GETTING STARTED

Unroll your panels and examine them closely. If any damage is apparent or if you have any questions about what you have received, please call or text Liane Ricci directly at 310-936-5925. No claims will be honored after merchandise has been cut or hung. Please note however that as with any artisan product, imperfections may occur. Subtle differences in tone, color, brushstroke, or texture are characteristics of hand crafted wallpaper, and should not be considered a defect. This wallcovering has a rating of Class III Decorative quality, and should be handled as fine art. Do not scrub or use an excessive amount of water during the installation process.

PREP THE WALL SURFACE

If your project requires install around an outlet/switch, shut off power to the circuit and remove the faceplate. You will install the paper over the box and trim away excess material covering the outlet hole along the edges and reinstall the faceplate. Remove any objects such as nails, hooks, or fixtures, and clean the wall surface with a damp cloth to remove any dust. Do not use chemical cleaners. Allow adequate time for wall to dry.

TRIM

You will notice that the edges of your panels have a 1-1/4” painted line. Using a very sharp utility knife, trim one inch from each side. When the panels are joined, this will create a line that is similar in thickness to other lines in the artwork.
Please call Liane if you have any questions about how to trim your panels. (If preferred, the panels may be overlapped and double-cut on the wall.)

APPLYING THE ADHESIVE

For the best results, we recommend using ROMAN PRO-880 ULTRA CLEAR ADHESIVE or DYNAMITE 234 PREMIUM HEAVY DUTY CLEAR STRIPPABLE WALLCOVERING ADHESIVE for the strongest hold and cleanest application. Lay your first panel face down on a drop cloth on the floor. Apply the adhesive using a paint roller or stiff bristle brush to the entire back side of the panel, taking extra care to avoid getting adhesive on the painted side. ‘Book’ the panel for 5-10 minutes before proceeding.

APPLY THE WALLPAPER PANEL

Have a slightly damp cloth handy to wipe any adhesive from the surface as you hang your panels. With your assistant, lift the panel and using the reference marks you made earlier, align the panel to the wall. Using a felt squeegee tool, apply the top portion of the mural panel to the wall starting at the center using horizontal outward strokes with even pressure. Use this method to work your way down the panel until completing the panel. Be careful not to use excessive force to squeeze glue out of the sides of the panel. It is important to squeegee out the air bubbles but do not overwork the application. Carefully wipe away any excess glue with your damp rag right away.

FINAL NOTES

Our HAND-PAINTED wallcoverings meet all requirements for ASTM E-84 testing with a Class A Fire Rating. Please contact the studio if copies of our certificates are desired.

If an extra layer of protection is needed, we recommend MATTE MASTERCLEAR SUPREME PROTECTIVE CLEAR COAT or DEAD FLAT WATER BASED INTERIOR VARNISH by MODERN MASTERS. Note, this may alter the luster of the finish. Please test on a sample swatch.

CATEGORY: SPONGEABLE

Best maintained by dusting and using a dry clean sponge or slightly damp cloth, and avoiding heavy water use. Please test any cleaning method in a discrete area first. Abrasives should not be used. These wallpapers are best suited to living rooms, dining rooms, or bedrooms where foot traffic and moisture conditions are low.
