device is fully cooled down before cleaning.
NOTICE!
- Never clean the griddle under running water or in dish water.
- Do not use sharp or hard objects, abra-sive cleaning agents or bleach during cleaning as these can damage the griddle.
Removing food residues
After each use, remove food residues with a paper towel or a damp cloth.
FryUp only:
- Place a receptacle suitable for collecting liquid next to the griddle.
- Pour excess liquid from the griddle plate into the receptacle (see fig. 3, page 4).
FryUp XL only:
- Pull out the drip tray (see fig. 4, page 4).
- Empty the drip tray.
- Clean the drip tray with a soft, damp cloth and a mild cleaning agent.

Storing the electric griddle
- Before storing, clean the griddle (see chapter “Cleaning and maintenance” on page 7).
- Allow the griddle to dry completely.
- Store the griddle in a dry place.
Warranty
The statutory warranty period applies. If the product is defective, please contact the manufacturer’s branch in your country (see kampaoutdoors.com /store-locator) or your retailer. For repair and warranty processing, please include the following documents when you send in the device:
- A copy of the receipt with purchase date
- A reason for the claim or description of the fault
Disposal
Place the packaging material in the appropriate recycling waste bins wherever possible.
- If you wish to finally dispose of the product, ask your local recycling centre or specialist dealer for details about how to do this in accordance with the applicable disposal regulations.
