  1. Read all instructions in this manual carefully before using your new induction Save these instructions.

  2. Always use this induction cooktop with a power outlet of the voltage (A.C. only) marked on the back of the appliance.

  17. CAUTION: Keep the induction cooktop out of reach of children less than 8 years old.

  18. This induction cooktop is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the induction cooktop in a safe way by the person responsible for their safety, and understand the hazards involved.

  19. Children should be supervised not allowed to play with the induction cooktop.

  20. Do not use the induction cooktop when children are in the vicinity.

  21. Always turn the power off at the power outlet before you insert or remove the power plug. Remove by grasping the plug – do not pull on the cord.

  22. This induction cooktop is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.

  23. Do not place your induction cooktop on or near a hot gas flame, electric element, heated oven or any hot surface.

  24. Do not place the induction cooktop on top of any other appliance.

  25. Do not permit the mains supply cord or plug to touch a hot frypan or other hot objects, or allow the power cord to lay across the induction cooktop.

  26. Do not allow the power cord of the induction cooktop to hang over the edge of a table or bench top.

  27. The induction cooktop must be used on a stable, heat-resistant surface. Avoid using the induction cooktop on metal surfaces, such as the kitchen sink or a hotplate.

  28. Never carry or hang the induction cooktop for storage by the power cord.

  29. Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaning agents or any sharp instruments for cleaning the unit. When the unit is cool to touch, the outside surface may be  wiped clean with a soft, damp cloth or sponge and then dried thoroughly. If necessary, a mild dishwashing detergent may be applied to the cloth or sponge but not directly applied to the induction cooktop.

  30. Immediately unplug the induction cooktop from mains power if malfunction occurs.

  31. After use, wait for the induction cooktop to cool down before moving or storing.

ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS

POWER SUPPLY CORD

  1. Do not attempt to modify the power cord or plug in any way.
  2. A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the risk of becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
  3. If the power supply cord is too short, do not use an extension cord. Have a qualified electrician or serviceman install an outlet near the appliance.

NOTE: Neither Westinghouse nor the retailer can accept any liability for damage to the product or personal injury resulting due to failure to observe the electrical connection procedures.

INSTALLATION GUIDE

  1. Carefully unpack your induction cooktop.
  2. Carefully remove packaging around the induction cooktop and power cord.
    Do not remove warning labels.

WARNING: After washing or cleaning the induction cooktop ensure that the unit is completely dry before use or storage.
WARNING: Do not place the induction cooktop on or near materials that could easily catch fire.

  1. Ceramic face plate.
  2. Effective induction perimeter ring.
  3. Timer button.
  4. Temperature button.
  5. Decrease button.
  6. LED display screen.
  7. Increase button.
  8. Power/Wattage button.
  9. On/Off button.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Plug in the AC cord. The buzzer will sound indicating the induction cooker is now in standby mode.

  2. Press/touch the “On/off”button to power up the induction cooktop. The letter -L-will be displayed on the LED screen.

  3. TEMP:
    The temperature level can be selected from 60 – 240 degrees celcius. Place your induction ready pot or pan onto the induction cooktop and center it over the Effective induction perimeter ring (2). Press the TEMP button (4) and the induction cooktop will begin to operate at the factory temperature preset. Use the “increase and decrease” buttons to select the desired temperature setting. The setting will be displayed on the LED screen.
    Note:  The temperature indicated on the LED screen is to be used as a guide only. Temperature fluctuations of 20-30 degrees celcius above or below the selected setting may be experienced depending on pot contents.

  4. POWER: (LEFT HOTPLATE 1400W MAX / RIGHT HOTPLATE 1000W MAX)
    The power level can be selected from 200 – 1400 watts. Place your induction ready pot or pan onto the induction cooktop and center it over the Effective induction perimeter ring (2). Press the POWER button (8) and the induction cooktop will begin to operate at the factory temperature preset. Use the increase (7) and decrease (5) buttons to select the desired power setting. The setting will be displayed on the LED screen.

  5. TIMER:
    The timer ranges from 1 minute to 180 minutes. To use the timer, select the desired power or temperature level using the TEMP (4) or Power (8) buttons. Once temperature or power setting has been selected, press the timer button (3). The LED screen will display the factory preset time of “0” minutes. Using the increase (7) and decrease (5) buttons, select the desired time required in minutes. The unit will automatically power off once the desired amount of time has been reached.

  6. CHILD LOCK:
    To engage the child lock, press the increase (7) and decrease (5) buttons simultaneously. The LED display will display the word “LOC” to indicate the unit is child locked. To disengage the child lock, hold the increase (7) and decrease (5) buttons simultaneously for 2 – 3 seconds. The Child lock will disengage.

  7. AUTO-OFF:
    When in TEMP or POWER mode, the unit will automatically shut itself off after a period of 2 hours.

Note:  The Induction Cooktop fan will continue to operate for a period of 2 minutes after the unit has been switched off to cool the internal components. It is important that the unit is left plugged in and allowed to complete the cooling cycle in order to ensure long life of the components.

CLEANING & CARE

  1. Allow the induction cooktop to cool thoroughly after using. Exposing to water whilst hot may cause shattering or damage to the ceramic plate.
  2. When cleaning, non-abrasive cloths may be used to remove stubborn food particles from your induction cooktop. Do not use abrasive cloths and cleaning materials as they may damage the induction cooktop cooking surface.
  3. Ensure induction cooktop is completely dry before storage and use.
  4. Store in a dry place away from steam and humidity where possible.

Note: The Induction Cooktop fan will continue to operate for a period of 2 minutes after the unit has been switched off to cool the internal components. It is important that the unit is left plugged in and allowed to complete the cooling cycle in order to ensure long life of the components

TROUBLESHOOTING

BEFORE CALLING FOR SERVICE

If the induction cooktop fails to operate:

  1. Make sure the unit is plugged in correctly and securely. If there is still no response, remove the plug from the outlet, wait 10 seconds and plug it back in securely.
  2. Check for a blown or tripped circuit breaker in your home. If these seem to be working correctly, test another appliance in the same outlet to ensure the outlet is working correctly.

IF NONE OF THE ABOVE SOLVES THE PROBLEM, DO NOT TRY TO ADJUST OR REPAIR THE FRYPAN YOURSELF.

LIMITED WARRANTY

  1. Nothing in this warranty affects the consumer’s rights under the Australian  Consumer Law. The benefits to the Consumer under this Warranty are in addition Nothing in this warranty affects the consumer’s rights under the Australian to the rights and remedies of the buyer under any Consumer Guarantees. The Australian Consumer Law requires that we confirm that: Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

  2. Subject to Clause 1, the Seller warrants that Westinghouse branded products will be free of manufacturing defects and will perform to the Seller’s specifications subject to the following clauses.

  3. The benefit of this Warranty extends only to the owner of the property in which the Products manufactured or supplied by the Seller are installed and used by the owner for the duration of the Warranty Period.

  4. The Warranty commences on the date of the purchase of the product and continues for the benefit of the Owner for the Warranty Period. If within the Warranty Period a manufacturing defect is discovered in the Product, or the Product fails to perform to the Seller’s specifications as a result of some defect in material or workmanship in the Product, then the Seller will at its own discretion:
    a.) Repair or replace the Product at the cost of the Seller, including but not limited to labour and travel costs. Goods repaired or replaced under this Warranty will be warranted for the remaining period of the Warranty.
    b.) Refund the purchase price paid by the consumer.

  5. The Warranty does not apply to Product that :
    a.) Has failed due to excessive wear and tear beyond what is considered to be reasonable.
    b.) Has been misused or neglected.
    c.) Has been damaged accidentally or by acts of God including fire and flooding.
    d.) Has been used or operated contrary to operating or maintenance instructions.
    e.) Has been damaged by the Consumer or a third party authorised to act for the consumer in transit from the Sellers store to the Consumer.

  6. In order to make a claim under the Warranty, the Owner must, where possible return the goods to the Seller’s store at the Owner’s cost. Proof of purchase must be supplied in all cases.

  7. The seller will examine any returned Products and if the Seller determines that there is an apparent defect through no fault of the Owner, the Seller will:
    a.) Make note of the Owner’s contact details including the Owner’s telephone number which the owner can be contacted during business hours, postal address and e-mail address.
    b.) Make note of the defects reported by the Owner.
    c.) Take back the defective goods from the owner and determine within a reasonable time through dialogue with the Seller whether the goods are defective.
    d.) Advise the owner within a reasonable time frame whether it accepts or rejects the Product claim.
    e.) If the Seller accepts the return of the Product, the Seller must arrange to have
    i) The Product repaired or,
    ii) Replace the damaged or faulty Product or,
    iii) Refund the purchase price

  8. . The Seller will not accept any returned Product which has not been returned strictly in accordance with this Warranty.

  9. For the purpose of this Warranty:
    a.) Australian Consumer Law means the law as set out in Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth).
    b.) Consumer means the Purchaser of goods from the seller.
    c.) Consumer means a Consumer as that term is set out in section 3 of the Australian Consumer Law.
    d.) Consumer Guarantees means the guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law.
    e.) Implied terms means any guarantees, conditions, warranties or other terms implied by any Australian Commonwealth, State or Territory laws, (excluding the Australian Consumer Law) or the law of any other jurisdiction.
    f.) Owner has the meaning set out in clause 3.
    g.) Warranty means this warranty.
    h.) Product means the Product/s bought by the Owner from the Seller that fall under this warranty.
    i.) Warranty Period means:
    i) In relation to Cast Iron Cookware: 3 Year Limited Warranty.
    ii) In relation to Non-Stick Cookware: 3 Year Limited Warranty
    iii) In relation to Cooking Utensils: 3 Year Limited Warranty
    iv) In relation to Knives/Knife Block Sets: 3 Year Limited Warranty
    v) In relation to Stainless Steel Cookware: 10 Year Limited Warranty
    vi) In relation to Chopping boards: 1 Year Limited Warranty
    vii) In relation to Small Appliances: 1 Year Limited Warranty
