SAFETY SYMBOLS

Safety labels and stickers are an integral part of the product. Under no circumstances remove them and ensure they are kept visible and clean. Replace them with new ones if they are missing, damaged or no longer legible.

Always use protective equipment when riding a scooter: helmet, elbow and knee pads, and gloves. Always wear appropriate clothing, shoes and gloves.

Do not use this device in rain or water, or leave it outside when raining.

Do not stand!

Only use your scooter where it is allowed. Local laws may restrict both use and location.

The scooter is designed for slopes with a maximum gradient of 15%.

Don‘t carry other people. The scooter is designed for one.

Driving after consuming alcohol or under the influence of drugs or narcotics is strictly prohibited.

*The maximum range figure indicates the approximate range that can be achieved under absolutely ideal conditions (flat terrain, constant speed – no full power, no wind, correct tyre pressure, driver weight <70 kg, no payload, ambient temperature 20 °C). In practice, the range is largely influenced by the weight of the rider or other load, the height gradient to be overcome when riding, weather conditions, road conditions, driving style, frequency of starts (e.g. at junctions), tyre condition (especially inflation), battery wear and many other factors. In extreme conditions, the range can be reduced to less than 50% of the claimed value.

DISPLAY CONTROLS

Switching on/off

• Press and hold the POWER button for 3 seconds.

Speed mode

• Press the POWER button to switch between driving modes.

Turning lights on/off

• Press the POWER button twice to turn the lights on/off.

Speed (display shows the current speed of the scooter)
Cruise control (automatic maintenance of selected speed without the need to hold the throttle, which can be set in the smartphone app. Any acceleration or braking will immediately turn off this function and engage manual speed control)
Driving modes (the „E, D, S“ icons tell you which driving mode is currently active. If none of these three is lit, then you are in pedestrian mode and the display shows a walker icon)
Pedestrian mode (pedestrian riding mode, where the maximum speed of the scooter is 6 km/h, suitable for pushing up hills, etc.)
Headlight (icon on the display indicates the headlights are on)
High temperature (high-temperature warning – if you get this warning on the display, the scooter will automatically start to slow down for safety reasons. It is recommended to stop and wait for the temperature to return to normal or ride more slowly)
Bluetooth (an icon on the display indicates that you are connected to the scooter via the app)

ASSEMBLING AND FOLDING THE SCOOTER

Assembly

1. Carefully remove the scooter from the box, place it on the ground and fold out the kickstand. Adjust the handlebar post to the upright position.
2. Attach the handlebars by tilting the folding mechanism towards the handlebar post. Connect the cable from the handlebars and the cable in the handlebar post so that the arrows on the cables are facing each other and then slide the handlebars into the post. Secure both parts with the screws provided and the Allen wrench.
3. After assembling the scooter, test the functionality of the brakes and the strength of the joint at the handlebar post. Press the main power button and test that everything works properly.
4. Then switch off the scooter and fully charge it.
   

Folding the scooter

1. Lift the folding mechanism lock up and release it by pulling it away from the handlebar post.
2. Fold the handlebar post towards the rear fender.
3. Then tuck the hook on the handlebar into the lock on the rear fender.
   

CHARGING THE BATTERY

The battery is the most important part of the scooter. Electric scooters are equipped with lithium-ion cells. Unlike lead acid batteries, these batteries are able to provide better functionality and longer life. They are lightweight and have high performance. However, these batteries also have a life cycle. In order to maximise their lifespan, it is important to take care of the batteries regularly.

• Only use the original charger from the manufacturer supplied with the scooter to charge the battery.

• If the battery indicator shows a low battery, connect the scooter to the charger.

• Always make sure the charging port is clean and dry before charging. If the charger is not connected to the scooter, the power input must always be covered with the rubber cap to prevent dust or other debris from entering the input.

• Connect the power cord to the charger and then plug the charger into a wall outlet, making sure the light on the charger is GREEN.

• Insert the charger tip into the charging input on the scooter. The charger light should turn RED – charging.
  When the light turns GREEN, the scooter is fully charged. The time to full charge is approximately 6–8 hours.

• After charging the scooter, disconnect the charger from the power socket and the power cord from the scooter.

• Do not leave the scooter connected to the charger longer than necessary to fully charge.

!ATTENTION!

• Only use the charger supplied with the battery.
• Never cover the charger.
• If the charger or any part of it is damaged, it must be replaced with a new one. Never use such a charger. There is a risk of electric shock. Contact your dealer, the manufacturer of the equipment or an authorised service centre for replacement.
• NEVER use the scooter while it is connected to a charger.
• Charge the battery in a dry place at room temperature between 5 °C and 40 °C.
• The battery and/or charger might get warm whilst charging and does not indicate a fault.
• Do not recharge for longer than necessary.
• The scooter must always be charged under constant supervision!

Charging procedure

1. Switch off the scooter before charging.
2. Remove the rubber cap of the charging socket on the right side (1).
3. Connect the charger (2).
4. Insert the charger mains plug into the socket.
5. If the charger light is red, the battery is charging.
6. When charging is complete, the indicator light on the charger will turn green.
7. After charging, insert the rubber protective cover of the charging socket back in (3).

APPLICATION

This scooter can be connected via Bluetooth to a smartphone app, which allows you to view more information about the scooter, adjust various settings in more detail, lock the scooter, control it remotely, track the history of the last ride.
Note : connecting the application to the scooter is an additional function that is not necessary for the operation of the scooter. We do not guarantee its full functionality with all types of phones for the lifetime of the device.

• b) Install the app (Tuya Smart) on your smart device.

• c) Turn on the scooter.

• d) Turn on Bluetooth and GPS location on your smart device.

• e) Launch the app and search for „LAMAX eCruiser SC30“ and connect to the scooter

ATTENTION:

In order for the app to function normally on your smart device, it is necessary to grant all the appropriate permissions during installation.
Note : To prevent accidental connection of other people using the app to the same scooter, to connect a new person, the pairing must be reset as follows: Switch off the scooter, then press the brake together with the main button and hold for approx. 8 seconds until the display shows the abbreviation „UC“, thus disconnecting the previous user connection.

RIDING THE SCOOTER

The condition of the scooter is the responsibility of the owner. Before each ride, the owner should conduct a simple yet thorough check to ensure proper operation and to avoid the serious consequences of an accident.

Warning

• Every time you ride a scooter, there is a risk of something failing and possible injury, so always wear a helmet and knee and elbow protection.
• Before riding, always check the entire scooter, the functionality of the brakes, and lights, and that the locking mechanism is correctly in place.
• Do not ride in the rain or wet!

Recommended rider requirements:

• Height of person riding the scooter: 140–220 cm
• Weight of person riding the scooter: 30–120 kg
• Age of person riding the scooter: 14–60 years old
• Children may only control or otherwise manipulate the scooter under the supervision of a qualified adult. The same applies to people with reduced mobility.

Procedure

• a) Charge the scooter battery before riding.
• b) Switch on the scooter and grip the handlebars.
• c) Step on the scooter deck with one foot and push off with the other foot. When you reach a speed of about 3–5 km/h, accelerate by pressing the accelerator lever (throttle) on the right handlebar and step on the deck with the other foot for more stability.
• d) Control the speed of the scooter by pressing or releasing the throttle lever.
• e) Keep both hands on the handlebars and both feet on the scooter deck at all times.
• f) To stop, release the throttle and apply the brakes lightly using the brake levers on the handlebars. Never brake with your foot and do not use the rear mudguard as a brake or step on it while riding.
• g) When you have finished riding, turn off the scooter and charge the scooter as needed.
• h) Check tyre pressure continuously – the recommended pressure is around 2 bars (30 PSI).

BATTERY – SAFETY PRINCIPLES

• Fully charge the battery before first use.
• Charge regularly, preferably after every ride.
• Never let the battery run down completely!
• Operating temperature can affect overall battery life.
• Never connect mechanically damaged or inflated batteries to the charger. Do not use the batteries in this condition, as there is a risk of explosion.
• Do not use a damaged AC adapter or charger in any way.
• Charge at room temperature, never charge below 0 °C or above 40 °C.
• Take care not to drop, puncture or otherwise damage the battery. Do not repair a damaged battery.
• Do not expose the charger or the battery to moisture, water, rain, snow or various sprays.
• Do not leave the battery in the vehicle, do not expose it to sunlight and do not place it near heat sources. Strong light or high temperatures can damage the battery.
• Never leave batteries unattended while charging, as short-circuiting or accidental overcharging can cause leakage of aggressive chemicals, explosion or subsequent fire and therefore damage to property or injury.
• If the battery overheats during charging, i.e. the device heats up, disconnect the charger immediately. Subsequently, it is necessary to contact the manufacturer‘s authorised service.
• Do not place the charger and the battery being charged on or near flammable objects when charging. A fire may result. Beware of curtains, carpets, tablecloths, etc.
• Keep the battery out of reach of children and pets.
• Never disassemble the charger or battery. Electric shock may result, resulting in injury or death.
• If the battery is integrated, never disassemble the device unless otherwise specified. Any such attempt is risky and may result in injury, product damage and subsequent loss of warranty.
• Do not dispose of worn or damaged batteries in the trash, in fires or in heating appliances. Dispose of them at hazardous waste collection points.
• If you fail to comply with this policy, you assume full responsibility for any damage incurred.
• Always charge the device under constant supervision.
• If you have any suspicion of combustion, if the equipment starts to smoke or if a fire occurs, notify the fire department immediately and, if possible, place the equipment in an open area and stay a safe distance away from the equipment. Battery cells may explode as a result of combustion and leak.
• Do not use water-based fire extinguishers to extinguish the device. Suitable extinguishers are snow, gas or powder extinguishers as appropriate.

INSPECTION, MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE

A scooter needs regular inspection and maintenance, just like a bicycle or motorcycle. Always make sure the scooter is switched off and the charging cable is disconnected before carrying out the following tasks.

Checking and cleaning the scooter:

• Check the structure and tyres regularly for damage or excessive wear. In case of excessive wear, the tyre must be replaced. Do not use aggressive substances such as acetone or substances that could damage the tyre to clean the tyre.
• Check your tyre pressure regularly – the recommended pressure is around 2 bars (30 PSI).
• Do not use water or other liquids or acid-based cleaners to clean the scooter. Wet a clean cloth with clean soapy water and apply it to the frame of the scooter, then rinse the cloth thoroughly and wipe the scooter. Cleaning should be done so that water does not get into the battery cover, power inlet, display, or tyres.

Maintenance and service:

• A scooter requires regular maintenance and regular servicing just like a bicycle.
• The recommended service check is at least once a year.

Storing the scooter:

• Fully charge the battery before storing it. If you are storing the scooter for a longer period of time, charge the battery to half capacity at least once every 30 days. Failure to do so may result in equipment failure, which is not covered under warranty.
• Do not charge the scooter immediately if the storage temperature is below 0 °C. Before charging, place the scooter in a warmer environment (5–40 °C) for at least 2 hours. To prevent dust from entering the scooter, pack it in the original box and reseal it with adhesive tape. Store the scooter indoors, in a dry place and at the correct storage temperature.

SAFETY GUIDELINES AND WARNINGS

• The package contains small parts that can be dangerous for children. Always store the product out of the reach of children. The bags or the many pieces they contain are a choking hazard or can cause suffocation if placed on the head!

• Failure to follow basic instructions and any of the following safety precautions can result in damage to the scooter, loss of manufacturer‘s warranty, other property damage, serious injury and even death. Always use only original accessories, including the battery. If you use incompatible accessories, you risk voiding the warranty and possible damage to the equipment.

• Respect your surroundings and comply with the applicable regulations and laws of the country you are in.
  The user must comply with applicable local traffic laws when riding the electric scooter. If used illegally on public roads, including cycle paths, the user runs the risk of being fined or even prosecuted if they are at fault in a traffic accident.

• Read the instructions carefully.

• The scooter is designed for one person only.

• Check the technical condition of the scooter before each use, see chapter „Riding the scooter“.

• Always check the brakes and tyres before driving. Make sure that there are no objects in the wheel well that could obstruct your ride!

• Disc brakes get hot when braking, so do not touch the disc or shoes, especially shortly after using them.

• Check that the scooter is properly folded and that the locking mechanism is fixed before setting off.

• Wear all appropriate safety and protective equipment (especially a helmet) when riding a scooter.

• Never ride without holding the handlebars.

• Wear sturdy, closed shoes when riding a scooter.

• Look where you are going and be aware of road conditions, people, places, property and objects around you.

• Operate your scooter with consideration for pedestrians, cars and cyclists.

• When driving, give your full attention to driving. Do not use the scooter while talking, talking on the phone, sending text messages, or otherwise handling a phone or other device that may distract you.

• Do not ride a scooter unless it is allowed in the area.

• Always follow local ordinances and regulations.

• Do not drive on Class 1 and 2 motor vehicle roads and motorways.

• Do not drive in areas where there are large numbers of pedestrians.

• Do not remove the scooter‘s indicating features, such as reflective stickers or LED lighting.

• Never ride in the rain, water, mud, sand, dust, etc. Above all, avoid water completely.

• Do not hang bags, backpacks or other items on the scooter.

• Do not attempt to disassemble, repair or modify the device in any way. Disassembly, modification or any attempted repair will void the warranty and may result in damage to the device or even injury or property damage.

• Do not use the device under the influence of alcohol, drugs or other addictive substances or substances that affect coordination and reaction time.

• Do not use the scooter if you are tired or sleepy, or if you are in any way medically indisposed, such as a broken arm or leg.

• Use your best judgement to avoid dangerous situations with your scooter.

• Do not take your scooter on ramps or to a skate park, empty pool or skateboarding area. Do not ride on railings, jump on your scooter or try to climb over obstacles.

• Do not turn sharply, especially at high speeds.

• Do not ride in or near puddles of water, mud, sand, rocks, gravel, or in rough or rugged terrain. Doing so may damage the scooter. If you encounter uneven pavement, lift the scooter up and over the obstacle.

• Do not ride in bad weather: snow, rain, hail, icy roads or extreme heat. Skidding, falling and loss of balance can occur more easily on wet or damp roads. Irreversible damage to the device can also occur.

• Do not ride near swimming pools or other large water sources.

• Bend your knees when riding on bumpy or uneven surfaces to absorb shock and vibration and help you maintain stability. If you are unsure whether you can safely ride on a particular terrain, dismount and guide the scooter.

• Do not attempt to ride over bumps or objects higher than 1.5 cm.

• Any tampering with the software will void the customer‘s warranty.

• Handle the scooter very carefully when indoors.

• Do not ride the scooter on hills steeper than 15° (always help yourself by bouncing on steep climbs).

• The scooter is intended for use by one person, NEVER attempt to ride with two people.

• Women who are pregnant should not operate a scooter.

• Children under the age of 14 must only operate or otherwise handle the scooter under the supervision of a competent adult. The same applies to people with reduced mobility.

• At higher speeds, always take into account longer stopping distances.

• Do not jump off the scooter while riding.

• Do not jump on the scooter while riding.

• Do not attempt stunts or tricks with the scooter.

• Do not use the scooter outside designated areas.

• Do not exceed the maximum load capacity of the scooter.

• Avoid riding near hazardous substances and flammable substances.

• The statutory warranty and liability for defects do not apply if the equipment was purchased for business, commercial, municipal or non-private purposes.

• The device is intended for home use unless otherwise stated in the user manual.

• A claim cannot be made on the grounds that the device does not meet your requirements or is unsuitable for your use. In this case, the claim cannot be accepted.

• Always charge the device under constant supervision.

Follow rules for working with electrical equipment. The user is not allowed to disassemble the equipment or replace any of its components. There is a risk of electric shock if the covers are opened or removed. Incorrect assembly and reconnection of the equipment also expose you to the risk of electric shock.

The warranty period for products is 24 months unless otherwise stated. The warranty does not cover damage caused by non-standard use, mechanical damage, exposure to aggressive conditions, or handling contrary to the manual and normal wear and tear. The warranty period for the battery is 24 months, for its lifetime 6 months or 600 cycles (whichever comes first).
Keep in mind that the maximum capacity of the battery decreases with time or use. Battery life is also dependent on how the battery is used, charged and stored. The normal warranty period does not cover a reduction in the maximum capacity of the battery or its life cycle as this is not a defect in the material.
Interfering with the hardware or software of the device, such as tampering with the control unit, motor, battery or other controls, may void the warranty. In this case, the manufacturer is not obliged to accept the device for warranty claim.
The warranty does not apply to equipment components referred to as consumables, such as bearings, tyres and tubes, brake discs and pads, bulbs, cables and bowden cable, etc.
If the device was sold at a reduced price, the warranty does not cover defects or interventions for which the lower price was set.
Neither the manufacturer, importer nor distributor shall be liable for any damages caused by unauthorised tampering, installation, use contrary to the user manual, normal wear and tear or overloading.
After-warranty service can be ordered from the manufacturer‘s authorised service centre.
In order for a warranty claim to be accepted, it is assumed that the device has been operated in accordance with this user manual, including operation, maintenance, cleaning and storage. Only equipment that is clean, complete and has been properly packed for transport can be accepted for a claim.
