Safety Notes

• The product is intended for private, non-commercial use only.
• Use the product for its intended purpose only.
• Protect the product from dirt, moisture and overheating, and only use it in a dry environment.
• Do not use the product in the immediate vicinity of heaters or other heat sources or in direct sunlight.
• Keep this product, as all electrical products, out of the reach of children!
• Do not operate the product outside the power limits given in the specifications.
• Do not use the product in areas where the use of electronic devices is not permitted.
• Do not use the product in moist environments and avoid splashes.
• Do not place the product near interference fields, metal frames, computers, TVs, etc. Electronic devices and window frames can negatively affect the product’s functionality.

Risk of electric shock

• Do not open the device or continue to operate it if it becomes damaged.
• Do not use the product if the AC adapter, adapter cable or power cable is damaged.
• Do not attempt to service or repair the product yourself. Leave any and all service work to qualified experts.

Warning – Batteries

• When inserting batteries, note the correct polarity (+ and – markings) and insert the batteries accordingly. Failure to do so could result in the batteries leaking or exploding.
• Only use batteries (or rechargeable batteries) that match the specified type.
• Before you insert the batteries, clean the battery contacts and the polar contacts.
• Do not allow children to change batteries without supervision.
• Do not mix old and new batteries or batteries of a different type or make

Warning – Batteries

• Remove the batteries from products that are not being used for an extended period (unless these are being kept ready for an emergency).
• Do not short-circuit batteries.
• Do not charge batteries.
• Do not throw batteries in a fire.
• Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
• Never open, damage or swallow batteries or allow them to enter the environment. They can contain toxic, environmentally harmful heavy metals.
• Avoid storing, charging or using the device in extreme temperatures and extremely low atmospheric pressure (for example, at high altitudes).

Getting Started

Warning

• Connect the product only to a socket that has been approved for the device. The socket must be installed close to the product and must be easily accessible.
• Disconnect the product from the network using the power button – if this is not available, unplug the power cord from the socket.
• When using a multi-socket power strip, make sure that the sum power draw of all the connected devices does not exceed its maximum throughput rating.
• If you will not be using the product for a long period of time, disconnect it from mains power.

Inserting the batteries / connecting the power supply

• Connect the power supply unit to the power supply unit connection socket (20) on the back of the radio-controlled alarm clock.
• Connect the power cable of the radio-controlled alarm clock to a properly installed socket.
• The radio-controlled alarm clock switches on automatically.
• Alternatively, open the battery compartment (21), insert two AAA batteries with the correct polarity and close the battery compartment cover.

Note

• If the batteries are inserted correctly and you connect the power supply unit to the alarm clock, the radio-controlled alarm clock will automatically switch to the external power supply.
• Sustained projection is only possible on mains power

Replacing the batteries

• Open the battery compartment (21) on the back of the product.
• Remove and dispose of any used batteries. Insert two new batteries (AAA). Ensure that the polarity of the battery corresponds to the symbols in the battery compartment.
• Close the battery compartment (21).

Operation

Note
Hold down the UP button (14) or the DOWN button (15) to select values faster.

Setting date/time automatically using the DCF signal

• Once you have inserted the batteries or connected the power supply unit, the display is switched on, an acoustic signal sounds and the alarm clock automatically starts searching for a DCF radio signal. During the search, the radio symbol (3) flashes. This process can take around 7 minutes.
• When the radio signal is received, the date and time are automatically set.

If the station still does not receive a signal, press and hold the WAVE button (16) for approx. 3 seconds to start the manual search for the DCF signal. The radio icon (3) starts to flash.

Note – Time settings

• The search process takes around 7 minutes. If the search fails, it ends and is repeated at the next full hour. The radio icon (3) goes out.
• In the meantime, however, you can set the time and the date manually.
• The clock automatically continues to search for the DCF signal on a daily basis (between 1 am and 5 am) to correct any deviations. If the signal is received successfully, the manually set time and date are overwritten.
• Press the WAVE button (16) again to end the manual search for the DCF radio signal.

Manually setting the date/time (104952)

• Press and hold the TIME button (12) for approximately 3 seconds until the display begins to flash.
• Set the following information in the order listed:
  • Automatic DCF signal search (on/off)
  • 12/24-hour format
  • Time zone (-12 to +12)
  • Hour
  • Minute
  • Date
  • Year
  • Month
  • Day
  • Day of the week language
• To select individual values, press the UP button (14) or the DOWN button (15) and confirm each selection by pressing the TIME button (12).
• Press the TIME button (12) immediately to adopt the set value displayed and skip ahead.
• If you do not make an entry for 20 seconds, Settings mode is exited automatically.

Note – Time zone

• The DCF signal can be received over long distances, but always transmits the current Central European Time in Germany. Make sure you set the time difference in countries with another time zone.
• If you are in Moscow, for example, the time is 3 hours later than in Germany. This means that you should set +3 for the time zone. The clock then automatically sets the time to 3 hours ahead after receiving the DCF signal or according to the manually set time.

Note – Day of the week
You can choose from German (GE), French (FR), Spanish (SP), Italian (IT), Dutch (DU), Danish (DA) and English (EN) for the display of the day of the week.

Temperature display

• Press the DOWN button (15) to choose between °C and °F for the temperature display.

Alarm clock

Setting the alarm time

• Press and hold the ALARM button (13) for approx. 3 seconds to go to Alarm mode. The display begins to flash.
• Set the following information in the order listed:
  • Alarm 1 (4): hours; minutes
  • Alarm 2 (5): hours; minutes
• Press the UP button (14) or the DOWN button (15) to select the hour for the alarm time and confirm your selection by pressing the ALARM button (13). The minutes display begins to flash.
• Repeat the process to set the minutes for the alarm time.
• Press the ALARM button (13) immediately to adopt the set value displayed and skip ahead.
• If you do not make an entry for 20 seconds, Settings mode is exited automatically.

Activating/deactivating the alarm

• Set the ON/OFF switch for alarm 1 (17) or 2 (18) to “ON” to activate alarm 1 and/or alarm 2 or set to “OFF” to deactivate alarm 1 and/or alarm 2.
• If the alarm is activated, alarm 1 will be displayed instead of the date (6) or alarm 2 instead of the room temperature and humidity (8/9) together with the corresponding symbol 2 (4/5).

Stopping the alarm / snooze function

• When the alarm is triggered, the alarm symbol 1 (4) or 2 (5) begins to flash and an  alarm sounds.
• Press any button (except the SNOOZE/LIGHT button (11)) to stop the alarm. Otherwise, it will stop automatically after 2 minutes.

Note – Snooze function
While the alarm signal is sounding, press the LIGHT-SNOOZE button (1) to activate the snooze function. The alarm symbol (7) will begin to flash. The alarm signal will be stopped for 5 minutes, after which it will sound again.

Backlight

• Press the LIGHT/SNOOZE button (11) to light up the display.
• During battery operation, the display is illuminated for approximately 8 seconds.

Note – Permanent backlight mode
Permanent backlight mode is only possible when plugged into mains power.

Projection

Activating/deactivating
Power from batteries:

• Press the LIGHT-SNOOZE button (11) to project the display onto the wall or ceiling for 8 seconds.

Power from power supply unit:

• Press and hold the SNOOZE/LIGHT button (11) for approximately 3 seconds to activate sustained projection.
• Press and hold the SNOOZE/LIGHT button (11) for approximately 3 seconds to deactivate sustained projection.

Projection setting

• Turn the projection arm (10) forward/back to project the display onto the desired wall/ ceiling.
• Press the ROTATE button (19) again to rotate the projection by 0°, 90°, 180° or 360°.

Charging function

Warning – Connecting terminal devices

• Before connecting a terminal device, check whether the power output of the charger can supply sufficient power for the device.
• Ensure that the total power of all connected terminal devices does not exceed 10 W
• Please refer to the instructions in the operating manual of your terminal device.

Note
The charging function is only possible when plugged into mains power.

• Connect your terminal device to a USB charging socket (22) on
  the alarm clock using a suitable USB cable.

• The charging progress is displayed on your terminal device.

• Disconnect the terminal device from the USB charging socket
  if you want to interrupt charging or if the terminal device is fully charged.

Care and Maintenance

Only clean this product with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth and do not use aggressive cleaning agents. Make sure that water does not get into the product.

Note
Disconnect the device from the power supply before cleaning it or if it is not going to be used for a long period of time.
