  • For your protection and safety, carefully read and understand the information provided in this manual completely before attempting to assemble, install, or operate this product. Failure to do so could lead to electrical shock, fire, or other injuries that could be hazardous or even fatal.
  • Before touching any wire, use a voltage tester to make sure it is not live.
  • When replacing fuses, turn off the main power first. Make sure your hands and feet are dry, and place one hand behind your back to prevent electricity from making a complete circuit through your chest. Touch the plug fuse only by its insulated rim. Remove cartridge fuses with a fuse puller.
  • Use tools with insulated handles and ladders made of wood or fiberglass.
  • To protect children, place a safety cover over any unused outlets.

DANGER: Before starting installation of this fixture or removal of a previous fixture, disconnect the power by turning off the circuit breaker, removing the fuse at the fuse box, or tripping the breaker that controls that circuit. Tape a sign to the panel warning others to leave the circuit alone while you work.

Warranty

THREE (3) YEAR WARRANTY
WHAT IS COVERED
The manufacturer warrants this fixture to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of three (3) years from date of purchase. This warranty applies only to the original consumer purchaser and only to products used in normal use and service. If this product is found to be defective, the manufacturer’s only obligation and your exclusive remedy, is the repair or replacement of the product at the manufacturer’s discretion, provided that the product has not been damaged through misuse, abuse, accident, modifications, alteration, neglect, or mishandling. This warranty shall not apply to any product that is found to have been improperly installed, set-up, or used in any way not in accordance with the instructions supplied with the product. This warranty shall not apply to a failure of the product as a result of an accident, misuse, abuse, negligence, alteration, faulty installation, or any other failure not relating to faulty material or workmanship. This warranty shall not apply to the finish on any portion of the product, such as surface and/or weathering, as this is considered normal wear and tear.

The manufacturer does not warrant and specifically disclaims any warranty, whether expressed or implied, of fitness for a particular purpose, other than the warranty contained herein. The manufacturer specifically disclaims any liability and shall not be liable for any consequential or incidental loss or damage, including but not limited to any labor/expense costs involved in the replacement or repair of said product.

Pre-Installation

PLANNING INSTALLATION

  • Read all instructions before installing.
  • To avoid damaging this product, place it on a soft, non-abrasive surface, such as carpet or cardboard.

IMPORTANT: Inspect the wire insulation for any cuts, abrasions, or exposed copper that may have occurred during shipping. If there is a defect in the wire, do not attempt installation. NOTE: This product requires (3) 60W maximum medium base (E26) type “S” or 8W maximum medium base (E26) self-ballasted LED vintage Edison bulbs (sold separately).

Installation

  1. Assembling the fixture body
    Guide the fixture wire with bare copper ground wire through the fixture loop (A), and screw the fixture loop (A) onto the top of the fixture body (B) securely.

  2. Installing the crossbar assembly
    Secure the crossbar assembly (AA) to the outlet box (not included) with the outlet box screws (BB). Tighten until snug.
    NOTE: The preassembled mounting nipple on the crossbar should protrude outward.

  3. Test fitting ceiling canopy to crossbar assembly

    • Remove the pre-assembled canopy lock ring from the crossbar assembly (AA).
    • Temporarily attach the ceiling canopy (EE) to the pre-assembled nipple on the crossbar assembly (AA).
    • Secure with canopy lock ring.
      NOTE: If the ceiling canopy is not snug against the ceiling, remove it from the crossbar assembly and adjust the length of the pre-assembled nipple by unscrewing the pre-assembled hex nut.
      Screw the nipple in or out of the crossbar until the correct length is achieved. Then, re-attach the ceiling canopy.Installation

  4. Installing the fixture chain

    • Choose desired hanging length for the light fixture. Suggested mounting height over a table or island is 30 inches from the table/island top to the bottom of the fixture.
    • Adjust the fixture chain (FF) to the desired length, removing links if needed.
    • Connect one end of the fixture chain (FF) to the canopy chain loop preassembled to crossbar assembly (AA) with one quick link (DD) and close the quick link (DD).
    • Connect the other end of the fixture chain (FF) to the fixture loop (A) with the remaining quick link (DD) and close the quick link (DD).
      Suggested chain length to hang fixture 30 in. above table top:
      8-ft. ceiling: 12 in. of chain + 2 quick links
      9-ft. ceiling: 24 in. of chain + 2 quick links
      10-ft. ceiling: 36 in. of chain + 2 quick links
      11-ft. ceiling: 48 in. of chain + 2 quick links
      12-ft. ceiling: 60 in. of chain + 2 quick links
      NOTE: You may need to use pliers (not included) to open the links of fixture chain. If so, put a cloth over the fixture chain to protect the finish from the pliers.Installation 4
  5. Pulling the supply wires

    • Pull the supply wires and ground wire up through the fixture chain alternating links.
    • Push the ends of the supply wires and ground wire up through the canopy chain loop and into the outlet box. The remaining slack wire will be pushed into the outlet box in STEP 7.
      NOTE: To make the next step easier, cut the supply wire and ground wire 24 inches longer than the distance from the fixture loop to the ceiling. Important: Please pay attention to the polarity (wires labels L & N) when cutting wires. Wire identification will be needed in STEP 6.Installation

  6. Trimming excess fixture wire

    • Unthread the canopy lock ring.
    • Slide canopy lock ring and ceiling canopy (EE) down the quick link (DD).
    • Push all slack fixture wire through canopy chain loop and into the outlet box.
    • Trim excess fixture wire leaving a minimum of 6 inches hanging out of the outlet box.
    • Separate the smooth side and ribbed side of the supply wire to about 3 inches from the end.
    • Using wire strippers, strip each wire ½ inch from the end.Installation 6
  7. Making the electrical connections
    Use wire connectors (CC) to connect the wires.

    • Ground wire:
      1. Wrap supply ground wire around green ground screw on crossbar, no less than 2 in. from the end of the wire. Tighten ground screw.
      2. Connect fixture ground wire to supply ground wire with wire connector (CC).

    • Supply wire:
      1. Connect the house white wire to the fixture supply wire (ribbed sided) from fixture identified with the label “N”.
      2. Connect the house black (or red) wire to the fixture supply wire (smooth side) from fixture identified with the label “L”.
      3. Wrap each connection with approved electrical tape and carefully stuff all of the connected wires into the outlet box.Installation

  8. Installing the ceiling canopy

    • Attach the ceiling canopy (EE) back over the canopy chain loop.
    • Secure with canopy lock ring.
  9. Installing the shade
    Secure the shade (D) to the fixture body (B) with the mounting screw (C). Tighten until snug.
    NOTE: Two people are required for this step.

  10. Installing the light bulbs
    Install correct bulb referring to fixture markings and/or labels for maximum wattage.
    NOTE: Use (3) 60W maximum medium base (E26) type “S” or 8W maximum medium base (E26) self-ballasted LED vintage Edison bulbs (sold separately).

Care and Cleaning

  • Do not use any cleaners with chemicals, solvents, or harsh abrasives. Use only a dry, soft cloth to dust or wipe carefully.
  • To clean the fixture, disconnect power by turning off the circuit breaker or by removing the fuse at the fuse box, and use a dry or slightly dampened, clean cloth to wipe the exterior surface of the fixture.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
The lights will not turn on. The bulb is burned out. Replace the light bulb.
The power is off. Ensure the power supply is turned on.
There is a faulty switch. Test or replace the switch.
There is a faulty wire connection. Check the wiring.
The fuse blows, or the circuit breaker trips, when the light is turned on.
There are crossed wires, or the power wire is grounding out. Discontinue use
