CHARGING THE BATTERY
The battery is the most important part of the scooter. Electric scooters are equipped with lithium-ion cells. These batteries are able to provide better functionality and a longer lifespan than lead batteries. They are lightweight and powerful. However, these batteries do also have a life cycle. To maximize their lifespan, it is important to regularly take care of the batteries and charge the battery to 100% every few days or after each ride.
- To charge the battery, only use the original charger from the manufacturer that comes supplied with the scooter.
- If the battery indicator shows low battery, plug the scooter into the charger.
- Always make sure that the charging port is clean and dry before charging. If the scooter is not connected to the charger, the power input must always be covered with the rubber cap to prevent dust or other dirt from entering the inlet.
- Connect the power cord to the charger and then plug the charger into an electrical socket, making sure that the light on the charger is GREEN.
- Insert the end of the charger into the power input on the scooter. The charger light should turn RED when charging. When the light turns GREEN, the scooter is fully charged. It takes approximately 4–5 hours to fully charge.
- After charging the scooter, disconnect the charger from the power socket and the power cable from the scooter.
- Do not leave the scooter connected to the charger longer than necessary to fully charge. Never leave the scooter connected to the charger unattended.
BATTERY SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
-
Fully charge the battery before using it for the first time.
-
Charge regularly, after every ride.
-
Never let the battery drain completely!
-
Use standard charging cables, otherwise, the device may be damaged.
-
The operating temperature can affect the overall battery life.
-
Under no circumstances should you connect damaged or swollen batteries to the charger. Never use batteries in this condition, there is a risk of explosion.
-
Do not use a damaged power adapter or charger.
-
Charge at room temperature, never charge at below 0°C or above 40°C.
-
Be careful not to drop, puncture, or otherwise damage the battery. Never attempt to repair a damaged battery.
-
Do not expose the charger or battery to moisture, water, rain, snow or any kind of spray.
-
Do not leave the battery in a vehicle, do not expose to sunlight or place near heat sources.
Powerful light or high temperatures can damage the battery. -
Never leave the batteries unattended while charging. A short circuit or accidental overcharging can cause the aggressive chemicals to leak, explode or subsequent fire!
-
If the battery overheats while charging, unplug the battery immediately.
-
Do not place the charger or battery on or near flammable objects when charging. Keep away from curtains, carpets, tablecloths, etc.
-
Keep the battery out of reach of children and animals.
-
Never disassemble the charger or battery.
-
If the battery is integrated, never disassemble the device unless otherwise specified. Any such attempt is a risk and may result in damage to the product and subsequent loss of warranty.
-
Do not dispose of worn or damaged batteries in a waste bin, fire or heating system. Hand them in at hazardous waste collection plants.
-
If you do not comply with this policy, you assume full responsibility for any damages incurred.
SERVICING, MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE
The scooter needs regular inspection and maintenance just like a bicycle or motorcycle. Always make sure that the scooter is switched off and the power cord is disconnected before performing the following operations.
Scooter inspection and cleaning
Regularly check the frame and tyres for damage or excessive wear. If a tyre is
excessively worn, it should be changed. Do not use water or other liquids or
detergents for cleaning. Dampen a clean cloth with clean soapy water and apply
to the scooter frame, then rinse the cloth thoroughly and wipe the scooter
down. When cleaning, make sure water does not get into the battery cover,
power input, display, or tires.
Maintenance and servicing
- The scooter requires regular maintenance and services similar to a bicycle. We recommend performing a service inspection at least once a year.
Storing the scooter
- Fully charge the battery before storage. If you are storing the scooter for an extended period, charge the battery to half capacity every 30 days. Not doing so is likely to result in equipment failure which is not covered under warranty.
- If the storage temperature is less than 0°, do not charge the scooter immediately. Before charging, you must place the scooter in a warmer environment (5°C–40°C) for at least 2 hours. To prevent dust from entering the scooter, pack it in the original box and seal with tape. Store the scooter indoors, in a dry place and at the correct storage temperature.
