Warning

  • Use a single outlet that matches the rated unit power. Unplug the power cord from the outlet when the unit is not being used.
The outlet may get hot and cause a fire if this unit and another appliance are plugged into an outlet at the same time.

  • Be sure that the unit plug is properly inserted into the outlet. Be very careful not to damage the power cord and plug.
If the plug is inserted improperly, and the power cord and/or plug are in use, you may receive an electric shock, it may cause a short circuit or a fire.

  • Never disassemble, repair, or modify the unit by yourself. It may cause a fire. The unit may operate abnormally and you may get injured. For repairs (other than replacing consumable parts), please contact Rosewill Tech Support.

  • Do not cover the steam vent with a cloth or other items. The unit may malfunction and hot water may splash out and cause burns or injury.

  • When pouring water into the unit, water level should not exceed the FULL pot mark. The hot water may splash out and cause burns or injury.

  • Add water into the inner pot when the water level is at or below the REFILL water level mark. This may result in an empty inner pot being heated. The color of the inner pot may become yellow. The main unit may become damaged by the prolonged empty heating, which may cause a fire.

First-Time
Use Remove all packaging, keep small children away from any materials, as they can be hazardous without proper supervision. Clean the thermal pot according to the Operation Instructions, fill it with water up to the FULL pot mark, boil then discard, and repeat twice.

  • Do not lift, tilt or shake the unit. Do not move the unit by the lid. Even when the dispensing button is locked, if the main unit is tilted, hot water may flow out from the dispensing spout or from the steam vent. You may get burned.

  • Do not force the lid to close. Hot water can spill, causing burns. Close the lid securely. If the unit tips over with the lid unsecured, hot water will gush out and you may be seriously burned.

  • Do not allow children to use the unit and do not leave the unit within the reach of infants. They may get burned, an electric shock or injured.

  • Do not tilt or knock over the main unit. Even when the dispensing button is locked, if the main unit is knocked over, hot water may flow from the dispensing spout or from the steam vent. You may get burned.

  • Do not touch the steam vent with your hands. You may be burned. Pay special attention to ensure children and infants cannot reach the steam vent.

  • Do not try to empty leftover hot water while the lid is attached.
If the lid comes off, hot water may splash and you may be seriously burned.

  • Do not boil anything other than water. Do not put ice into the inner pot and try to keep the water cool. If tea bags, tea leaves, milk or alcohol are put into the inner pot, hot liquid or steam may clog, burn, corrode or spout out, causing burns or injury.

  • Do not allow infants access to the unit plug. Prevent infants from putting the unit plug into their mouths. This may result in electric shock or injury.

  • Do not connect/disconnect the power plug or the unit plug with wet hands.
    This may cause electric shock.

  • Do not use the power-operated dispensing and touch dispensing while water is boiling. Hot water may splash and cause burns or injury. The unit may not dispense due to the racing electric pump caused by boiling bubbles.

  • Do not open the lid or dispense hot water while it is boiling. You may be burned by the splashing of hot water or steam.

  • Do not use the unit on an unstable surface or on a plush carpet. The unit may tip over and cause burns or injury.

  • Wait until the unit gets cool before performing any maintenance. When discarding hot water, be careful not to get burned.

  • Do not use the unit on an unstable surface or on a plush carpet. The unit may tip over and cause burns or injury.

  • When using in special regions (such as mountainous not guaranteed.

  • When used in special regions (such as mountainous or extremely cold terrain), the proper performance of the unit is not guaranteed.

How to prevent an empty inner pot from being heated (empty heating) If an empty inner pot is heated, the overheat safety function (which prevents an empty inner pot from being heated) will activate and the power will be automatically shut off to prevent the problems that can occur due to overheating. When the inner pot is heated with no water inside or with the water level below the REFILL line, an unpleasant odor may occur or the inner pot may become discolored. Please observe the following:

  • Do not connect the power without pouring water into the inner pot.
  • Do not boil water when the water level is below the REFILL line.
  • After the water is added, do not leave the lid open.

Please check the water level inside the inner pot often. Under normal conditions, if an inner pot is often heated with no water or for long periods of time, the inner pot will become discolored, an unpleasant odor may occur due to the rising temperature of the main unit, the temperature fuse may become broken or a fire may occur.

DAILY MAINTENANCE

Main unit and lid

Wipe any water off the main unit and the lid by using a dry dishcloth.

  • Do not wash the main unit and the lid with water. If water enters the main unit from the bottom, from the dispensing spout, or gets into the electrical components in the main unit, it may cause a malfunction.
  • Do not use detergents; they may leave an odor.
  • Do not use benzene or thinner to clean the pot; it may damage the surface.
How to clean the pot with citric acid
  1. Make sure that the filter is attached to the container.
  2. Put citric acid in the container. Use 20 grams for 1 liter of water at a time.
  3. Add water to the FULL pot mark and mix the citric acid and water thoroughly.
  4. Connect the plug immediately after stirring them up, heat the water to boiling, then switch to the auto Keep Warm mode. If the stain can not be removed completely, press the REBOIL button and repeat heating.
  5. Remove the power cord and the lid, then empty the hot water from the Drain Mark.
  6. Boil a fresh pot of water as usual to remove any residual smell of citric acid, then discard the water.
    • Follow the directions for cleaning printed on the citric acid container.
    • Since the citric acid used for cleaning is a food additive, it is harmless to humans.
Inner Pot

Wipe any water off the inside of the inner pot by using a damp sponge.

  • Do not use polishing powder, a scrub brush or a nylon brush to clean the inner pot. Filter Clean the filter by using a brush.
  • After washing the filter, be sure to reattach it to the inner pot.
When the inner pot shows signs of being covered with scale

While you are using this unit, minerals dissolved in the water (like calcium) can get stuck on the inner pot or on the filter. This is called scale, and it is not harmful:

  • Milky-white gritty surface
  • White or glittering floating material
  • Discoloration in the finish like dark brown, gray, or green areas.
These are not discoloration or corrosion of the inner pot Itself, nor are they flakes from the fluororesin coating. To maintain the pot’s performance, clean the inner pot once every two or three months with citric acid.
Helpful Tips
  • Do not wash in a dishwasher and never put it in a heated dish dryer; the unit may become deformed.
  • To store the unit, dry it thoroughly and put it into a plastic bag. Seal the bag to keep insects from getting in.
  • To remove any discoloration from the area above the FULL pot mark, rub the inside lightly with a wet sponge. If the discoloration can not be removed by rubbing, clean the pot several times with citric acid.
Rubber Seal

If the seal has lost its flexibility or if steam is leaking from a space between the lid and the pot due to cracks in the seal, replace it.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Symptom

White or glittering
material floating in the hot water.
Hot water smells bad.
Hot water does not flow out smoothly.
The water does not flow out.
Hot water flows out by itself.
Hot water is not boiled.
The outside of the main unit is hot.
Cause| Remedy
---|---
The material may be a scale that has peeled off.| Clean the inner pot with citric acid.
Water containing lots of minerals (natural mineral water or water treated to make it softer) may cause scale to build upon the inner pot, which can flake off later.| Clean the inner pot with citric acid.
Depending on the amount of chlorine in your tap water, the water may have an odor.| Press the chlorine-removing REBOIL button.
When you use the unit for the first time, you can smell the plastic material. However, after using the unit a few times, the smell will disappear. If the unit is used while sitting on a rug or on a linoleum floor, the hot water may pick up a smell from the floor materials.
Is the filter clogged with scale?| Wash the filter with a brush.
After boiling, bubbles may form temporarily and make it difficult to dispense hot water.| Open the lid. Then use the power-operated dispensing function to
dispense. Be careful of the steam when opening the lid.
Has the automatic lock been engaged?| Press the UNLOCK button.
Has water been added beyond the FULL pot mark?| Lower the water level.
Has the plug been is connected?| Connect the plug.
Since the unit keeps water warm at a high temperature, if the room temperature is very high, the outside of the main unit may reach about 149 °F. This is normal.

Overheat Protection
If the inner pot is out of the water, the overheat protection function will turn on and shut down the unit automatically within 1 minute. If the inner pot heats without water or the water level are too low for boiling, the inner pot may become damaged or result in a fire. Please always keep the water in the inner pot above the REFILL water level line to avoid accidents or injury.
