Battery Reset Tool
QUICKSTART GUIDE
| Your 12-0200 tool must be registered and activated before it can be used!
Download and install the Software Suite from the Associated Equipment website!
The tool has no battery and is powered when connected to a vehicle’s OBDII
port or a computer [with the USB cable provided].

Visit the Associated Equipment website at www.associatedequip.com and click on the SUPPORT tab to locate the Software Suite Download. Follow the instructions to download and install.

Connect your 12-0200 to your PC. When connecting the12-0200 for the first time, it is important to wait until the drivers are completely installed [computer should acknowledge when the installation process is complete] before proceeding! Display when connecting to a computer for the first time

Launch the Software Suite. The Suite will detect the new 12-0200 and indicate with prompting you to register the tool. Click the link to start the process. Follow the instructions in the Suite.

Once the 12-0200 is registered and activated, the application will prompt you to update the firmware. You will note that the start page of the Suite has changed. Click on “Get 12-0200 Updates” to begin the process of updating your tool. Once updated, note the main firmware has changed as well as the time format
If you have not registered your tool, this is what you will see on the tool’s display. Complete the registration and activation process to make your tool ready to use!
A quick way to identify whether or not a vehicle has a Battery Management System is to locate the sensor attached to the Negative Terminal of the Battery. Note: not all systems have this.
HOME SCREEN
The very first screen seen upon tool boot-up. From here access the BASIC
functions of the tool which are: Diagnostics, Battery Check, Settings, and
Information. Use the left and right arrow keys to highlight the desired
function. The BLINKING icon is the one currently selected. Press OK to select
that function.
DIAGNOSTICS
Select this option to get to the MAIN FUNCTION screen. From this screen, you
can choose from the following functions: BATTERY MANAGEMENT, or EOBD/OBDII.
The BLINKING icon is the one currently selected. Press OK to select that
function.
BATTERY MANAGEMENT
Select this option when servicing vehicles with active Battery Management
Systems. Functions include Relearn for new battery installations, Read and
Reset, and Diagnostic Trouble Codes. Service begins with vehicle selection.
Alternatively, you can select by ECU type.
OBDII/EOBD
Select this option when seeking to determine current Diagnostic Trouble Codes
[DTCs]. Select EXIT or hit ESC to return to the DIAGNOSTICS Home Screen.
BATTERY CHECK
Check the vehicle’s current installed battery condition using OBDII. Follow
the tool’s prompts: Switch Ignition Off, Switch Ignition On Start the Engine,
Run at Idle.
