Utilization of the product
If you want to dispose of this product, do not mix it with general household waste. There is a separate collection system for used electronic products in accordance with legislation that requires proper treatment, recovery and recycling. By doing so, you will ensure that your disposed product undergoes the necessary treatment, recovery and recycling and thus prevent potential negative effects on the environment and human health.
Important safeguards
- The instruction manual contains important operating and maintenance instructions. For your safety, it is necessary to refer to this manual. Keep the manual for future use.
- Do not hit or drop the unit.
- Do not expose the unit to vibration, direct sunlight, too high or low temperatures or humidity.
- Do not disassemble the unit yourself. Refer servicing to qualified service personnel.
- When the battery is exhausted, it should be removed from the set to prevent leakage.
Power supply
Battery power
- Open the battery compartment cover. Insert 4 x AA (1.5 V) batteries (not included). Please observe correct battery polarities or the unit will not work. Close the battery compartment cover.
- When the batteries are exhausted, they should be replaced.
- Do not use new and old batteries together.
Additional power
- Included with the receiver are 2 AG13c (1.5 V) batteries. The batteries are packed separately and not inserted in the battery compartment. This is an additional power intended for saving the clock and alarm settings. Without the additional power the time and alarm settings will not be stored if the power is switched off.
- When the batteries are exhausted theyshould be replaced. New batteries should be aquired by the user. Replace the batteries only with batteries of the same type.
ATTENTION: The AG13 batteries are consumables not covered by warranty, and their failure (discharge) is not a ground for addressing service and repair centers.
AC adaptor power
- Plug the supplied AC/DC power adaptor into the power input on the back of the unit. Connect the power cord to a power outlet. Make sure the voltage is compatible.
- Always remember to disconnect the power cord from the electrical mains before unplugging it from the unit.
- Unplug the power cord from the mains when not in use.
General operations
Clock
- In the clock mode press and hold the SET button to enable the time setting mode. Repeatedly press the SET button to set the parameters in the following sequence: hours => minutes => year => month => date => exit. The selected parameter will blink meaning readiness for adjustment.
- Press the TURN+ button to adjust the parameter up. Press the TURN- to adjust the parameter down.
- Day of week will be set automatically.
- In the time setting mode, if no button is pressed within 10 seconds after a parameter is selected, the unit will automatically go to clock mode.
- In the time setting mode, press the MODE button to return to the clock mode.
AUX input
To connect an external audio device (e.g. an MP3 player), please use a
standard stereo cable with 3.5 mm to 3.5 mm plugs to connect the audio line-
out of the external device to the AUX input socket of this unit (the cable
should be aquired separately).
LED display functions
- To save energy (when working on the AC/DC adapter) or battery life (when working on batteries), you can turn the display off by switching the DISPLAY ON/OFF switch to the OFF position. While in this mode you can turn it on for 10 seconds by pressing any button or by a loud sound (e.g. clapping your hands).
- The brightness of the display is set to half from 22:00 to 6:59:59. Alternatively, press the snooze button to adjust brightness manually.
Radio operation
- In the clock mode press the RADIO button to switch the radio on.
- Press TURN+/TURN- buttons on the unit to change the current frequency upwards or downwards by 100 KHz. Press and hold the TURN+/TURN- buttons to search the nearest strong signal station upwards or downwards automatically.
- Hold MODE button, P01 will blink on the screen. Press repeatedly TURN+/TURNbuttons to select the preset number for the current frequency. Press MODE to save the frequency in selected position (P01-P20).
- Press and hold the ALARM button: the device will start scanning from the lowest frequency and automatically save all available stations in positions (up to 20). When stations are saved in the memory, repeatedly press the TURN+/TURN- buttons to select the saved stations.
Sleep Timer
- Press the SNOOZE button to set the sleeping time of the radio, repeatedly press to change the sleeping time interval from 10 to 90 minutes. When the time expires, the radio will turn off. During program saving, if no button is pressed within several seconds, the unit will return to the normal radio mode.
- To adjust volume, repeatedly press the VOL+/VOL- buttons in the radio mode.
- Press MODE to switch the radio off.
Alarm operation
Alarm mode
- In clock mode, hold the ALARM button to set the alarm time.
- Repeatedly press the ALARM button to set the parameters in the following sequence: hours => minutes => exit. While setting, the digits will flash. Press the TURN+ or the TURN- buttons to adjust the time. If no button is pressed within 10 seconds after a parameter is selected, the unit will automatically set the alarm.
- If no button is pressed within 10 seconds in the alarm mode, the unit will exit to the clock mode.
Alarm ringing
- When setting the alarm, press RADIO, then the playing radio station will be set as the alarm (the playing radiofrequency is set as the last played radiofrequency), The alarm will ring for 15 minutes.
- If no radio station was set as an alarm signal, then the unit will beep periodically.
- After setting the alarm, press the MODE button to exit to the clock mode. When setting radio as an alarm signal, make sure the DISPLAY ON/OFF switch on the back panel is switched to ON. Otherwise the alarm will go off in standard beeping mode.
- Press the ALARM button to enter the alarm mode, the “ALARM” indicator will appear on the screen.
- When the alarm goes off press the ALARM button to stop the alarm. If SNOOZE is pressed the “SNOOZE” indicator will flash on the screen. The snooze time is 5 minutes (the snooze function can be used 2 times in a row).
Maintenance and care
If necessary, clean the unit with a piece of cloth dampened with water only (be sure the power cord is disconnected). The unit should not be exposed to dripping or splashing and no objects filled with liquids should be placed on the unit. Normal ventilation of the unit must not be impeded for intended use.
